I was going to shut up about this, but I saw these on tik tok, and you know what no. I’m not shutting up, not when I’m this enraged.
I’ve seen a lot of loreen fans and swedish people hop on to the victim train, saying that käärijä’s fans are harrassing them and sending them hate, and how it’s onesided and people should stop crying about it and let them celebrate their ‘victory’. I’ve been of the opinion that loreen, for the most part at least, is not to blame for the victory, and any discriminatory, degrading and hateful comment is unneccessary and not the way to go about this.
But seeing these comments? Yeah, fuck you. loreen fans and swedish people are saying some of the most vile things about käärijä on tik tok, and elsewhere i’m sure (i don’t have twitter or instagram, wouldn’t really know). These people are not only shaming his appearance, they are not only body-shaming him, but they are calling him a p*dophile now. I would like to know based on what accusations and claims (does this person even know what a p*dophile is?).
These comments are disgusting, and worse than anything i’ve seen being said of loreen/sweden. they are also calling out finnish people for being openly and understandably upset over the loss (they also seem to think that every person complaining is from finland, which not true, but okay). Jere aka Käärijä has never been anything but an absolute angel and a sweetheart to the people around him. Not once has he said anything disrespectful of loreen. i’ve never seen a single person who has met him say anything bad about him. there is a reason why the other contestants celebrated and cheered with käärijä, not loreen.
i don’t have the energy to be nice anymore. loreen was visibly high/on drugs for the entire finale (or at least the entire voting sequence). she failed to hit her low notes, and her voice has gotten so much worse since euphoria (of course people’s voices change as they get older, but if lauri ylönen got called out for not sounding the way did in his twenties last year, we can also call out loreen). her hair looked like she hasn’t neither brushed or washed her hair since her last victory in 2012. her face has so much filler that she looks like a five year old tried to make a wax figure of kim kardashian from memory (i hate it when women do not understand that aging is beautiful and that the filler does not make you look younger, in fact filler ages up your face so much). she’s allegedly getting sued for plagiarizing her song (mika newton, who represented ukraine in 2011 apparently wants to take legal action as tattoo has the exact same melody as her song from 2005).
people on tik tok are also using the ‘hate on a poc woman’ -card. i cannot emphasize this enough: if you think that loreen is getting this backlash over her race or gender: touch some grass. you might think you’re being progressive, but thinking that women and minorities shouldn’t be criticized for valid points, you are far from the woke queen you think you are. i’m sure loreen has gotten her fair share of misogynist/racist/biphobic comments, but none of this is about that.
thank you europe, it’s been real and i’ve hated every last second of it
but like.... half of europe's public gave käärijä 12 points, the whole arena chanting his name and song and country, the other contestants running to HIM when loreen won.... like no offence but if i was loreen i'd give this funky cha cha dude the trophy and walk away.
Finland was robbed, I voted for him and I will die on that hill, no matter how many Loreen fans would call me "misogynist" for stating the obvious. Did you have other favs besides Finland? Germany and Serbia deserved better too!! ToT
Germany, Spain, Albania, Norway and France definitely deserved more. Of course, when Sweden HAS TO win, the jury votes HAVE TO go to Sweden so the jury can't give points to other countries :3 Norway is furious of this year's competition and say this was rigged. Everyone seems to have a real bad taste in their mouth after Sweden won only because jury wanted it.
Just look at the like-dislike ratio on Youtube on Sweden's song:
Every single other Eurovision official victory video is having the similar like-dislike balance. Absolutely unheard in Eurovision! Usually, while there might be disagreements on who should have won, the winner is celebrated nevertheless. I heard the audience was booing and chanting Cha-Cha-Cha when the winner was announced and that outside in many places, where people had gathered to celebrate, people literally just walked out.
As said online: United by music, divided by jury. The shitshow aftermath is strong. Every single Eurovision social media post celebrating Sweden is full of negative messages and how Käärijä should have won. Eurovision Youtube mod keeps removing negative comments quickly. Yesterday there were lots of critical voices in the comments, now there's suspiciously too many positive voices for such a huge dislike ratio.
Loreen herself is completely innocent in this. Too bad this will affect her career and public image negatively.
There was no reason for Finland not to win. None. If the televoting was to believe, it was Finland's victory. But apparently televoting doesn't do a shit when jury decided that a country X must win, let's give them so many votes that even if the 2nd place runner got full 12 points of ALL European countries by televote, they can still win with 20 points only.
And that's never going to happen.
Talk about robbing televoters' money since their voting doesn't count :))))
Finnish people really are proud of him.
Translation: Finlands cha-hero! We know it. The world knows it. He was the best. Cha cha cha. (*also the jury gave finland 150 points and sweden 340 points, but lets not think about that.)
Loving how there was this swedish journalist going all "outrage! finnish voters didn't give any points to loreen" and then a finnish journalist came after them with receipts of all the time sweden didn't give us any points (like last year, and when blind channel was there), and also all the times sweden has fucked us over both in sports and in politics. Surprising that the world war 2 wasn't brought up (they were ✨neutral✨).
the jury: we gave our 12 points to sweden
the rest of europe (and the whole world): you fucked up a perfectly good finnish singer is what you did. look at him, he's got anxiety

last esc post i prommy but here is how i would fix eurovision
a) jury vote value down to 25%, televote 75%
b) winners of past years can only feature as guests, not contestants. you had your shot, now move on
c) national juries need to have a fixed number of people from music related backgrounds reflecting diverse tastes and opinions, and jury lists should be public for transparency. keeping their names secret to avoid bribery has not prevented bribery from happening nonetheless
d) make votes cost the same for everyone. when some countries pay 0.20€ per vote and others well above 1€ that's gonna skew results
e) and lastly, get rid of israel
