Bruh you can tell that the jinmao shippers that infest tiktok are those 'spicy booktok' fuckers because the bar is in hell. Because i saw post that amounted to jinshi is amazing because he doesn't force maomao to marry him and like he could. Just to violently realise i was in enemy territory cause they were genuinely commenting yes and giving me spiels about the historic setting.

These kind of accidental interactions with these people are making me genuinely resent the inculsion of the romantic subplot. Because it attracts these type of people to the fandom space. And they dont engage with the material at all they just centre everything around their special little man. Because if they did engage with it at all they'd know moon prince or not he actually couldnt just force maomao to marry him it would end up a political nightmare. So the already insane praise becomes even stupider.

She used music to communicate but she has lost that because of the shit with the band which is what caused this depressive episode. Same fuckers saying aya should leave her for the new bitch were probably saying where can i find my mitsuki at the start. This why you don't have or deserve one. Why is mitsuki not allowed to go through shit. Just cause she's the masc one. Like everyone seems to be forgetting this is something she has struggled with her whole life but she used have music but now she doesn't.

I am so glad i am starting to get apothocary diaries takes from those who appreciate nuance and the story for its politcal intrigue and not just ship people who would probably be happier with a 'spicy' romantasy.

Because i was for a time there seeing some shit that was really pissing me off. One thing in particular that jinshi does and the ship people where talking about it like tad is a cringy dark romantasy and it was ok. It was making my blood boil and making me really start to dislike jinshi. But the critical thinkers have found me and i have seen this incident talked about and explained in a nuanced and interesting way. And in a way that actually fits in the narrative of tad and not the cringy fanfiction ass version of the story those ship fans have in there heads.

In an effort to figure out if jinshi has more political story arcs my fyp is getting hit with ship fans (by this i mean fans of the ship seemingly exclusively). As such i've learned they are advising eachother to skip whole volumes and LN's because maomao and jinshi don't interact.

Read something else. Pick up something thats just romance. Because this is egregious the way tad lays out its stories so that everything ends up to a larger politcal plot is the best part of the series. And to skip whole arcs because you only care about romance is insane to me just read fanfiction at that point.

At least this kinda answers my question because i did fear jinshi would be relegated to a romantic lead i would increasingly lose patience for after his status reveal and birth of the prince.

Can someone confirm for me if jinshi's politcal storyline will start to pick up now with the reveal. Because i dont enjoy the romantic plot at all and if thats all he's got to offer its going to be painful.

He's rarely talked about in the fandom outside of that romantic plot so i have no idea what else is coming up for him. I use to like him but they dragged out him revealing his real status and the romantic plot became increasingly more uncomfortable for me to watch.

I need to know because the romantic plot is only going to get worse for me. The whole vibe of it puts me off so i need to know he has something else going for him with the reveal but also the birth of the new prince.

i do think what gets ignored about carrie as a character is that she’s an incredibly easy target to bully; she’s a chubby, sheltered acne ridden teenage girl who wears frumpy grandma clothes and regurgitates the jesus freak shit her violently abusive mother tells her. she has violent thoughts about her classmates and is uncomfortable to be around. she’s far more interesting being a victim that’s somewhat uncomfortable to be in the head of than a tragic waif. she’s not a martyr, she’s a child and a child who’s been victimised her whole life shouldn’t have to be kind and angelic to be recognised as a victim. suffering teenage girls shouldn’t just be presented on screen as toned down glamorous thin ophelias, suffering teenage girls can be fat and poor and think violently. i do think we need to examine why culturally we need teenage girls to be beautiful and kind to valorise their suffering and treat it as bad

Looked up the LN art and yeah maomao and jinshi look the same age so the anime has no excuse.

Like she actually looks like the female characters who are her age. Oh and she's still short. Its really not that hard to do. She also has a mature figure not a full bust but not the prepubesence completely flat chest no hips figure the anime gives her.
