A New Genre called “Dark Pop” is delivered through the track “Set us free” by the Music Duo “Bloom Twins” ➰
The Day that “Bloom Twins” made of Sonia and Anna uploaded their first track “Fahrenheit“ to YouTube, in June of 2013 they were only 17 years old. Now four years later, classically-trained as multi-instrumentalists, They released a string of self-penned, intoxicating songs, performed to thousands of people all over the world, garnered significant press coverage, starred in their first movie, and appeared in innumerable fashion campaigns.
Blending driving electronic tracks with haunting melodies, they have created their own signature sound, which they describe as “dark pop”. Now, having relocated to London, they are ready to record their debut album.
With profile pieces in a wide range of magazines, from Wonderland, Vogue, to Numero and ID, these identical twins have already made their mark in Europe and the Far East – where they have toured extensively with a number of high- profile artists – from Eels to Duran Duran – in addition to headlining their own shows and festival dates.
Over the past three years they have been featured as MTV Iggy’s Artists of the Week, performed on BBC Newsnight, secured broadsheet coverage in most of the UK’s leading newspapers and been included, alongside Katy Perry, will.i.am and many more in Unicef’s Imagine campaign, two years in a row

Set Us Free was written when Bloom Twins manage to return to the UK after after being stuck in the Ukraine for over six months during the country’s 2014 uprising. All that was on the Bloom Twins’ minds was freedom. After achieving it, 20-year-old identical twins Anna and Sonia Kuprienko co-wrote a song with Fiona Bevan and Max McElligott called “Set Us Free". However, the track isn’t political. Rather the appriciation for freedom. The video for the track takes the viewer through a series of breathtaking extreme sports scenarios, features Go-Pro headcam footage from skiing, bungee jumping, scuba-diving and zip-wiring to name a few, and was shot in several countires around the world including the USA, UK, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, the Maldives and of course, Ukraine.
On the making and narrative behind the track and the video, the girls say; “We tend to forget about the simple pleasures in life that make us happy. The world is our oyster. It’s only needed to be prized open to be enjoyed, with the pearl as the prize. Life should be about love, peace, happiness and freedom, and a home for it all is our beautiful planet.”
