Taehyung could not get you out of his head.
The sight of you in that long crimson dress, your smooth legs and cleavage on display was imbedded in himāand nothing could get you out of his mind. Not when he and Jia had dinner and watched a movie together, or were on the couch, cuddling and making out.
Even right now, with Jia dressed in sexy Santa outfit and straddling his lap, pressing kisses along his neck, you were still his only thought. He could only think about what you and Seokjin were up to this moment. You two have been gone for nearly three hours now and he still hasnāt heard anything from you.
Millions of thoughts ran through his head.
What were you two doing right now? Did you two actually go out to eat or did Seokjin rent a hotel room just for the two of you to fuck?āthe thought of that alone made him cringe.

When Jia tried to climb off his lap Taehyung was quick to grab and put her back down on his thighs. āIām sorry, baby, really I am. I was just distracted.ā

Taehyung froze, nibbling on his bottom lip. He knew that telling her the real reason he was distracted was because of you was not a good idea. āItās nothing.ā
From the looks of her face, Jia did not look convinced by his words, so Taehyung did the only thing he could ofāhe kissed her.
Pressing his lips against hers, Taehyung ran his hands along her hips, fingers grazing her skin as their lips moved in sync, a moan coming out of her as he swiped his tongue across her bottom lip and entered her mouth.
Taehyung groaned when he felt her suddenly grind against his growing bulge, tightening the grip he had on her waist as he felt himself starting force his hips up into her, forcing another moan out of her.
Pulling away from her lips, Taehyung asked with a smirk on his face. āShall we take this to our room?ā A peck from her was all he needed before standing up from the couch with her in his arms and her legs around his waist, carrying her to their shared room.
The thought of you in his mind slowly began to diminish, but never seemed to completely vanish.
The restaurant Seokjin took you to went beyond your expectations.
You always knew he was a man that fancied fancy things, but the moment you stepped inside the place you knew that this far from what you thought of him. While you felt like you did not belong here, Seokjin was the complete opposite, walking into the place as if he owned it, each step he took was with nothing but absolute confidence.
And you did not miss the way the hostesses eyed him, and would right after glare at you when realizing that he was with you, his hand around your waist and guiding you to your table.
Dinner went surprisingly well, the conversations between the two of you flowed smoothly without any awkward pauses. You two talked about everythingāabout your school, about his job, any plans once you two returned home from break.
Everything was going greatāuntil a certain someone was mentioned.
āSo,ā Seokjin spoke up. āHow are things going between you and Taehyung?ā
You froze, eyes staring directly at his as you felt the air in your throat get stuck. āI-Iāweāre fine. Why are you asking?ā
Seokjin shrugged. āJust wondering. Things seem tensed between the two of youāespecially with that girl, Jia, I think her name is, here.ā
āWell, weāre fine.ā
Seokjin pursed his lips. He immediately knew you were lying judging from your harsh tone and avoiding gaze. āYou know you can talk to me, right? I know you arenāt happy with her being here on this trip with Taehyung.ā
That made you stare at him confusingly. āWhy would you say that?ā
āBecause you love him.ā
You felt the world around you completely stop, dropping the fork that you held in your hand as your eyes burned into him. āHowāI-I mean, youāre crazy. I donāt have any feelings for Taehyung.ā
āCome on ____,ā Seokjin sighed, shaking his head. āIt doesnāt take rocket science to know that you love himāeveryone knows.ā Your heart fell at his words, your mind immediately thinking of Taehyung, and Seokjin seemed to notice that too because he quickly added, āeveryone except for Taehyung.ā
That relieved some of the anxious feeling you had, but that did not stop your heart from beating roughly inside your chest.
āDonāt worry though, your secret is safe with me. But if you want my opinion, you deserve someone betterāsomeone who knows what they want, which is not my brother.ā
You frowned, not saying anything. Youāve lost count of how many times youāve heard someone say those exact wordsāhow you deserved someone better. But that doesnāt stop the feelings you have for him. Nothing did.
The rest of dinner was eaten in silence.
A part of you wished that you never agreed to go out with Seokjin.
In the beginning you were enjoying your time with him, that was until he brought up Taehyung and your crush on his younger brother. After that, you were afraid to speak up for the rest of the night, afraid that the moment you opened your mouth that everything would start coming out and judging from how he has been teasing Taehyung lately, Seokjin was the last person you wanted to open up to.
When you two got back to the hotel, the first thing you noticed was that neither of your parents returned yet.
After thanking Seokjin for the night, you made your way your room with him following closely behind you, stopping at his room along the way.
As you neared your room, you couldnāt help but freeze when you heard a certain female voice, your head turning and eyes landing on Taehyungās slightly cracked door. You knew you shouldnāt, you knew that ease dropping was wrong but you couldnāt stop yourself from inching closer to his room.
āWhatās wrong with you lately, Taehyung?ā
Peeking through his cracked doorway, your heart clenched at the sight of them laying underneath the covers, hair disheveled, body glistening with sweat, and skin covered in dark purple bruises and bright red scratches.
āWhat did you mean?ā Taehyung asks, running his hand along her arm and nuzzling his nose against her hair.
Jia shrugged, shuffling around so that her head and arm was now resting against his bare chest. āEver since ____ left with your brother you have been out of it. Itās almost like youāre jealous or something.ā
Your eyes slightly widened and a small gasp came out of your mouth.
You did not miss the way Taehyung tensed when those words came out of her mouth. It was almost like what she said was true. The actual thought of him being jealous made your heart race.
āDonāt be ridiculous.ā Taehyung scoffed, crushing the thought you had into dust. āIām not jealousāitās just weird, ya know, knowing my brother and best friend are out having dinner togetherādressed like that. Those are āfuck meā type of clothesā¦ā
āOkay and,ā Jia stares at him confusingly. āWould it be so bad if they fuck? Why, do you want to sleep with her instead?ā

You felt your heart clench as you saw Taehyung tighten his arms around her and lean down, pecking the top of her head. āI promise you that there is nothing going on between me and ____. We work as friends, and that is it.ā
Your fingers dug into your palm from his words. āWhat do you mean?ā
āWeāre justāā Taehyung pauses, making the aching feeling in your chest hurt even more. āWe may be good friends, but we would never last as a couple. Weāre just two completely different people.ā
āYeah, I can see what you mean.ā Jia agreed, relaxing into his touch. āShe doesnāt really seem like your type too if Iām being honest. You like beautiful girls who are adventurous, fun, exciting. She is just, plain almost, boring even. I mean, I already guessed that when you told me you two were going to some art museum at the mall,ā chuckling, she says.
Taehyung doesnāt say anything to that, and that hurt. Does he think that way about you?
āThatās good for me then.ā She continues to speak. āIt means I wonāt have any competition for you.ā
āTrust me baby,ā your heart clenched at the sight of him smiling down at her and pecking her forehead. āYou have nothing to worry about. There is nothing going on between us and there never will be.ā
You pulled away from the doorway so fast as if it was fire and it burned you, the tears glistening in your eyes finally escaping, a few sliding down and staining your cheeks.
You slowly made your way to your room (completely unaware of the pair of eyes watching you from down the hall) and the moment you closed the door behind you, the sobs that were in your throat was released.
Taehyung doesnāt love you, and he never will.

When morning came, the atmosphere in the penthouse changed drasticallyāTaehyung knew that the moment he came downstairs for breakfast alone (Jia was still asleep upstairs), and found your place at the table was empty, along with your mother.

Taehyung furrowed his brows, confused as to what could have happened with you. His eyes then landed on his brother who was eating his breakfast silently. āWhat did you do?ā The question came out instantly as he got up from his seat and made his way around the table and approached him, standing above him.
Seokjin stared confusingly. āWhat do you mean?ā
āShe was fine when she left with you last night.ā Taehyung pointed out. āBut now she is upset with somethingāwhat did you do?!ā
āI didnāt do anything.ā Seokjin answered truthfully. āMaybe she is upset with something else, because we had a great time last night and she was fine when we got back here.ā
āYou must have done something.ā Taehyung continued accusing his older brother, blood boiling. āShe was perfectly fine last night before you two left and you were the last person she was with. If you had nothing to do with it, what could have happened in the time frame between now and the time you two left?ā
Taehyung did not know why, but when seeing Seokjin smirked at him and hearing his next words, a bone-chilling feeling that he could not describe went down his spine.
āWell, maybe she heard something she was not suppose to.ā
chapter eight: slowly losing you
days has passed since that night and you are beginning to accept the fact that you and taehyung will never happen. as for taehyung, he can feel you slowly pulling away from him.

itās literally half and half. i have major parts of series planned out (like the new years and returning home chapters that are coming up) while everything else i have come to me.
ahhhhhh!!!! this update was so worth the wait! i take back what i said about jin being a good thing heās kinda half half. i mean- he is incredibly annoying and definitely teases taehyung way too much but also iām glad that oc has someone to treat her on this trip. at this point jia is getting a little less annoying for me because i can see her perspective (still a bitch). i still canāt wait for the seventh chapter!
