Farscape Knew How to Do Angst - Castle Version is Biggest Joke EVER
Farscape had John Crichton finding love with a closed of, and at first, blood thirsty woman named Aeryn Sun who only knew how to be a soldier. There were barriers and guilt from Aeryn when one of their shipmates gave up their life for her to live.
There was a twinning of John Crichton and she giving her heart to one of them only for him to die. She returns to the ship they were all once on to see the face of the man who had died in her arms - John Crichton was still alive but was he still the man she fell in love with.
There was death, there was heartbreak, there was madness and there was deep, un-relenting love between John and Aeryn. There was John willing to sale out everyone to be with Aeryn. There was Aeryn willing to die to save the man she loves.
There was war and sacrifice and through it all you felt the organic nature of their love.
With Castle, you see two people that act like they are a middle aged couple who are ashamed to even touch each other. On top of that you have a bunch of writers who don’t know how to write a couple who are committed to each other.
This trite story line of shadowy figure threatening Beckett and her leaving Castle to protect him is so trite. He is still her husband and it seems he is still hanging around her. If she really wanted to protect him she wouldn’t just move into a hotel she would leave the state or the country. But no matter, everyone has to know they are married and if they wanted to get to her, if she is living with him or not, all they have to do is kidnap or kill Castle.
No, this is drama for drama’s sake because these hacks are lazy and have no imagination. How about a real shocker and having Beckett say um yeah Castle I have to figure this out. I am bailing on my job how about you, me and your vast wealth head out to figure this out? Boom, that changes things up and makes it interesting.
Introducing waste of space new characters and using the implausible plot that Alexis is now a super sleuthing computer wizard truly shows how little Castle writers respect their loyal viewers.
Now, instead of rooting for Castle and Beckett, I am rooting for Castle the show to produce its lowest numbers of the series. I want to see it drop below 1.0 and stick to these jokers who think this crappy storyline will fly.
And bonus question: Why in the hell would they give part of the show running job to Alexi Hawley who ran The Following into the ground?
