As a person with a disability, I want to take a moment to acknowledge these amazing drawings by Italian Artist: Alexandro Polombo. If the artist wishes for me to take these pictures down, I will completely understand but I had to share them because they are extremely powerful. Even though I am not an amputee, I do spend the majority of my time in a wheelchair, something that is rarely represented in Disney. As Alexandro says, "I have decided to portray disabled Disney’s characters because they never create a disabled character and I think that they should consider that there are so many disabled people in the planet, it’s a fact."
Danielle Sheypuk, appeared this Fashion week on the catwalk, as a statement to how we need more inclusion and visibility of individuals with disabilities. One important quote: "I made the decision to cast ‘role models not runway models. It is so important to me that women have positive body image and are empowered in work and their life. My line makes dresses to fit women. We don’t make dresses that women need to fit into."
