all of us girls??……………..capable of so much
I’m still shook, even now at 5am on a Thursday, over what I witnessed a few days ago in the Barnes & Noble Starbucks. Absolutely shook.
Two grown-ass men, obviously friends but dressed like they were in two different high school cliques, were arguing, passionately about who Gerard Way was. The one wearing a Green Lantern shirt and thick-rimmed hipster glasses said that Gerard Way is the lead singer of My Chemical Romance. The other guy was wearing what I wore during my emo phase in middle school, mostly black with a skinny red tie and a grey vest, was arguing that Gerard Way was a comic book writer.
Then a third person comes up, obviously another friend as she put down a tray of drinks for the three of them, looking like she could’ve been a Kappa Nu with Elle Woods, and asks “What dumb thing are you two arguing about now?”
The two men reply. Elle Woods’ sorority sister says “They’re the same damn person, you idiots. He does both things.”
Absolutely shook. I feel like I witnessed the utopia suggested by the end of High School Musical where everyone from all the different cliques are friends and Wildcats or some shit…
still don’t really understand how some people have trouble just being nice
Oh my gosh you’re such a good person. Hey everybody come look at how much of a good person this is.
i literally cannot comprehend how you got offended by this but thanks for proving my point anyway
this ones for the girls
the water warriors fighting for access to clean water for all
the teenagers imprisoned for fighting back against oppressive regimes
those fighting for access to education for all
for the future of the planet
for gender equality
for safety and protection from gun violence
for governmental representation and engagement for youths
for the rights of immigrants
for syria and the rights of refugees
for literacy and the representation of WOC in books
for trans and queer rights
for protection of girls against forced marriage and child slavery
i hope that one day we live in a world where children are allowed to just be children, where they dont have to fight tooth and nail for their rights and their futures, but i could not be prouder of this generation

being vulnerable enough to tell people how much you care about them is infinitely more brave than pretending to be above love and using edginess as a method of self-preservation
I’m allowed to be angry about what happened. I am allowed to be angry about what you did.
So if Bernie doesn’t win the nomination, will you still encourage your listeners and followers to just vote blue regardless of the candidate? The main thing here is to vote trump out. I’m not American so it’s actually really different to see how Americans vote or sometimes refuse to vote strategically. Like where I live we don’t even care that much about whoever leads a party we mostly just vote on what the party says it stands for.
At this point it seems fairly likely that it’s either going to be Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren (Biden could pull it out still I guess and one of the lower tier candidates could surprise but I feel fairly confident in saying it’s Bernie/Liz at this point.) And I could get behind either candidate to be honest. I strongly prefer Bernie for reasons we’ll discuss in a soon to be released podcast, but we’ve long said Elizabeth Warren is better than all the rest.
So if it’s one of those two, I will. If it’s Joe Biden, I probably won’t really encourage people to vote for him so much as just make critiques on both him and Trump. And if it’s someone else I’d likely do something similar.
That’s largely because the way parties function in the United States is a lot different than the way they function in other countries, namely the presidential candidate/president have a lot more sway over the parties agenda than vice versa. In a strong party system the leader is less important, but we don’t really have one of those. We sort of just have figureheads and what they stand for. So in my mind, a Bernie/Liz ticket also means a vastly different Democratic Party from a Joe Biden ticket.
I’ll personally vote blue no matter who, but that’s largely because I think protest votes have pretty limited effect thanks to our electoral system. But I can’t say I’ll really advocate for all the candidates equally because someone like Joe Biden ain’t it chief.
