Welcome!
This will serve as our first, although not only, home on the web. Expect to see links to our other outlets as they become operational.
The Harry Simms Fund is a Kentucky nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching the next generation of Kentuckians about the history and present of labor struggles in the Commonwealth. Our namesake, Harry Simms, was killed by a coal company gun thug in Knox County when he was just 20 years old.
We are an all-volunteer organization, so we welcome anyone who would like to help. Please contact us here or via harrysimmsfund at proton dot me if you would like to find ways to pitch in. Right now, we have no means to accept donations, but that will change in the near future!
Check back for updates on our progress and our first projects. We will also make financial statements and minutes of our board's meetings available for public review.
“The less you eat, drink, buy books, go to the theatre or to balls, or to the pub, and the less you think, love, theorize, sing, paint, fence, etc., the more you will be able to save and the greater will become your treasure which neither moth nor rust will corrupt—your capital. The less you are, the less you express your life, the more you have, the greater is your alienated life and the greater is the saving of your alienated being.” ― Karl Marx
In the 1950s, the U.S. military conducted unethical radiological experiments on Black communities, including the Pruitt-Igoe public housing
My god, it's full of stars.
Consoom the estranged labor power.
Remember back in 2020 when people all over America were like "can police please stop murdering black people" and universally the powers that be said "lol no" and proceeded to unleash a wave of police violence that included brutal attacks on over 400 journalists, a number of which blinded or otherwise maimed said journalists and then the police got even more money? That was kinda fucked up huh?
They also renamed a few streets to Black Lives Matter. Don’t forget that gesture
Don't forget the final boss of empty gestures
Senpai says you’re welcome
Reblogging again because I just realized that if I had this advice in high school I would’ve never made a tumblr account.
Also works for most of those news sites like WSJ or NYT that only let you read a little bit, or block adblockers. Also some disable the scroll bar but if you go to the right side of the console after hitting F12 and look for the CSS element “overflow” and change it from “hidden” to “visible” then you can continue scrolling for free. Might have to click around on different parts of the page to find it, but it should work.
Who indeed?
