So Harry has now spoken more than once about people coming to the show alone. And that’s just so important to me. I’m single, I don’t have many in person friends, and the ones I do have don’t listen to the same music that I do. And when Niall came to do a show two towns away from mine in 2024, I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t go. So I went alone.

Then in early 2025, Zayn was coming to New York. I didn’t know if he’d ever tour again, and I couldn’t turn down the chance to see him. I had never been to New York by myself, but I was like fuck it, I’m doing this (even though my family members and their friends were all scared for me 😂), and I went by myself.

Then last September, my bosses bought me Yungblud tickets, also in New York. I offered the extra to someone I used to go to school with, but she couldn’t make it. So I went alone again.

Then a month ago, I went to New York by myself once again to see Lewis Capaldi, an absolutely amazing experience.

There’s just something so freeing and empowering about going to see artists and music that you love, by yourself. I’ve been divorced for several years now, and to be able to come out of something that made me feel weak and then turn to music and let that be something that makes me feel strong and independent is just super cool. And to have Harry acknowledge people going to see him by themselves makes me feel so seen!

So if you’ve ever considered going to a concert but don’t have anyone to go with, I encourage you to just go for it and have a great time by yourself. You may even meet people there! But even if you don’t, it’s so cool to just be able to say that you did it alone, for yourself, by yourself ❤️

Writing “Goals” for 2026

I got the idea from @emilarry and loved it, so I made my own list of things I'd love to do this year in regards to writing. These are no set "goals", just things I'd love to do. We'll see how it goes.

1) Finish at least one [hopefully all] of my three long projects

One of them initially was for Angst Fest last year but when I was stuck on that fic, I started a "short" one to distract myself and it ended up being over 100k as well. Then I came up with a prequel idea which is now also at 50k. So, I really want to finish at least one of them this year lol.

2) Write for a Fic Fest again

I had so much fun writing for fests but didn't sign up to any this year because I still have so much to write. However, I'd love to participate in another one with a deadline at the end of the year or next year. I'd always wanted to try Big Bang out. We'll see.

3) Try out Kinktober or at least become a little more comfortable/braver with writing smut

I love reading smut and I also like writing it but I think I could become a little braver/more comfortable/confident with it. Maybe I could try out kinktober this year.

4) Write at least one fic from my idea list

The list is getting longer and longer and there are some gems that should be rather short. *Should* is the important word here ;)

5) Write a Dark Fic

I've always been intrigued/fascinated by dark fics. The first Larry fic I've ever read was a dark fic and I love it to this day. I'd love to try writing one of my own.

6) Wordplay

I loved participating in wordplay in 2024 and tried last year but my writers block had other ideas. However, I got plenty requests to continue my wordplay series "Karma is my boyfriend" and I'd love to finish it/continue it with wordplay this year if time allows it.

7) Write Omegaverse

I wrote a one shot once and while it was difficult is was also fun, so I'd like to explore a longer omegaverse fic with proper worldbuilding. The idea is there, so we'll see.

8) Finish and post advent calendar

I had an interesting idea for an advent calendar fic, so I'd love to write and post it this year.

i think because of the whole "writers write for themselves" notion that's becoming increasingly popularized, people forget that we still thrive off interaction and kindness. i write for myself but kudos and comments and bookmarks and really any sort of interaction with my fics genuinely motivates me to keep writing and keep sharing my works.
