Tim Drake
A little something for Sir Tim. A certain someone who knows who they are has got me thinking about it again.
--
"Do you honestly expect me to wear that?" Jason tossed his head with no small amount of disdain. It was a big head too, considering he was in his dragon form.
He was also digesting a meal, which was the only reason Tim felt he could broach the subject.
"How else are you going to carry me when we leave here?" Tim asked, trying to keep his tone reasonable.
The dragon flexed one of his taloned feet and Tim was quick to shake his head. "No, absolutely not. All it'll take is for you to forget you're carrying something and down I go."
Jason scoffed, smoke blowing from his nostrils. "As if I'd drop part of my hoard."
"Do you really want to take that chance?"
"... No."
Tim hefted the straps of the leather harness he'd spent the last week crafting under the watchful eye of Bruce's master saddlemaker. She'd been quite enthusiastic about the prospect of designing the world's first dragon saddle. "Then let me fit this to you. If it's done right, you'll hardly notice it's there at all."
More smoke filled the small courtyard. "That's not the point."
"I know," Tim answered, keeping a level eye on the dragon that meant so much to him. "You're not some brainless beast. You're a proud being who ranges the skies and has seen and done things I can only dream about."
This time, Jason arched his neck and tossed his head with no small amount of pride. "Damn right."
"But if you want me to fly with you, I'm not going to dangle like a fish on a hook," Tim continued. "You have your pride and I have mine. I also can't fly and am a lot squishier than you are. So. Where are we going to meet on this?"
The dragon's head swung down and around so that Tim could place his hands on Jason's snout if he wished. Orbs of sapphire blue stared unblinkingly before he let out a massive sigh that nearly knocked Tim off his feet. "Fit your harness. Just remember that I'm not a pack mule."
Tim tried not to crow in victory, but it was hard to conceal his grin, so he didn't even try. "Like you'd ever let me forget."
@krizariel inspired me w/ one night stand to accidental co workers jaytim đ„â€ïž
-
Wayne Enterprises is huge. Tim gets lost three times before a kind worker stops and points him in the right direction of conference room B. Heâs lucky he left early and manages to make it into conference room B before anyone else.
He paces around the room, unsure of which of the twenty chairs that surrounds the long table in the middle of the room to sit in. He stands near the wall of windows looking down over Gotham, stomach jolting not at the sight of the streets far below but at the sight of his reflection.
The hickey on his neck is sneaking out of the top of his collar, lighter and less noticeable than it was two mornings ago when he first saw it, but still. Itâs just his luck that Timâs last one night stand would have a neck fetish. He tugs his collar higher up his neck again and hopes he remembers not to mess with his tie during the interview.
Bruce Wayne may be a playboy but Tim doubts heâd want as much out of one of his new hires.
The first part of the interview goes well. Bruce Wayne is different in person than what Tim has seen from him through the media spotlight. Heâs kind and- awkward , surprisingly. Tim finds himself opening to him, forgetting about his nerves at all after twenty minutes.
âWell, I can see why Lucius liked you so much,â Bruce says. His smile is small but genuine. âThereâs just one person I think you should meet before we continue the interview. Jason, my son, has recently taken over as the coordinator. Youâll be working directly with him to help run things for the Martha Wayne Foundation.â
Tim smiles too. Jason was the name of the man Tim spent last Friday night with. What a coincidence. âIâm looking forward to-â
âBruce! Sorry, Iâm late everyone was driving like an asshole-â
âLanguage,â Bruce says, grimacing at Tim as if he cares about Jasonâs language when Tim is still processing that the behemoth of a man that just barged into conference room B is Jason. As in not a coincidence Jason. Neck kissing, hickey leaving Jason.
Jason, who is apparently Bruce Wayneâs son and, oh god, Tim is never setting foot in this building again. Heâll have to leave Gotham at this rate. Maybe Kon will let him stay at the farm for a while until Jason and Bruce forget Tim exists.
Jason hasnât noticed Tim yet in his hurry to get settled, stealing a sip from Bruceâs cup of coffee with one hand and dragging Timâs file in front of him with the other.
âThis is Timothy Drake. The man weâve been looking at to be your assistant coordinator,â Bruce says. âTim, this is Jason. He doesnât usually make an entrance like this, I promise.â
Jason hums a nonreply, skimming Timâs portfolio in record time while Tim barely manages a grunt through his too tight throat.
He knows the moment Jason notices the photo of Tim the day he graduated with his Masterâs degree because he freezes. He doesnât blink and doesn't twitch, holding completely still as he stares at Timâs photo for too long.
Eventually Bruce clears his throat. âJason, are you okay?â
âSure.â And then thereâs the slow drag of Jasonâs gaze from the photo up to where Timâs trying to disappear into his seat. His eyes rest a moment on Timâs neck as though he knows the hickey is still there underneath Timâs collar before their path continues and he makes devastating eye contact with Tim. âTimothy Drake.â
He makes Timâs name sound like a threat. Tim swallows loud enough that Bruce and Jason can probably hear it from the other side of the table. âJason, itâs nice to meet you.â
âIs it?â Jason smiles slowly and thatâs a threat too. Tim eyes the door. He could run, maybe. He thinks he remembers the way out. âBruce, can I have a moment with Tim?â
Bruce frowns. âButâŠâ
âWeâre going to be working alone together a lot. I wanna see how we get along by ourselves before we actually hire him.â
Bruce nods and leaves without further argument, ignoring or not noticing Tim trying to beg him with his eyes alone not to go.
The door closes with a fatal click, leaving Jason and Tim alone. Tim canât help but remember the last time they were alone together Jason had put his mouth all over Timâs face and neck and in return Tim had put his mouth all over Jasonâs pretty cock.
âTim, Tim, TimâŠâJason leans back in the chair, throwing his arms up and clasping his fingers together behind his head. âIâve seen plenty of shady shit since I started working here but this? This is new.â
âWhat?â Tim asks, slow and distracted by how different Jason is in a suit than the leather jacket and faded jeans he was wearing when Tim met him. Heâs no less attractive though, Tim hates to notice.
âThis. You,â Jason clarifies. âDid you think if your lack of gag reflex impressed me enough youâd get hired on the spot?â
âI didnât know it was you, I swear. I was out celebrating making it so far past interviews here, ironically.â He gives a weak chuckle. âBesides, I probably should have stayed for breakfast if I wanted to make a good impression.â
The joke falls flat, if anything Jasonâs posture grows more tense. âEither way, I donât know if I want to work with someone I have to worry about stumbling into one of our benefactors during a night out.â
âYouâre worried about me? What about you?â Tim demands. He tugs down his collar to show off the marks Jason left all over him, feeling a furious satisfaction when Jasonâs attention snaps to them. âIt took both of us to have the night we had. Donât be a hypocrite.â
âAt least you know for sure I wasnât plotting. What would I have had to gain from it?â
âThe best blow job of your life, apparently. Your words, not mine.â Tim shrugged. âAnd for the record, we both know I wouldnât have needed to plot for this. Iâve been working events for my parents' company since high school.â
âThe company that went bankrupt two years ago?â Jason asks sweetly.
âMy point is,â Tim continues, hurrying past the sharp sting of that reminder. âI have more experience working with Gothamâs elite than you. I know who will donate if you invite them to summer galas, which families you have to schmooze, and which you have to remind of the dirt you know on them to get a check. Iâm sure Bruce knows too, but you donât really want to keep bothering him over and over with those sorts of questions, do you?â
âIâll learn all of that on my own eventually,â Jason says after a telling pause.
âMaybe, but if youâre as charming with them as you have been with me today, the Martha Wayne Foundation is going to be significantly less funded by the time you get your shit together. I can help you with that on top of leaving you worry free Iâm scheming to get to the top. I was born and raised there after all.â
Jason throws his head back with a dramatic sigh. âYou have the most punchable face out of anyone Iâve ever met. How am I supposed to work with that?â
âYou said it was fuckable the other night. Maybe youâll change your mind again.â
âAnd that!â Jason points to him. âWeâre not repeating Friday night. Ever. So, donât even think about anything unprofessional. Itâs strictly business with us from here on out.â
âI wouldnât want a repeat anyway.â
Jason narrows his eyes like he doesnât believe Tim at all. âI wonât make it easy on you either. Youâll want to quit by the time our first event is over.â
Tim grins despite Jasonâs warning, because Jason is talking like he already has the job. âThatâs fine. I happen to like it rough.â
He leaves before Jason has a chance to fire him before his first day begins.
wanna be a ten out of ten for ya
Promise me you will take good care of yourself. You too. Donât die.Â
Finally reunited after all this time, and itâs the worst time because theyâre both about to risk their lives đ
Thank you, friends, for participating in voting and letting your voices be heard! Weâve tallied the votes and are pleased to announce the dates/prompts will be as follows:
Sunday, June 26th: Mermaid AU or Road Trip
Monday, June 27th: Sunâs Out Guns Out or Carnival/Fair or Monsoon/Summer Storm
Tuesday, June 28th: Shooting Star/Eclipse or Time Travel

Thursday, June 30th: Wet Clothes/Stripping Down or Pirate AU
Friday, July 1st: Car Wash or Sunset/Sunrise
Saturday, July 2nd: Forced Vacation or Night Sky/Constellations or Deserted Island/Stranded
This year we had a three-way tie between a few of the prompts, so we decided to include them all! Weâve also included one of the write-in prompts as well.
The main goal of JayTim Week is always to have fun. Just because each day has more than one prompt does not mean you have to write for each of them. It is also not required to post something for every single day. But if youâre feeling inspired and want to post something for each prompt, go for it!
Our tags this time around will be:
JayTimWeek2022 and JayTimWeek
When we get closer to June, weâll share the links to the Ao3 collection should you want to post there.
Also new this year, weâre also announcing a JayTim Week Discord server! Canât get enough of these guys? Want to chat with other JayTim fans at all hours and participate (or lurk, we donât judge) in campfire plot ideas that wonât go anywhere but are still fun to read? Then this server is for you!Â
This particular server is all ages and is for creators and fans who want to see the action unfold. If you have questions, please send in an ask or drop a line to one of the event mods @chibinightowlâ, @glaciyaâ, or @themandylionâ. Please note that all content channels are role-locked. NSFW content will be on this server, but is locked to those whoâve confirmed theyâre at least 18 years of age.
Since we want this server to be a safe place for all JayTim fans, please DM us for an invite. If youâre on the Capes & Coffee or Red on Red Discord servers already, there will be pinned invites in the applicable channels.
As always, you are welcome to reach out with any questions or concerns. We love and appreciate you all very much and thank you for always being so supportive and for joining us for a whole week of fun and fandom.
JayTim Week 2022
(Everyone please praise the amazing @krizariel for creating this adorable banner for the event!) JayTim Week 2022 June 26th-July 2nd!
Heya fellow JayTims! It is that time again for another JayTim Week to celebrate our favorite vigilante duo. This year weâve decided on the theme: Fun in the Sun! Temperatures and shenanigans will rise!
As always we still want your input in what prompts are used. From now until March 7th you can follow the link below to cast your votes:
https://forms.gle/on7SvRhmPGmMLVHdA
Please vote only once. We have ways of telling when someone cheats. As has happened in the past, if it appears that anyone has tried to unfairly manipulate the results, the prompt(s) in question will be taken out of the running entirely.
Once we have gathered all the results, weâll post the official prompt list so everyone can get to creating!Â
If you have any questions, feel free to send us an ask on here or you can contact the mods @chibinightowl @themandylion @sociallyawkwardfoxwriter @glaciya directly!
Hey, are you doing fic recs? I saw a couple old ones and loved alot of them so I was wondering if you had any for JayTim secret relationship? Like telling the family or being discovered? If not, thank you anywaysđ
Fun secret relationship jaytims incoming!
I know I didn't get them all so if anyone wants to add to this feel free. Self-recs welcome :)

Hi just a random passer by that wanted to thank you for sharing your writing with the world, study in red is one of the fics Iâve been reading and rereading these past months and itâs kept me afloat. Youâre amazing and your writing is beautiful. Hope youâre having a good day!

Hi I've just stumbled across ur fic A Study in Red and it really cheered me up during lockdown! Hope you're staying safe and healthy! Thanks for sharing your writing, it's great đ
;_____; I've been gone for so long and have so many of these wonderful notes. Thank you so much!! I'm so happy to have given at least a little bit of happiness during lockdown <3<3
Part 1 of my mini comic is here! I hope you guys like it, there are plenty more pages to come...
ART STUDENT JASON
but not Itâs more like heâs got this thing for Tim and Timâs always loitering by the art rooms because of Steph, and one day itâs like WAY too obvious that Jasonâs hanginâ around just to watch Tim chillinâ and so when Tim walks out Jason grabs the nearest thing to him and itâs a sketchpad. Tim eyes him. Then heâs like, âAh, okay, sure,â and goes straight back into the art room and plops onto the stool to model, and sighs and says, âItâs âcause you see Steph using me all the time, right?â Jason canât risk showing his cards, so heâs thinking, valhalla, itâs a great day to die and freaking pretends Timâs right, and spends over an hour hunched over the sketchpad, sweat beading his brow, chewing at his lip, nostrils flaring; and when Tim finally gets up and walks over, all Jasonâs got is a stick figure. Jason thinks, Welp. This was definitely one of your dumber ideas. BUT TIM, bless his soul, still hasnât figured Jason out. When he sees Jasonâs dejected sigh, he assumes itâs Jason being disappointed in his work.Â
âI, uh, really like how you did the hair,â Tim says. Jasonâs like, oh god. âI canât,â he states because literally, he cannot continue this ruse. His pride is a delicate thing and his stick figure is fucking side-eyeing him into oblivion.
âYou canât give up on your dreams.â Timâs lower lip quivers.
âNo, I mean,â Jason tries honesty out for the first time in his high school life. âI legitimately only came here for you, so-â
âThen we can meet up more often!â Tim says, very seriously. His eyes do the anime thing, where they wibble and gloss over, and thatâs how Jason knows how serious he actually is. âThe more you practice, the better youâll hone your style!â
Jason blinks, owlishly. âWait. What?â
Tim says, âI was offering to model for you? After classes? I mean, itâs super flattering that you wanted to draw meâŠ?â
And thatâs how Jason walks into the biggest lie of his seventeen years of existence.Â
They meet Mondays. They meet Wednesdays. Sometimes Tim waves at lunch and Jason runs into trash cans because heâs not paying attention to where heâs going.
After a while, Roy discovers the sketchbook. âChrist, my guy. Whyâs he got three eyes?â
âBecause I couldnât figure out where-â Jason tries, only to give up moments later. âUgh, just give it back.â
âDoes he really have twelve abs?â
âRoy. I swear to-â
âOkay, okay,â Roy leans forward. His lips curl deviously. âJay-Jay,â he hums. âMy man.â
âWhat.â
Roy poses, sprawling himself across the cafeteria table. âDraw me like one of your creepy stick figures.â
Jason chucks a pencil at him.
Obviously, one day, Jason will be forced to come clean.
Tim will haveâŠa look. An unexpected look, as Jason fumbles through trying to explain why the hell he went along with it for so long (three weeks, two days, to be exact).Â
Tim will say, âWellâŠI kinda guessed?â
âYouâŠyou knew?â Jason is aghast. Offended. His palm splays across his chest, where he feels his heart go hahaha youâre an idiot against his ribs. âYou knew and you didnât tell me?â
Tim opens his mouth. Pauses. Purses his lips.
Jason throws his hands to the sky. He wants to ask why, but it looks like itâs going to rain, and if he asks âwhyâ and it rains, heâll definitely think some higher power is getting a kick out of ruining his life.Â
Instead, he squints his eyes, squares a look at Tim, rips his sketchbook open, and shoves it towards Tim as if to say look at this. LOOK AT WHAT YOU MADE ME DO.
âIâve been drawing fucking cryptids for WEEKS!â Jason yells.
Tim laughs.
Jason groans. Tim asks, âDo I really have twelve abs?â as he slowly pulls up the bottom of his shirt, like he wants to check.
Jasonâs slack expression indicates heâs given up. âYeah.â he states. âThey look great with your third eye.â
It starts to rain. The splatter on cars sounds a lot like laughter.
Tim seems unaffected, all dew-dropped and sun-kissed as he tries another tactic. âDo I have a boyfriend?âÂ
When Jason mumbles, it sounds an awful lot like a âYes.â
_________________________________________________________
@tanekore thanks for letting me go off on late-night, wine-induced tangents lmao also draw me like one of your creepy stick figures HAHA ilu
âDo I really have twelve abs?â
âYeah, they look great with your third eye.â
I just crakled maniacally for days thinking about this story. Love it!!
@khachalala I LOVE THIS ART SO MUCH OMG
I feel I canât believe how many notes this has - what happened while I was away???
a Study in Red
Find this chapter here on Ao3. Pairing: JayTim Summary: Unbeknownst to Tim, Jason falls unexpectedly hard for a college kid that lives off brie. or The slow-build Stolen Kisses prompt wherein Jason needs a tutor and Tim miraculously finds the time to pencil him in. Authorâs note: You know, my entry for the Feb JayTimWeek that turned into 25K+ words (and still going??). The biggest hug to @tanekoreâ who is the most patient and supportive being on this planet, who did an art for this and has been holding onto it for an eternity. I still have a few chapters left to write, but in terms of postingâŠit was time. Chapter 1:
âWhatâs the what?â Tim asked, propping his phone between his shoulder and chin. The class was packed and he struggled squeezing behind other students to get to an empty seat.
âIf Iâm on a building thatâs thirty feet tall and the width of the street below is twenty feet wideââ
âWhat?â Tim interrupted again, just before bumping into a girl by accident. The hall was pure chaos, and Tim barely had a chance to offer her an apologetic smile before scrambling to claim an empty chair a few feet away. âWhere are you?â he asked against the cool screen of his smartphone. âI mean â thirty feet tall? In Gotham?â
âTim, ix-nay on the erd-nay â itâs a simple question. If the building is thirty feet tallââ
âUh,â Tim interrupted, rifling through his pack in an effort to find his pencil bag. âI hate to break it to you, but no building in Gotham is thirty feet tall,â he countered, his voice nearly lost to the dull roar of the lecture hall â the place was a boisterous haze of mid-semester dread. âItâs an architectural thing. Each floor does have, like, a ten foot standard but youâve got to calculate the interstitial space, andââ
âTim,â Jason said, half-serious. âTimbo-yo-himbo. Timbo-Slice . Youâre making this way too complicated.â
