Self training a psychiatric and mobility service dog (she's my pfp! I love her so much! Her name is River)
Generally just a nerd. A lot of video games and shows, but also anthropology, linguistics, and all sorts of other things.
Just a heads up in case anyone is sensitive to it, but I swear a lot when I'm just talking in general. I typically won't in a conversation with a stranger (unless they do first). I'm pretty much never truly trying to be aggressive.
I forget that some younger folks follow me (which is fine) so I'll occasionally mention adult topics, but never in detail or pictures or anything. I try to tag it if I think it's necessary and honestly sometimes I'll tag it even if i don't think it needs it bc you can never be too cautious.
I get cranky about some things but at the end of the day, I'm harmless.
I love my animals and friends. They're all very important to me :)
Whatever I'm mad about at the moment is usually under the cut or in my talking tag, jay squawks. If I truly can't hold my tongue on discourse, it goes under #jay shut up. But I try not to touch a lot of that shit with a ten foot pole. So I am likely to delete anything with that tag anyway but if you don't want to see it just block that tag :)
My philosophy is that it's better to be kind than nice, but i also don't really reach out to talk to strangers on here so that isn't always relevant to this blog lol
(The above paragraph is when I'm on my meds. If I'm out of Adderall all bets at off in terms of whether or not I'm talking to people)
If you want to chat and aren't a bot or scammer, feel free to send asks or DMs!
I have strong opinions on a lot of things but I'm always open to discussion
Mostly reblogs still, but now I have a whole bunch of nonsense in my talking tag
I don't really have a dni bc i feel like people who would be on it wouldn't care about violating it, but I block liberally. Right-leaning beliefs are the reason for most of my blocking. And that includes things that I see other self-proclaimed leftists saying. Radfems, zionists, transphobes, racists, ableists, homophobes, misogynists AND people who truly hate men (I'm nonbinary but kinda a guy), anti-choicers, anyone who supports any kind of abuse (and anyone who can't differentiate between fiction and reality when it comes to dark or problematic themes), aggressively religious people, and many other types get instant blocks, but at the end of the day I recognize that I can't control what anyone else does.
I generally try not to post or reblog discourse that's only in specific online circles (like shipping discourse), but that's not a hard and fast rule. Sometimes I get really stuck in the algorithm loop bullshit and need to say something.
I don't believe that a disorder makes someone evil, or that anyone is evil in general. Actions can be evil and I might call someone who intentionally does evil actions evil, but I don't believe it's an inherent trait. I know I'm over-explaining everything but I really don't want to be misunderstood. I just firmly believe that we are responsible for our own choices *and* for making sure that we don't hurt anyone with them. Do no harm but take no shit.
I am still learning and always will be. Please be nice and assume good intentions; I'm a little clumsy with my words but I root my worldview in love.
Tl;dr if you're chill with me, I'm typically chill with you, and I'm doing my best but I mess up communication a lot.
She was so wonderful, I would have given her every last day of my life if it would have given her more time. She made it to 16, which is about ten years longer than expected bc she had a heart murmur and my folks didn't know just how toxic to cats lilies are so psa: if you have cats, don't even have lilies in your house. The pollen can hurt them bad. But it was like ten years past that and I hope so much that the Japanese guy who figured out how to let cats live for like 30 years can get his invention to everyone everywhere because he's genuinely my hero and his science could give better quality of life to so many cats. And who knows! Maybe it could have some sort of human application. But to me, it's worth it if it helps cats live longer.
Her name was Millie. She was so full of love and I miss her every single day.

I actually have a lot of people i don't want to interact with me but the issue is that it's almost everyone ever. But especially mean people. But a lil mean is okay. Be mean to fascists. But like. Be nice to other trans people or i will Get You. How, you may ask? Bad vibes. Very very bad vibes. Miasma maybe. But hey. Hey. Hey. Listen to me.
You might be the first nice someone has gotten today.
So be kind
Especially to kids
If they find a cool rock you're listening to everything about the cool rock, okay?
If you ever want a challenging but super cool research rabbithole to go down, look into the Honda Electro Gyrocator. There's not a ton about it (at least in English) but it's one of the first in-car navigation systems. However, it was only produced for a few models and for just one year. It worked from maps, so it was only sold in like two cities in Japan (I'm 80% sure Tokyo was one of them) because those are the only places they made maps for. And, get this: it worked by sensing changes in the helium that filled its chamber! So it could tell if you had turned correctly (at least sometimes). It wasn't very functional but it was definitely more practical than GM's DAIR (also interesting if you're on a vintage navigation kick).
“It just means you have to work double as hard as most people!”
Well maybe I don’t WANT to work double as hard as abled people!! Maybe I deserve a BREAK!! Maybe I’ve been working MORE THAN double as hard for MY WHOLE LIFE and it’s led me to immense burnout & caused me to develop several MORE disabilities!! Maybe I should be ACCOMMODATED so I don’t have to KILL MY BODY AND BRAIN over trying to do what abled people can do!! Maybe I DON’T have to work double as hard!! Maybe if there’s the option to let me NOT work double as hard, I should have it, because I’m already working double as hard JUST TO SURVIVE!!
Why do you think disabled people deserve less rest than mentally & physically abled people?
