stuck in a moment

It looked like one of those quirky puzzle objects that clever, brainy people kept on their desks or their coffee tables.

And given that description of it, Rose supposed it wasn’t that much of a shock that such an object existed on the TARDIS. It was just that on balance, the box before her looked rather… ordinary.

It was a box that really could’ve been a prop to one of the best steampunk costumes she’d ever seen. It was expertly crafted, with silver metal reinforcements on each corner, and exquisitely decorated on every face. Despite the clean, sharp angles of the overall cubic shape, the patterns that covered the surface were all swirling circular embellishments, ones that Rose had seen displayed across the TARDIS viewscreen at times, or on the spines of some of the books in the library. The Doctor’s native language, then. She’d always wondered if the TARDIS couldn’t translate it due to complexity or whether she simply chose to afford the Doctor the privacy that he so clearly needed to fall back on whenever things got to be too much.

Each side was adorned differently. One was divided into a four by four grid, with the beautiful, looping language splayed chaotically across the background irrespective of the lines slicing through it. One side had gears that looked just like any gears she would’ve imagined back on Earth, and yet another had gears that looked just like the symbols that comprised the Doctor’s language. The whole thing rather reminded Rose of the inside of a clock, or the surface of a circuit board, or a spider’s web.

She wasn’t sure what it was, honestly, and she made a mental note to herself to ask the Doctor later, but for now, she was on the hunt for a very particular book or three, and the box was in the way.

The moment she reached out and touched it, the rest of the world fell away. (x)

“for how much longer can we call this thing between us love” holy heck this sounds like this is gonna hurt

so sorry it took me so long to answer I was just too lazy to log onto my computer in the last two days🤭

and LOL no I'm sorry, the title is actually from a song (not in English) that just screams eleven/rose to me and that's the best translation I could come up with, but the original sounds so much better, and it's pure fluff (the next line of the song is literally ‘we’re going to need a bigger word’, very cheesy sweet song)

I actually started writing it for the eleven part of 'from all the moments' but decided not to go with it because it was way too complicated and gave up after writing like 100 words and stuck it in a new doc with that name😅

the idea was that after Rose comes back, and the Doctor finds out, they don't really know how to be around each other and if they actually have a future together, mostly because Rose knows about the library. So it's all awkward, with the Doctor randomly showing up at Torchwood (where she works with Jack) to get her 'help' with things. (except they both know it’s actually dates but refuse to acknowledge that). and then she's there for 'a good man goes to war' but it's all different because one of my goals is to one day write a fix-it for that terrible episode and they save Melody and when River shows up, she tells them they actually just asked her to pretend in order to close the causal loop

and then obviously the part when the two idiots realise they can actually just be together

Eight, Eleven Chameleon Arch??? PLEASE and also I maybe screamed a little at the 'sequel: a more literal method of compartmentalization' spider please

ah this one is Complicated™ and sort of long and I started it but had so much trouble writing it that i'm not sure if i'll get it to work--

the premise is that Eight is being summoned to Gallifrey to fight in the Time War (the summons are telepathic and increasingly hard to ignore as time goes on) and decides to chameleon arch himself to attempt to escape the draft. the TARDIS, unfortunately, knows that he has to fight and ultimately end the war, so she sets out to find someone who she thinks can help him--bingo, that's Rose. the TARDIS loves Rose, though, so she obviously wants this to work out in her favor too...

so, the Rose she finds is post-Metacrisis and is living a quiet life on Earth, having returned to the original universe to keep in touch with Jack (probably also her other friends, but at this point it's easiest/least painful to see Jack since they're both virtually immortal). she refuses to seek out the Doctor because she knows from Tentoo's memories that he's either married to River or will be in the future, and she doesn't want to interfere, and she also can't/doesn't want to move on from her marriage to Tentoo.

the end result is a really angsty slow burn where Rose has to convince Eight to unfob himself and then to go fight in the Time War. Eight, in turn, needs to convince Rose to give his future self and her own heart a second chance, knowing that they could be happy together and essentially have their forever.

i imagine the story with Eight is one story with an Eleven reunion, and the Eleven arc (if I ever finished the first one and miraculously got to a second) would then be something along the lines of that "Rewrite the Stars" song from The Greatest Showman where Rose is hesitant and Eleven is pretty much just begging her to let herself be happy (so like a complete role reversal of how we all headcanon tenrose, haha). not sure if this would be post-River arc or if the two of them would literally rewrite Eleven's timeline as they go as the result of Eight's meddling

This has been sitting my my drafts for a while because I've never been able to figure out a good ending for it. But so far it's basically just TARDIS/Rose shipping (hah) with Nine being jealous on the side.

"I'm not going to act as a go between for the two of you while you try to bloody seduce her!" He shouted, ready to kick the console. 

The console made a loud whirring noise and shut off as the TARDIS concentrated on more direct communication with her pilot. She wouldn't need him after he explained. Her Rose would be willing and was the perfect candidate for what the TARDIS wanted. 

"Your Rose?" The Doctor snarled. "You don't bloody own her! You can't  just go around asking 21st century humans to marry you because you think they'd be the right fit!" 

The TARDIS sent him her confusion, isn't that exactly what he did all the time?

oh my god okay so this is a pure crack/smut fic i haven't started writing yet (the way i just open new docs every time i have an idea) and it's tentoo/rose, early days, and they've just started having sex so naturally, they can't get enough of each other;

and they're at this boring torchwood meeting and rose just can't think of anything else, so she excuses herself, saying she needs the loo and gives him a pointed look

he doesn't follow, because he can be quite thick and he doesn't realise what she was trying to do and she has to stomp back into the conference room and drag him out

crack ensues; haven't really thought it out after this but i know i want to include a scene where she's trying to undress him but he's wearing so many layers and she's just getting more and more frustrated xD

i wrote a summary (?) for it a few months back though---

"I need the loo," she tells him pointedly, three hours into the meeting. "The one on the third floor, near the purple water cooler." Noticing Jake listening in on their conversation closely, she clears her throat. "I like the...soaps there. They smell nice."
