“Yeah, I’ve been wondering the same thing” Jake replied with a forced smile before it simmered right back down to a frown. Of course he knew why he kept Blue around. She might’ve been difficult but they were the same in a lot of ways. They weren’t part of the socialites despite how much Blue tried. She wasn’t them. And that might have been the most beautiful thing about her. “You never call her by the right fucking name, you never even gave her a chance. It’s over, you don’t gotta lie about how terrible you were about her” There was no point. Most of the time he tolerated since it never got out of hand but right now he found it a little annoying that she wanted to pretend she was perfectly nice. It was fake. Something Blue never wore very well. “You know she might’ve been a socialite but she tried to help people, she really did. So can we not turn this into trashing my ex because that ain’t what I want to do. That ain’t what I’m about.”
Blue cocked a single eyebrow, trying to figure out if he was serious or not. This was how she usually was around him, but maybe he was more upset about this breakup than she initially thought. “Why are you acting like you’ve got a stick up your ass? You know damn well why you keep me around and you knew what I’d be like around your girlfriend. I’m the same way with every girl you’ve ever introduced to me,” she pointed out with a roll of her eyes. He was making many very fair points, not that she felt bad about any of it. Jacob was too good for Sabrina and that was all she had to say about that particular relationship of his. “Don’t blame me for your failed relationship! I was a little mean to her, so what? She’s a big girl, she should be able to get over it. You could’ve just stopped inviting me when she was around, it’s not like I wanted to witness the two of you packing on PDA.” In fact, that was probably the most unappealing image ever. Was she bitter or jealous? Probably a combination of both, which made her particularly mean. “Whatever. Why don’t you stand outside her window with a boombox if she’s such a saint and you love her so fucking much? In my opinion, though, you can do much better.”
