Packed My Bags.

It’s official, I’ve move to tarnishedpeonies. I made the mistake of having this as my primary on Tumblr, and it’s felt stifling since the real world and what happens in it has escalated. I’ve needed somewhere I can express myself on my primary without it being ‘out of character’, and will have that moving forward.

Will I ever RP from a side blog? Yeah, once I’ve figured out what I want to play. WoW lost it’s flavor for me, and the pandemic has been a critical hit to my creativity. I’m all ears, just lost and trying to get my bearings back.

The amount of work in these blogs is immense, so I’m leaving them for archival purposes, but won’t be responding here.

My mutuals are amazing and the only reason I’ve tried logging in occasionally to chase the ghost of inspiration. If we never speak again, I love and will miss you, and wish you all the best.

Light braced through a careless break in the curtains, forcing Vira to turn over in her bed, bumping into an unexpected surprise. Sitting up straight, the mage blinked her vision to focus on the - man. That’s a man, in her bed. In her bed. Oh dear. Even while her brain flew into panic (what!) she reached out to touch the golden hair on his head (why? how?) and brush it out of his face, taking a better look at those chiseled features (who?!). Well, that last one was a good question and she doesn’t have an answer...but.

It has been so long since the mage enjoyed company this intimate. Why ruin the moment? She laid back down, pressing against his back to borrow some of that warmth with a hum, hoping he wouldn’t still be here if he’d seen - any surprise shape-shifting over the course of the night. And it had been a good night, hadn’t it...

The Feast of the Moon was an ancient tradition in Faerûn, celebrated lavishly in the city of Waterdeep with feasting tables marking High Road way, and the market cleared for other festivities; all the temples were performing rituals appropriate to their gods, worshipers coming and going between celebrations and solemn prayer.

Some places were closed to facilitate the celebration, or rather, facilitate those who wanted to participate but might otherwise have duties to attend. It was one of the few yearly celebrations Vira would attend; everyone had dead, fallen to consider on such a sacred night; and everyone celebrated their ancestors in a unique and interesting way!

The mage had shown up in her festival finery, blue silk pinched and sewn to resemble dragon scales in the bodice, and left to flow freely through her sleeves and skirts like an embodiment of flight. The Heralds had not begun yet, and she roamed, looking over the goods in the few fixed stalls open at the market, close (too close) to the dance.

Her first mistake was looking away long enough to make eye contact (what a nice blue). Her second mistake was not tearing her gaze away immediately (shouldn’t I be shopping?). Her third was walking over, challenging the gaze between her and this golden haired stranger. “You can’t see the stalls from the lane,” she chided.

The stranger flashed a warm smile as the mage approached. He gave her a small nod at her remark, his gaze never breaking. “But I can dance this far from the stalls,” he countered in a playful, musing tone.

The man’s arm moved out towards Vira, his hand’s palm up and fingers extended to offer out to her own. “And now so can you.” That grin spread into something just a little bit more knowing. Maybe, just maybe, this blue stranger had more an urge to dance than she let on.

The stranger made a point; and if she was this close to the festivities, should she not participate? Glancing to the reagents vendor who had come into town specifically for the feast, Vira shrugged helplessly and turned back to step forward, slipping a hand into the invitation. “I hope you dance as well as you speak.”

Stepping into position, the mage gave the benefit of the doubt; he knew how to lead, right? “In for the feast, then?” Not that she’d know; the city was so big, she could have met him in the daylight and never remembered! As unlikely as that was.

“Mm, you’re putting some steep expectations to me and we’ve only just begun,” the bright eyed human laughed. The stranger would slowly pull Vira into a slow, steady rhythm as the bardic music flowed over the square.

“ I am now, it would seem. But not originally! Fortune just pulled me in this direction. And what of yourself? You’re rather well dressed to just be out shopping at some traveling merchant stalls.”

A smile pressed her lips out with a soft chuckle. “So your mouth gets you in trouble often,” she glanced away briefly, until she was pulled in and her eyes focused back on the one in front of her. It was a good group playing, too.

Although, she could not hide surprise that this one was not in Waterdeep for the festivities. “Fortune. Does she not favor the bold, or some such?” It was something she had heard. “It’s a festival. When else will I wear this dress?” Her posture shifted proudly, showing off the intricate work...really, the question might be, when else would she be out to wear this dress?

“So, what fortune pulled you to our quaint city?”

🎨 Art. Viragosa is much more adept at appreciating art, theorizing meaning and purpose, dissecting technique and color spectrum than actually creating art herself. She’s much more likely to follow a how-to: paint by numbers, lace making patterns, cross-stitch with instructions, something along those lines. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t love art, though!

🍀 Luck. Hit or miss! Sometimes she absolutely gets the best cut, and other days she’s tripping over her own lace trims…

🔮 Magic. Viragosa is the - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart of the college. Which, sounds really cool, until you remember how much difficulty Mozart had adjusting to normal societal expectations and keeping their lives on track. Admittedly Viragosa is much more organized, but…well, there’s a reason she’s been regaled to the library and is not a teacher.

🔎 Investigating. This honestly depends on how important the investigation is to Viragosa, personally.
