“ Prefer you alive.”

Once “The MEG 2: The Trench” robbed us, by k1lling Suyin offscreen, I wrote something while having a crying attack at midnight. So, this is how i imagine the last talk Suyin and Jonas have before her death:

“You saved me. Again. 

Prefer you alive.”

He gasped when remembered that one talk. When he was so worried about losing his wife - that wasn’t his wife yet, but still the woman he loved the most - to one of those giant sharks. What a joke. No one would expect that Suyin could die this way, when she lived her whole life diving into the deepest oceans.

“I’m sorry I can’t save you this time.” He cried his heart out.

Suyin gives him that sad smile. The one she used only when nothing could be done anymore.

“Thank you, Jonah. For saving me so many times. But now it’s time to let me go.”

Jonah shook his head.

“I can’t. I just wish we could do more for you. Meying won’t accept you leaving. I won’t. Please, stay.”

“You know that’s not how things works. Sorry.”

It was too hard to accept. But he put a fake smile on his face, placed his hand on the glass that was keeping his wife away from her family and friends, and then nodded.

“Wǒ ài nǐ. (I love you)” That's what he meant. Suyin, with the face covered with a surgery mask, sighed heavily, and then said:

“Wǒ yě ài nǐ. Hěnduō. (I love you too. a lot).”
