Hello it’s me again, my brain is keep doing the thing and thinking about fandom discourse again. You know it was kinda messed up that the fandom blamed Gon for so much.
He’s 12.
And some sort of neurodivergent. (Drag audhd Gon from my cold dead hands)
With shitty absent dad.
Raised in a place with one other kid.
The only adult that inspired him to become a hunter died in front of him.
Not to mention the Hunter Exam was the hunger games.
Other actual adults used him and Killua as child soldiers.
Killua didn’t mean too either but also put him on a pedestal.
Had a black and white view of the world because he’s a child.
We still have no clue who exactly his mother is.
Almost got dragged into a criminal organization because an adult couldn’t grieve correctly.
Who hasn’t had a codependent friendship when you are a kid.
His selfish actions was a 12 year old feeling way too much he was trying to kill himself.
Was Raised by A Teen Girl.
He’s 12.
probably the dumbest thing ive ever made but it made me laugh so here you go
The eway he looks at him guys like are you s e r i o u s
right before you have major life commitments is the perfect time to get into a new fandom
why the fuck did they put ‘in the beach at every life’ in heartstopper forever are they trying to get me to cry over à happy scene give me a break
I’m going to say something.
I’m going to say something on a website that has the age demographic I’m about to mention.
Are you ready?
Teenagers are messy.
Teenagers are messy and impulsive.
Teenagers are messy and impulsive and emotional.
Teenagers are messy and impulsive and emotional and they care so much.
Teenagers are messy and impulsive and emotional and they care so much and they feel so much with their big hearts.
Teenagers have the weight of the world on their shoulders as they are trying to figure out who they are, who they want to be, who they want to be around, and what they want to do.
And I think despite whatever qualms you have about the movie, Heartstopper Forever (and Heartstopper the show) does an excellent job showing true teenagehood.
THIS IS SOOOOOOOOO THE POINT
just finished Heartstopper forever. Nobody talk to me for the next 12 hours.
stared at the ceiling for two hours before falling asleep and then woke up and stared at the ceiling more and now i am trying to deal with my emotions on tumblr
Finally able to watch Heartstopper Forever and god I am so glad we have queer media like this. I feel seen and understood and healed. There is just something so special about this you can't bottle it.
if all of us had to provide evidence for two soulmates, we'd all pick you two.
Did Harry know? Did he put it together and then tried to apologize? He stood up for them in Paris. He was the one to call out Ben for calling Imogen a bitch. He didnt make any homophobic comment at the prom and kinda congratulated Nick for having a boyfriend.
I think he knew here already.
Listen. Harry did unforgivable things, absolutely but *look*. He is 16 years old. Its clearly learned behavior and attention seeking. He is at the age where kids struggle to see the world outside of themselves, teenagers are *actively learning empathy* at that age. When Isacc talked to him, or when Nick stopped talking to him, he absorbed that information. He may not have apologized well or fully, but he is slowly realizing that his actions hurt people and he Doesnt Want That. He hurt Nick and Charlie in ways that they should never be expected to forgive, and he has a long way to go, but if you cannot allow a 16 year old to grow and learn, you are *actively* promoting the stereotype and culture that makes boys never grow into men. I am not saying you need to forgive him, or real bullies. Nor am I saying what he did was okay. What I am saying is that he is still a kid and a kid cannot be considered irredeemable. They are so young in this show. I will die on this hill. Teenagers are so young. I really hope movie Harry doesnt act the way he did in Nick and Charlie.
expanding on this just a bit now that we saw the movie. there isnt much of Harry in this movie, but we do see him introducing Nick and Charlie as "proper romantic" and that was so important to me. Harry wants Nick and Charlie to like him. He is trying to be better even though they are not responding to it. Even though Charlie slammed the door in his face in Paris Harry did not go back on his apology he actually changed. would have loved to see cormac in a cheerleader outfit but im very happy with Harry's growth arc in heartstopper. He didnt bully Charlie after losing for head boy. He was upset, but he didnt bully or resort to homophobia. he talked to his friends about it. guys allowing teenage boys the room and the grace to grow is so important.
NICK & CHARLIE || HEARTSTOPPER FOREVER
My blog is a private thing that is open to everyone in the world except to the people I know in real life.
Happy 18th birthday to Cormac!
like look at him. he is so adorable. he played nick nelson in another universe. i cant even take his actor seriously sometimes he just looks so young and baby to me.
