Israel is committing genocide. Politicians can ignore our emails, calls, marches, petitions... but they can't ignore us if we shut down the country with a general strike. So when will we protest in a way they can't brush off? Palestinians can't wait.
Italy did a huge general strike, and now their government is sending a naval vessel to escort the Sumud flotilla. There were huge protests in Spain, and now Spain is sending a naval vessel to escort the flotilla. Why aren't we doing general strikes in Canada, the US, the UK... everywhere? Our politicians can ignore our calls, our emails, our petitions, our chants, our signs... but they can't ignore us if we shut a country down with a general strike. So why not organize such strikes in each country? Support for Palestine and opposition to Israel are widespread. With a good awareness campaign, we could likely get huge numbers of people in any given country to participate. So when are we doing the next general strike?
Breaking Character for once...
...just to say that I support Palestinian independence. The Israeli government and IDF are committing genocide. Palestinians deserve freedom, safety, and peace. Israel is a colonial apartheid state that has robbed, oppressed, and killed Palestinians on their own land for decades. The IDF claims to be "defending" Israel while they demolish family homes and slaughter men, women and children. I have already talked about this on my main blog and on other social media platforms, but I want to say this everywhere: the Israeli state is committing genocide. We must all make our voices heard and demand our governments work to stop this brutal ethnic cleansing. Post, talk, and protest. Also, write emails to your government representatives. Let them know that Israel's ongoing mass-murder is deeply abhorrent to you. Let them know that support for Palestine is enormous. Let them know that you will never vote for a politician who supports genocide. It seems that most Western politicians care little, if at all, for the lives of Palestinians. But they do care about getting themselves and their parties re-elected. Let them know that supporting Israel will lose them a huge share of the vote, and supporting Palestine will win them acclaim and support. Ideally, our political leaders would simply do the right thing. As it is, reminding them that Israel's genocide is disgusting to millions of voters will pressure them to do the right thing, even if only for selfish reasons. One day, Palestine will be free. Palestine will never die!
Another long corridor to nowhere in particular.
I'm not sure what this is - an art piece, or a piece of damaged industrial equipment? Maybe there is no answer. I am still surrounded by pink, blue, and purple lights.
I have indeed found my way to more shops. The layout of the mall seems to be ever-shifting, but the storefronts feel more familiar than the subway tunnels did. I wonder what else I'll find in this seemingly endless expanse.
I seem to be leaving the subway station. The lights here are still tinted in neon hues. I wonder if this will lead me back into the mall proper.
It's strange to see construction equipment here. If this place can be said to have been built, it certainly wasn't assembled by human hands. At least, not directly.
I rode the subway for a while. After a few stops, I came to a station bathed in purple light and decided to disembark.
I'm going to ride the next train and see where I end up.
There are several floors in this subway station - it seems that trains run over and under each other in nearby tunnels. The layout of the area appears quite haphazard and nonsensical. I'm going to take a train and see where it goes.
I had been hearing rumbling sounds in the distance periodically. As I moved toward the source, I felt a rush of warm air in tandem with the low noise. I have found a subway running through the mall. As expected, the conductor's compartments of the trains appear to all be unoccupied. I did manage to get a good look inside the front of one train as it stopped - the driver's seat was empty, but an old-fashioned, bulky computer was wired into the control panel. I wonder if these automated trains used to carry crowds of people, or if I'm the first human ever to set foot in them.
I can faintly hear music echoing through this empty space. It sounds like Drops of Jupiter, but it's hard to tell.
I found myself wondering what used to be in here, but then I remembered. This mall, though real, does not seem to be of our world. Did a human being ever set foot here, physically, in waking life? Or has it only ever been visited in dreams? Was it dreamed up empty, or do shops close even here?
I feel so comfortable in this area. If I can find something soft to lay on, I might sleep here for a while. Day and night are meaningless - nothing but memories now. Yet every so often, I do get quite drowsy. I've been sleeping remarkably well, though I often dream of the mall, so sleeping and waking are sometimes barely more distinct in my mind than day and night.
Another long hallway. No matter how far I walk, I never seem to vet too tired.
This staircase spiralled around several times before I reached the bottom. I now hear a droning sound in the distance.
