Rules of Engagement

I guess I should have done this years ago, but... RULES.

-I am not terribly selective, but the posts that most inspire me will get the most attention. Everything will be replied to eventually, though.

-I can sometimes be slow to reply. Poke me! Just... not too hard.

-J.D. is primarily in the TF2 universe. If you want to borrow an AU version of him for any other universe, let me know! Depending on the fandom, I’ll likely be up for it.

-J.D. is my interpretation of the canon BLU Soldier. That said, I will try to follow most guidelines, but will also be filling in my own blanks.

-18+, please. This blog will occasionally, but not always, take part in NSFW RPs or reblog NSFW images. Please plan accordingly and unfollow if you are underage or if such imagery upsets you.

-Please do not follow if you are pro incest, pedophilia, racism, child or animal abuse, or rape. Anti-choice, Anti-LGBTQ+, and/or displaying all other forms of bigotry should also unfollow. None of these themes will be employed in RPs without good reason, and never in a positive light. -That said, J.D.’s past does include being the victim of child abuse, as well as participating in WWII, so all appropriate trigger warnings are in force for that. RPs involving said past will be tagged accordingly and put behind a readmore. If you need to unfollow to avoid these themes entirely, this is extremely understandable, and I hope to play with you on one of my other blogs.

-Common sense RP etiquette should be exercised. No godmoding without permission, no killing off my character (exceptions can be made for muses with respawn capabilities, but again, please ask first).

-J.D. is, by nature, loud- many posts will have HIS DIALOGUE BE IN ALL CAPS TO DEMONSTRATE THIS. He will lower  his voice if he has a reason to like who he’s talking to, but any antagonistic RPs may involve him refusing to quiet down.

-J.D. is a singular-ship character and is taken. Your character can try to flirt if they wish, but be forewarned he probably will not be receptive at all. That said, he is as passionately loyal a friend as one could ask for, so if he likes your character he will be more than happy to be close to you in that regard. -Have fun and be safe!

Abelärd gave a soft little laugh as he patted a particularly thick stack, threatening to fall over. "Unfortunately... I do not know how much you can help, liebe. This," he ran a finger down the edges of the papers, "is all medical based. Unless you want to talk to me while I work. That might make the process go faster."

And keep him awake. Two cups of tea in, and he was exhausted.

“Okay. I can do that.” Pulling up a chair, the Soldier sat, gazing at the massive mountain of boredom that adorned his husband’s desk. Yuck. This wasn’t fun at all and it was going to take absolutely forever. They could be blowing things up. Or flying through the air. Or playing with their dog and cat and raccoon. Or anything else. Latrine duty was more interesting than this. So was KP duty, or at least Jane assumed. He usually wasn’t allowed to help cooking. For biohazard reasons, apparently. “You know. You could just take that stack and stick it on someone else’s desk.” On one hand, he wasn’t one to advocate for shirking one’s duty, but it seemed like Abel always got stuck with all of the stupid paperwork. It was annoying and not fair.

Abelärd gives a tiny little cough and a clearing of the throat, but nothing can hide the coloring to his cheeks or the tiny upturn of his lips, betraying a smile.

"Happy 4th. Fireworks, as usual?"

“Yep. It should be dark enough soon.” Sluuuuurp. There was an impish twinkle in the Soldier’s eyes.

Abelärd cheekily reached out and slipped the bomb pop out of his hands, just as he pulled it from his mouth. With his own impish little smile, he stuck it in his mouth.

“Sweet Jesus.” It was a muttered exclamation, but one said with a giant grin as he watched his husband comandeer the popsicle. On the other side of things, he could see what a tease he must have been. Effective. Growling softly, he tugged the German close. “Christ, Abel. You’re this close to making me want to forget about the damn fireworks. I wanted to talk to you about something too, but damnit, that can wait too, I think.”

The Big One

Booms filled the air and colored sparks rained down dazzlingly. Jane grinned- one of his better displays if he said so himself. But he was running out of the small fry. Even his bigger rockets couldn’t compare to the mortar he was given. And the Soldier couldn’t stop grinning at it. He could barely contain himself. This was going to be the most outstanding finale he’d ever done. He’d have to make Rasturn a medal if this went off as planned. Tucking the gigantic rocket under one arm, he jogged over near the RED base. He found the patch Rast had suggested and set everything up. Tested the wind. It’d be no good if the infirmary got set on fire. Nope, everything seemed kosher. He lit the fuse. Jogged back. The rocket flew up into the air- probably whizzing past a certain grouchy raven of a Medic’s window- and burst overhead. The bloom was gigantic, golden sparks seen for miles and miles away. The kaboom? Probably wasn’t a single window in Coldfront that wasn’t left rattling in its frame. It sounded like the sky was splitting in two. Jane was left with a dropped jaw and wide eyes. “...magnificent...”
