The Transfeminist Womanism Archives
You can access it here. Please reblog this post when you see it so more folks can get access and so I can get more recommendations to add to it lmfao
This archive isn't complete, as no archive ever is. I'm constantly taking suggestions on what to add to it or changes to make. If you'd like to see something added to the archives or are having technical difficulties, please send me a DM. Current content categories and archivist's note below cut.
"Anonsee, what is Transfeminist Womanism?"
Transfeminist Womanism itself is a synthesis of both eponymous ideologies, seeking to fill the gaps formed within each that often leave out Black trans women - racism within transfeminism, transmisogyny within womanism - when Black trans women are often the people that need those ideologies the most. Transfeminist Womanism is a primarily Abolitionist ideology, finding value in the rhetoric, knowledge, tactics, and tools of anarchism, communism, and other ideologies without falling directly into any of those categories.
Additionally, I've curated a "Foundational" folder that gives guided reading to help understand the underlying principles and thoughts behind Transfeminist Womanism.
If you're an author of works in the archives and you'd like to be added to the tip list, please send me a DM and I'll add your information. For fiction titles and art, I'm only accepting works from Black and/or transfemme authors/artists to be added to the archives.
NEW: If you are Black and/or Transfemme and would like to potentially include your art in the archive - visual, audio, or otherwise so long as its digital, DM me!
If you'd like to tip me for curating this archive, you can do so through vmo @AnonseeStoryweaver or Cshapp $tshenta
Works within these archives primarily focus on the following topics:
-Transfeminism
-Womanism ("Black Feminism")
-Disability Justice
-Restorative and Transformative Justice
-Ecofeminism
and subjects related to them.
this a beautiful archive, and includes work by one of my elders and mentors Lorenzo Kom'boa Ervin who, along with his wife Jonina Ervin, are organizers, writers, and all around lovely people currently living and agitating in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Lorenzo needs emergency dental surgery, and they are raising $$ via fundrazr. i feel appreciative to live in a time where i can support living members of a rich political tradition, who have fresh ideas on the path forward and hands on knowledge of what works and what doesn't with regards to organizing. their work is foundational to my thought processes, as well as many active organizers today - please consider engaging with both their writings and contributing to their current life expenses!
Please support us by making a contribution!
Anonsee has painstakingly curated a thorough archive for people to educate ourselves on transfeminist womanism and be good allies with. There was never an excuse to not learn to be better but now even less so. Please go through and share this archive!
And say thank you to Anonsee and all other black transfems, as well as Lorenzo and Jonina Ervin + all the writers and artists 🩷 Please support them all by sharing and donating (if you can)!
I was gonna follow you cause you had a cool name but it turns out youre just some fucking terf loser who hates trans men. So pathetic of you girlie please do better.
Or kill yourself. Either way is fine with me.
least transmisogynistic chaser
This is what colorism in media looks like.
K.C. Undercover: dark skinned men, light skinned women. the one dark skinned girl is portrayed as mean, apathetic, sadistic, and cruel.
The Proud Family: dark skinned men, light skinned women. dijonay, the only dark skinned girl, is portrayed as "ghetto" and "rachet" alongside her entire family. and suga mama, who can be argued is dark skinned, is portrayed as mean, cruel, and abusive. additionally, trudy, the mother, comes from an entire family of dark skinned people. yet she herself is portrayed as very much light skinned.
trudy proud's family (left) vs trudy proud (right).
The Hate U Give: the dark skinned main character starr on the cover of the book (left), vs. in the movie, where she is played by amandla stenberg (right); a light skinned biracial actor.
nina simone (singer, left) vs zoe saldana (actress, right), who played her in the 2016 biopic "nina".
stagecoach mary (right) vs zazi beetz (left), who played her in "the harder they fall".
ororo munroe (storm, center) vs the actresses that played her in the x-men movies (alexandra shipp - left, halle berry - right). and alexandra shipp, herself, is also colorist.
monster high: clawdeen wolf (right), vs. the actress that plays her in the upcoming monster high live action movie (miia harris, left). it also appears that they artificially darkened the actress' skin for the role.
strawberry shortcake franchise: orange blossom, who was lightened between her 2003 design (left) and 2009 design (right).
The problem is there. You see it. This whole "we're all black at the end of the day" bullshit is the exact mindset hollywood uses to justify the erasure of dark skinned women. None of this will EVER be okay. And the fact that y'all consistently find the same goddamn excuses to justify shit like this is exactly why dark skinned people don't fucking trust y'all.
imagine you're a child, you learn your queer and your parents are extremely bigoted. you have some friends on Roblox who are very kind, they're in their early 20s and they sympathize as they went through the same things as a kid. they offer to use your correct name and pronouns, maybe some even offer to buy you a binder or help you find hrt or support groups local to you
roblox rolls out their age group system, and you can no longer talk to any adults on the platform. you can only talk to people in person, i.e. your parents, who are horrid. now you're back at square one, being helplessly abused. to make it worse, you're homeschooled, as I was. you can't reach out to anyone at school for support either.
or maybe you're not homeschooled, and you ask your pronouns to be used at school. it goes well for a while, and you feel some relief.
then your state passes a bill that requires forced outing. your teachers report to your parents that you've been trying out a different name and pronouns.
they pull you from school, send you to boarding school or conversion therapy, and force you to attend private schools in the future that match their values.
you are entirely under their control. you could've made connections with other adults, ones willing to help you out. to treat you like a human, give you access to life saving care. and it's stripped away, you're alone, and everything feels hopeless.
this is the reality for many children. this is almost exactly what I went through as a child. it is not a mere hypothetical, it happens regularly. please stop falling for this moral grandstanding, it's about control- it's always been about control.
a post appears on my dash saying that we should stop thinking of trans women as women and trans men as men and start thinking of them all as just trans. i go to their blog. i look up transandrophobia. the first post is whining about how trans women are sooooo mean for talking about their oppression. my blocklist gets longer
When I stop seeing my sister's killed, isolated from their communities and cut off from mutual aid sure you might have something close to a point that would STILL be ignorant and wrong but it would at least sound reasonable 👍
Also it's not discourse! This is my fucking life! This is an axis of oppression I face every day! This isn't proshipper drama or whatever where everyone goes home after. This "discourse" is disproportionately harming my sisters in comparison to their "equals"
was told to post my tags i left on this

#my recent ed psych readings were on gender #and the reading for women is how many girls are forced into roles or archetypes
#roles that reinforce both sexual innocence and also physical attractiveness
#intelligence but not being so smart they act better than their peers
#a super girl who has to be a high achiever and have five different extracurriculars and be a role model #all while being pressured to be a future mother #to give up their dreams and ambitions immediately for 'the right man'
#these beliefs are instilled in young girls #elementary school girls
#and meanwhile the reading on boys is #like #boys dont like talking about their feelings because other boys make fun of them for that #and girls... dont???
#no im not apologizing for saying this #in a patriarchal sexist misogynistic society #women ARE treated worse than men #this exists across minority groups #lesbians are treated worse then gay men #women of color are treated worse than men of color #and trans women are treated worse than trans men #this is not discourse or oppression
#this is intersectional feminism one oh fucking one! #the only reason you would ever thing trans women do not have it worse than trans men is if you are a sexist pig mra
#or if you think trans women are not women #and in either case you need to fix your heart or just fucking die. End ID
Not gonna act holier-than-thou because I understand to some extent there's a variety of factors that shape people's understandings of systems of oppression.
That said, there's this essentialist framework of seeing the world that is assumed to be the default. So when trans women vent about trans men, some trans guys hear that as them ascribing some ontological evil onto us when no transfeminist actually believes this.
This is the men in our community projecting their own essentialist framework onto the women/transfeminine people because unless explicitly addressed by way of excessive disclaimers, it's assumed all critiques of a person/group's behaviour is akin to them being given the mark of Cain and thrown on the pyre. When really it's a call to action.
It's also men struggling with the concept of being held accountable by women. It's why some of them react to SE in the manner they do. Men feel women owe us neverending opportunities to "redeem" ourselves. Throughout the world, in almost every culture and community, women are sacrificed on the altar for male self actualisation. Transfeminists are punished because they will not relent and allow our community to remain that way.
Honestly when someone says “Oh anti-trans legislation is going to affect cis women too!” I do start seeing red because when you say that all you’re really communicating is that trans women are acceptable targets of patriarchal violence.
That gender should in fact be policed to make the lives of trans women scarier and more dangerous, as long as it doesn’t affect “real” women.
This is why TMA/TME are appropriate terms to use. Because trans women and femmes are the intended targets of this violence. And the only time an uproar is made is when someone who is not an intended target is discriminated against.
Because even if a TME person is hit with transmisogyny they can redirect it by the fact that are not the true target.
i can’t believe this is a real thing adam scott actually said tonight at the DGA Awards while presenting with rhea seehorn

“Hello, wanting to provide context to why I need continuous help with survival funds. I'm a single mom who also caretakes for my disabled child. He is high needs meaning he needs help with everything through out the day. I'm disabled myself. I have long covid which mostly entails POTs, ME/CFS and uterine fibroids. When I was last working I ended up in the ER from overworking my body and decided it was best for me to stay home especially since my disabled child was already struggling so much with the caretaker he had at the time. I also have a trans child so we live in California where it's safest for her and my family in general as two of us are disabled. I'm working towards getting on disability at the moment as well as exploring options to be paid to be my son's caregiver as his behavior gets worse when I'm not the one caring for him. Nothing goes unappreciated and I truly try to thank anyone who helps to the best of my ability. I suffer chronic fatigue so my spoons are limited. Thank you if you read this”
Please help however you can!
Fwiw, that Robert trivers email to Epstein is exactly how most tme people talk about futas or femboys or whatever they call their preferred abstraction of trans women in porn.
To be clear when I say “tme” I don’t just mean the child cis dudes. I’m also including the tme fandomites
its not surprising that they think this way, but it is sobering to see rich sex traffickers use the exact same "best of both worlds" line that everybody else does.
it invokes similar feelings to finding out how the two teens who killed brianna ghey texted each other asking whether she was a femboy or a tranny
I cant call it reassuring, but sometimes with the way everyone dismisses the transmisogyny of these common attitudes, its hard not to doubt yourself and think maybe they are right. maybe we are seeing problems where there are none.
But, we can see pretty plainly that the people who abuse and murder trans women talk about us the same way everyone else does. we're not making it all up. it is real.
Girlthing is such an important word and concept. It's like. Literally a girlthing. It's like if people actually let trans girls be non-binary.
On Dentists
So I can’t brush my teeth. Like, it’s the worst kind of hell. I went to the dentist for a cleaning today and I told the hygienist this, and she was wonderfully helpful.
There are some incredibly soft toothbrushes available- namely, post-surgical brushes. Running them under hot water makes them even softer.
She told me that you don’t really need to use toothpaste- it’s mostly marketing. The foam gets to me, so that is really reassuring.
She gave me two particularly soft brushes and some xylitol gum. Trident is a market brand of xylitol gum, which helps with your teeth and can make your breath smell better.
The whole purpose of brushing is to disrupt plaque buildup. You don’t need to brush twice a day, every day with toothpaste if you brush correctly- little circles, focusing on near the gums (where most plaque builds up). So if you’re having a bad sensory day and can’t brush at all, it’s not the end of the world.
Hell, you don’t even need a toothbrush if even the post-surgical ones are too harsh. Going over your teeth with the same motions using a washcloth is enough.
She wants to find a fluoride rinse that has a taste I can stand (peppermint is the only mint I can stand) but she’s not particularly worried about it.
I go to Dr. Barr in Chicago. If you can get to the State St. Macy’s, his office is nearby. He’s very kind and patient and really understanding of my needs as an autistic person. The hygienist, I don’t know her name, announced everything she was going to do before she did it, and stopped frequently to see how I was doing.
This is really the only positive dentist I’ve ever had- past dentists have been too rough and not bothered to help find ways I can actually brush.
Basically this is a glowing recommendation for Dr. Barr’s office if you’re autistic, afraid of dentists, or have sensory needs. This is a recommendation even if you don’t have any of those things.
Im actually crying i feel like this post was reblogged for me oh my god oh my god oh my lord thank you
You can also dilute your mouthwash and use it to swish around if it burns. My dentist does this so consider it dentally approved
If you were feeling guilty about your brushing habits, either due to sensory issues, pain, allergies, executive dysfunction, or just plain fatigue, here’s what you need to know about what is and isn’t necessary if your dental care!

I don’t know what to do to prepare or how to help my brothers stay safe after she’s gone, I don’t know how long she has, I don’t know how to keep our dad from leaving the state with my brothers if/when she dies, who is going to keep them out of the system now? I don’t have a house they can live in, I don’t have a job that section 8 will approve of to take over her lease, I haven’t spoken to dad in years because of his gross obsession with my body- and he probably hates me so I don’t have a chance to care for my baby brother even if I was stable enough to take over as their mom. I don’t know what to do but try even harder and I can’t stop crying. She hurt me in so many ways but she’s the only one trying to be there for me now. She’s the closest thing to a parent we have and the fact that she didn’t even tell me, what can I even do?
