—(  ✽ )— "No— it was rude of me to yell at you. You hadn't done anything wrong. I also wanted to thank you for letting me stay here... I think I'll go back today.”

"I'm sorry! I was out of line.”

❝It’ll be bad tomorrow.❞

—(  ✽ )— "...Ah. Well I suppose that's a good enough reason as any.”

"By the way, Yusei; about yesterday...”

—(  ✽ )— "You're going to drink that entire bottle yourself?"

As the tea came for them, Jack took the liberty of pouring for Aki first, then for himself. Like its name implied, the fragrance of roses wafted up from the steaming cups, and the tea seemed to be tinted pink against the white porcelain. 

"There’s something I need to know." Jack asked, raising his cup so that he could take a sip. The liquid proved too hot, so down the cup went again, against the accompanying saucer. 

"Do you love Yusei, Izayoi?"

—(  ✽ )— Her fingers had gone as far as hefting the tiny cup to her lips before she immediately set it back down. Jack's words mingled awkwardly and cloudy in her head, a question that she then turned back to herself.

 Honestly, she had never given it much thought before. She enjoyed being near Yusei, she owed him much— but love? What did she know of love?

"I don't have an answer for you." She said, words as clipped as she could manage.

  She raised her eyes from the table to look at the man across from her. She would not avert her gaze in such an important topic. Especially because... hadn't she noticed the way Jack and Yusei behaved around each other? That inkling rested with her, quiet, hidden beneath the surface.

"What do you take me for?" 

In a display of gentlemanly behavior that he usually would not have reserved for Aki, Jack pulled out the chair for her at his favorite outdoor table. Not once yet had he raised his voice in any outburst, nor had he seemed anything but completely calm and surprisingly polite.

"I know that you kissed Yusei earlier." he informed her, after leaving the order for a pot of the tea for the two of them to split. Today’s budget didn’t allow for coffee, not when there were more pressing matters.

—(  ✽ )— Jack's unusual behavior did not go unnoticed. Though she knew the man to be well received by most, their relationship was a bit... stoic in comparison. Had he chosen a public place intentionally or was she over thinking it? Her posture remained closed off and reserved, shoulders drawn back and hands folded firmly in her lap.

"Saying it that way makes it sound intentional." She peered at the empty porcelain cup before her, lashes half closed over amber eyes. "I know I should apologize to him. I knew that as soon as the words left my mouth. I had no proper reasoning to be mad. I just had to gather my thoughts before I did..."

"Haven’t you had it? It’s good for sore throats. Like the kind you get when you’ve been crying."

—(  ✽ )— ”Cr— I wasn't crying.” Mutters all the way to coffee shop.

"I’m treating you to rose tea. And we need to talk."

[blxckrosewitch]

—(  ✽ )— "Rose tea? You've got a horrible sense of humor... but, fine."

"We’re going to the cafe. Come on."

—(  ✽ )— "What—? ...I— Alright, but... why so suddenly...?"

"Izayoi."

—(  ✽ )— "Oh— Jack. Sorry, I didn't see you. Do you need something?"

—(  ✽ )— "... ... ..."

—(  ✽ )— "Of course I'm not alright! You don't have the slightest idea!" Huffs and storms away.

—(  ✽ )— "I didn't mean to! It was an accident! You're the one who—! Augh..."

❝Not sure. Wasn’t there.❞

—(  ✽ )— "...I'm sure he wouldn't want you to overdo it either. Have you even eaten anything?"
