“It just might be. It’s gonna cost you, though.” This spoken in a lilting upward tone, almost a sing-song.

Without meaning to he began to wonder what this was all about. It didn’t look like Otogi was in turmoil. Maybe it was a game of some kind?
❝Don’t need to play tricks if you want my help. Just ask.❞
xduelon:
So this man knew who Judai was? It was a start for their conversation at least, the stranger had to be on well terms with him, “our school has three dorms. Obelisk Blue is the highest, mainly for those with money and top grades.”

❝So the wealthy gather in one place and everyone else has to fend for themselves...? Guess its not so different here.❞
He spoke flatly, not intending to accuse, and did his best to keep his disappointment at bay. It was still far too early to set conclusions in stone. First impressions were often deceiving (any duelist worth their salt knew that).
millenniumpharaoh:
This wasn’t at all what he had expected from the other, especially with how…things had been with them. His ruby irises widened a small fraction, his lips parting as he took a quick, intake of breath. This was…
Atem blinks as he removes his hand from the other’s hold. A strange tingle now occupied the place where Yusei’s hand had been.
“I’m alright. I am somewhat curious if the food is different in this time…”

Knowing that this was real, that the Pharaoh was actually in front of him, had helped to settle stirred emotion but it did nothing to rein in his thoughts. At least a racing mind was easier to hide than a heart caught in one’s throat. Yusei set about starting up his bike; the king of tubo duel’s D-Wheel was never too far away and he was glad to have something to keep his fingers busy.
❝Gonna warn you, its not as good. Especially not in these parts.❞
Beggars couldn’t be choosers, as the saying went. He shifted as far forward as he could to make space for a passenger.
❝Think you’ll fit in back?❞
millenniumpharaoh:
It had been a long time since he had seen the young male. Too long in fact. Atem takes a small breath as he approaches the other male. His hand reaching out to him. “Shall we grab something to eat?”

He instinctively extended his own hand to shake only to find himself reluctant to break from the moment. There was something calming about the contact despite the overall insignificance of the gesture. It made everything feel less surreal and from that piece of stability Yusei drew upon confidence.
❝Sounds good... Guess I should be the one offering. This time you’re visiting me. Though, m’not sure if there’s anything in house. You okay if we go out and find something?❞
millenniumpharaoh:
“Coincidence? Perhaps. There could be another reason I am here or none at all. I am not one to question the will of the Gods, Yusei, but it is nice to see you again.”

❝Yeah... Its good to see you, too.❞
His smile faltered after a few moments, unable to stay afloat with an ocean of mixing emotions so near to his usually placid surface.
millenniumpharaoh:
“I never thought you would think of me…ah. Mm. Nothing has happened that is of worth to speak of. I suppose its just…thoughts.”
░░▒▓███ ᎩᘮSᙓᓰ ℊσ ►
❝So its... a coincidence? ...You being here, I mean. Seeing you again. Guess that’s better than having some kind of disaster hanging over our heads.❞
millenniumpharaoh:
“Yes, well…I never thought I would be here truthfully.”

dejaouija:
Ryou was no stranger to magic, having been exposed to it since he was just a tiny child. Intertwined with fate that had been sprawled across several millennia and receptive of the spirits surrounding him, the paranormal and metaphysical had always been there in the palms of lithe, pale hands. Even time travel was something that the ghostly apparition of the Millennium Ring was familiar with, but for it to be related to technology? Something that someone such as his guest could get his hands on? That was unheard of.
He did not have much to add to the conversation between Yugi and Yusei; for the most part, Ryou stayed to the side, occasionally nodding to himself as he spaced out and chuckled at a few of the remarks that his dear friend made in his excited frenzy. Yugi had always been akin to the spring time to the ring bearer– full of life, whereas he himself was the winter, quiet and serene. But, even the winter billows and can bring a great deal of commotion; when he hears the man who rode the D-Wheel comment on being from a different time period, Ryou perks up, dusky brown eyes widening in shock and aw– so much that he accidentally makes quite the embarrassing sound in the back of his throat.
It makes sense that Yugi would know somebody like this. It should be of no surprise.
As the conversation came to a close, Ryou bid his farewells and goodbyes to Yugi, assuring that his guest got out everything that he needed to say before reaching over and lightly tapping the screen to end the call. With that, Ryou’s attention shifts over to Yusei.
“The future!” The spectral boy retorts, “Goodness– you are a far ways from home then… Aren’t you? Well, whatever reason you are here, I am certain that Yugi will be able to assist you. He has a ways of solving problems and bringing things to a close, even if they are the most turbulent and bothersome situations,” he offers a quiet smile, getting up to his feet.
“As I mentioned, you are free to stay for as long as you must. I have a free room that you can use. If you follow me, I can show you around. Since you are not from here, I imagine there will be quite a few things that you aren’t familiar with. I certainly hope that I can accommodate for you.”

It was with the blessing of the crimson dragon that he was able to utilize his D-Wheel and journey into the past again. Whatever it was that promised to disturb the future was obviously rooted here, in this part of the timeline, waiting to be found. Was it his destiny then to play a part at a critical juncture even though he couldn’t yet see the bigger picture? Like Yugi, like Judai (another proud duelist he’d met in previous travels), this meant the hope of many rested on his shoulders. He laid his hand over forearm, calm yet acutely aware of the sacred mark he concealed beneath his clothes.
Naturally Bakura was taken aback the moment he learned of his guest’s mysterious origins. Yusei calmly nodded, confirming what his host had just exclaimed, for there was absolutely no reason to deny what was now obvious. If anything it was a relief that his story was so easily believed for it would have been difficult to prove on short notice.
❝Got a lot of questions? Won’t blame you for asking but I don’’t have a lot of answers.❞
He hoped that a deeper discussion with Yugi would shed light on the overall situation. The more he reflected on it though the greater his concern became. It was strange that nothing had immediately come to mind during the call; neither Yugi nor Bakura seemed threatened by any goings on. Did that mean that the calamity hadn’t yet begun here? Could it be prevented entirely or would he be thrown into a fight like before with combined fates in the balance? There was also the possibility that the damage had already been done, unnoticed, but that seemed less plausible. His crimson patron wouldn’t have committed such a grievous error when sending him to the past.
Good fortune did its best to shake off his unease when Bakura re-offered him safe lodgings. It conjured matters he’d previously given thought to. A shower, food and drink, a place to sleep and prepare himself for unknown trials.
❝Appreciate it. Think I’ll need all the help I can get.❞
Without knowing the layout of the apartment he couldn’t efficiently navigate it on his own. He had no choice but to wait and fall into step behind Bakura.

Coming to Poppo Time after school had become something of a routine for her. Often the tenants would be working on something in the garage or off doing some sort of work (save for one, but that wasn’t something she concerned herself with). If no one was there she’d go straight home – no time felt wasted, though always with a lingering disappointment in her chest. If there was someone there however, she’d poke her head in. Or try to, at any rate.
She couldn’t offer much help in terms of tinkering and repairs – she came to them for that after all. But it was nice just see how they were doing, busy or not, and feel… well, something during the day. Returning to this ‘normal’ routine was, for lack of a better word, tiring. Despite the changes being made towards a (hopefully) better future, things weren’t going as smoothly as hoped. But one could say that was to be expected. You don’t exactly lose the stigma of being a Witch over night.
Regardless, the redhead was pleased to find the garage occupied by one of the other Signer’s today. A particular raven haired one to be exact. Aki pauses by the door, having not yet been seen by the man silently mulling over a computer screen. Maybe it was best to leave him unbothered? He often got absorbed into his work, often times barely noticing the passage of time until the day was done. It felt… wrong to disturb him in such instances. But she also knew it was just as wrong to ignore the protests one’s body might have throughout the day.
So, with a small inhale, Aki gently knocks against the door to the garage, hoping not to startle the other with her sudden appearance.
“Yusei,” She greets him with the smallest of smiles, stepping further into the building with a slight tilt of her head, “… Working hard?”

Now that he’d noticed the rumbling void inside himself it was harder to shut out the gnawing that came with it. He needed to eat something (especially since he couldn’t remember when he last had) or the discomfort would only become more demanding. A glass of milk would be the quickest fix provided there was any left in the fridge to consume. He tended to go through their supply quickly because of days like this, steeped in work. Maybe he’d be able to throw a quick sandwich together too?
Yusei eased his chair back in order to get to his feet only to pause in mid turn. Even though he knew necessity was spurring him it remained difficult to walk away from work. His thoughts continued to gravitate towards what he’d been invested in all day. Upgrades weren’t easy, especially when he was trying to incorporate experimental new features, and there wasn’t anyone around to hash concepts with.
If he stopped to think about it being this alone was unusual. Had his usual companions made a mention of going out that he’d forgotten along with the time? He liked to think he would have remembered if it was for anything important.
Just then another sound was caught by his ears but this one didn’t have to fight as hard as his stomach to get his attention. He immediately looked toward the source: a familiar red head, an important friend. The corners of his mouth quirked, discretely mirroring the expression she met his gaze with. Though the smile soon faded into his usual nonchalance his fondness for her remained in his blue eyes.
It’d been some time since they’d last seen each other. Now more than ever he was glad that he’d decided to take a break.
❝Guess so. Trying anyway... How about you?❞
millenniumpharaoh:
Atem had kept himself busy on the couch for the last few hours. A now finished book lay on his lap. Since now he arrived in Yusei’s garage, he had been here reading the book waiting for whatever the man to finish whatever he was doing. Atem may have ridden a motorcycle before, but was not at all knowledgeable in how they worked or how to fix them. He brings his legs back over the edge of the couch, letting his ruby hues fall on the young man before him.
“Not sure. But we should probably eat…” And get inside to a warmer place.

That voice.
There was no possibility of mistaking the speaker for someone else. Even if he’d only ever heard it once in his life he’d remember that stirring baritone. Like a memory engraved in his bones, invisible to the naked eye, he instinctively knew and yet a shadow of doubt held him in his tracks. Was this a dream? Was he actually still asleep on the floor? He felt so numb as he stood there, staring at the hero of the past’s casual demeanor, that he forgot about his aching back.
❝...Didn’t know I had company.❞
His throat was dry so the words came out quieter than he meant them to.
░░▒▓███ ᎩᘮSᙓᓰ ℊσ ►
The first time he heard it the grumbling noise sounded far away and unimportant compared to the work in front of him. His stomach persistently complained until its loud peal couldn’t go on being ignored.
❝Guess I better take a break.❞
