If you climb over the fence? I think there's actually a gate but there also isn't really a lot of room for studying back there, it's a pond The area outside the fence is lovely for studying though without soggy pond ground

What is the chamber of secrets in Thomas?

It's a room in the basement that's just really cool. People write stuff on the poles and walls :) everyone should go check it out at least once, consider leaving your mark on the place <3

What building is the blue bus stop at?

It stops outside of the pem arch on the other side of the street! I'm pretty sure there's a bus stop sign there too but that's where it is

Do you know if there's a place to craft/ do art on bmc campus? Like a room or something?

Yes!! There's a place behind/ across the street from denbigh/Dalton called Arnecliffe that is run/ maintained by the Art Club :) in order to get the access code you need to email the art club president (I think that info is on the BMC website)They need to keep track of who has the code so they can keep us accountable of keeping the space clean

This might be a silly question, but is a requirement designation the same thing as a prerequisite? For example, if a class says that it's requirement designation is division 1: social studies; does that mean that the course counts as a division 1: social studies course, or that you have to have taken a division 1: social studies course to be able to take this class?

is this for a bryn mawr or haverford class? I’m really sorry I don't know the answer to this one :(( but if classes have prerequisites it usually says that pretty clearly on bionic... You can also ask your dean about this when you get to campus, or email them!

How high can you get a non-captains bed (with bed risers)?

So I have no idea, but I consulted with my friend and they told me that “It’s a couple feet. Enough to fit a suitcase.” So I don’t know the specifics (I’ve only ever had a captain’s bed) but I hope that helps at least a little bit

Hey, this blog is a great idea! If I could suggest one thing it would be that the theme makes browsing a little difficult. It's hard to know how far down the page goes or to find tags. But the posts you've made are great. :D

Hey! I totally understand that. I’m having trouble finding a good theme as I’m actually pretty new to tumblr in the grand scheme. Do you have any suggestions as to a good theme? (but don't worry- I am looking for a better one!!)

Towels

If you're lazy about doing laundry (no shame, no shame), consider bringing two bath towels. It really isn’t healthy to reuse the same one without washing it for more than 3 uses (although I’ve done it too, again no shame).

I also found having a hand towel useful, because my hall didn’t have paper towels or anything, for after I washed my face or maybe for a cup that I washed and needed to let dry but there was no space in the tea pantry.

Lighting

In most dorms, the lighting is quite cave-like. So seriously consider bringing floor lamps, desk lamps, etc!

Rainy Dayz

An Umbrella is something easily forgotten when packing for school 

They sell small pocket umbrellas that are about the size of my hand and don't take up much space, perfect for a cramped dorm room. 

Consider buying one if you aren’t cool with just wrapping a scarf around your head when walking through the downpour :)

wet wipes

Baby wipes, Lysol wipes, Hand wipes. WIPES. Just Sayin’.

They are super useful!!!! Ex. When my room got dusty, I swiped em over the windowsills, the open desk space, above my mirror. No one should be breathing in such dust. Also, the bathroom is down the hall, and sometimes having a wipe is the best thing.

If you have a Facebook, join the BMC groups and see if you can find the previous occupant of your room. They’ll be able to tell you things they found useful specifically for that room, as well as telling you the specifics of the furniture that was in the room the last year. Also, you’ll hopefully come out of it with a friend/ acquaintance at Bryn Mawr :D

Beds

Try and find out what kind of beds your room has before you go dorm shopping. That way, you’ll be able to tell if bringing under-the-bed storage is a waste of time and money, or a fabulous idea.

Floors

Try and find out if your room will have carpet or hard wood flooring. That way, you can tell if you want to bring a Swiffer or something like that.
