Some simple life hacks for lazy/forgetful people
1. set your keys on top of your car with your phone/mug/bag so that you can’t drive off and knock the stuff off the car.
2. make your bed when you get out of it, even if that means just laying the comforter flat. it will prevent you from getting back into bed as easily and is a nice surprise when you get home.
3. do not let yourself go to sleep without A. checking your planner/calendar, B. putting away your clothes from the day C. washing your face and brushing your teeth D. feeding/watering your pet or plants E. feeding/watering yourself. It seems hard, but all of this takes about 15 minutes (30 if you have to cook something), and allows you some peace of mind and organization, as well as guarantees your wellness.
4. put things you need the next day in your shoes/in front of your door/ on your coffee maker/etc. so you won’t forget it
5. if you want to go the extra step, set up your morning beverage/food and outfit the night before to save you time and/or allow yourself to sleep in a tiny bit more.
6. exercise/stretch while watching netflix. whether you do crunches or squats or jumping jacks, a little bit of fitness goes a long way. (and watching something distracts from how annoying exercise can be).
7. reward yourself. If you do everything in your planner that week, get some cheesy bread. If you keep your room organized for a week, watch a season of a show one night. if you get everything done before lazing about, chill for the rest of the night. little rewards reinforce the positive behavior, and it will help develop better habits.
I hope this helps you guys. These are just some of the things I have been doing or recently started doing and my life has become more organized and peaceful where it was stressful and chaotic. Baby steps everyone!
Towels
If you're lazy about doing laundry (no shame, no shame), consider bringing two bath towels. It really isn’t healthy to reuse the same one without washing it for more than 3 uses (although I’ve done it too, again no shame).
I also found having a hand towel useful, because my hall didn’t have paper towels or anything, for after I washed my face or maybe for a cup that I washed and needed to let dry but there was no space in the tea pantry.
