Permission from my interviewee and models
Approval of Video to Post Online.
I saw Courtney's tutor today to check if my interview was suitable for posting on the web. She asked that I change a few things in my credits such as adding a link to WELTEC. These thing were easy to fix and I am relieved that this is all I need to fix. I also need to get permission from all the models whose photos are used in the clip. This should be easy enough to do.
Final interview for MDDN 211 - Digital Video Creation.

Editing Music
I began editing my sound as I had a humming noise in my audio that I had to get rid of. Because I recorded in the ergo lab, the audio does sound a it echoey however, I think this is less noticeable once the music plays over the audio. There was also a slight popping/ clicking sound that I could not get rid of no matter what I did, so unfortunately I had to leave it. I decided to duck my audio in audacity as it was easy and effective. I exported my music and my audio separately so I could change the audio gain in premiere.
Photos
As I am mostly working with photos as B-roll footage, I needed to come up with a creative way to show these without it looking like a silly slideshow. I found it really difficult uses mostly photos however, I came up with an idea of using coloured boxes to slide past and reveal each picture.
However, I thought the photos still look kind of silly. I really wanted to show the entire photo however, this just didn't do my video justice. So I decided to enlarge each photo and focus purely on the make up on the models face, rather than the photo as a whole.
Speeding Up
I filmed Courtney doing Henrietta's make up, which I will use as b-roll. However, it took Courtney over an hour to complete Henrie's make up. Therefore I had to speed this footage up by 7000% in order to cut it down to 20ish seconds. Though, I think it looks good speed up this much.
Fixing Footage
I realised today that I hadn't set up my camera for rule of thirds. However, this is easily fixed as I filmed in the ergo lab. I simply layered the footage on top of itself and moved it over slightly so the background is extended.
I also corrected the colour as it showed up quite dark. Now it is much brighter and more white. :) Much better.
Cutting Footage and Syncing Sound
I filmed my interview today. After taking the footage into premiere I realised I had far too many questions. But hey, better too much than too little. I managed to cut 17 minutes of interview down to 2.30 minutes which is good as it gives me 30 seconds to play around with.
I began to sync the recorder sound to the video. I found the easiest way of doing this was to play it by ear, by also playing the camera sound at the same time and adjust it until there is no echo. Than I would delete the camera sound. I found that clapping first made it a lot easier to sync the sound.
I began shooting today. It was a very successful shoot. Thos footage will be used in Brolls.
I found this music which I intend to use for my video. It reminded me of the runway and fashion, so I thought it would suit the theme of my interview.

This interview is interesting as the interview is taken while the interviewee is performing their activity.
Make Up Artist Stuart Freeborn Interview

I thought this interview was good as it uses images. As I will be images also, this may be a good precedent.
Fashion Designer Michael Kors Interview
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EX06pCWJiEM
I decided to look at some interviews before I begin editing my own video. This interview uses a lot of good Broll as Michael Kors talks about certain topics. I also like how this video shows images at the beginning of the interview, as I will also be using images and this is a good example of how I could show them
Permission to Film at Weltec
I emailed my interviewee's tutor, Daniela Pike, for permission to film Courtney doing body painting in the studio. She talked to the head of school and approved this for me - on the condition that I show her the interview before posting it online, which is absolutely fine. :)
Permission to Use Wellington Fashion Week Footage
Oosh Multimedia had some beautiful footage of wfw 2013, so I emailed them asking to use some of this footage as B-roll for my interview. They confirmed however, they asked to see the final interview. Which is all good :)

Storyboard
For my interview, my sister, Courtney, has agreed to participate. As she is currently studying special effects make up, I though she would be interesting to interview.
Because her course surrounds make up, I decided to colour my storyboard with makeup to create a nice aesthetic.
This is my final video.
