Regarding kaito and shin: if they end up married, they need to figure out a way for phisical affection that doesn't end in tragedy for any of them.

They do figure out ways to not hurt each other, but physical affection is not the be all and end all of a relationship :) they have plenty of other ways of showing affection and taking care of each other that don't require physical contact!

I feel there was a lot of hinting about ships, and I'm curious what was intended to be canon, and what you see those dynamics as

I definitely did a lot of teasing about ships but very little confirmation, partly because for some of them I was willing to make a change and make other combinations end up together if the audience could see it growing organically

There's an old post talking about endgame ships here! I'm sure other members of the cast also ended up dating people/getting married in adulthood, just not necessarily with people they went to highschool with

Out of those I listed last time, I think Mika/Sazami might be my fave dynamic. Think CaitVi in terms of cool collected crime solver x big rowdy roughhouser (except they're both on the same side and they have a cool motorcycle)

One of them has razor-sharp teeth, sandpaper skin and a phobia of blood, and the other has very delicate skin around his mouth that if damaged can cause severe bleeding, plus a gland in his mouth that basically produces gasoline. Maybe not the safest combination 🩸🔥

Civilian name: Jin Torimichi

Age: 29

Pronouns: she/her (trans woman)

Quirk: Electron Body - a transformation quirk that converts the users body/body parts into pure electrons, allowing her to "conduct" through conductive materials like wires, cables and metal surfaces. She uses this to phase through materials and travel across large distances incredibly fast, especially in urban areas where power lines are abundant

She's a night-time pro hero and spends a lot of her daytime as a semi-popular streamer. Her gimmick is that even her gaming persona doesn't take the mask off so the general public doesn't know what her face looks like. She's a bit of an extroverted loner, she finds talking to people/the camera pretty easy but she prefers her own space. She definitely doesn't get enough sleep. She takes on one of my other characters (Zero) on as an apprentice as he's a big fan of hers and they bond a lot when he does an internship with her

How were Shin and Kaito going to start dating?

After their transition from bully and victim to actual competitive rivals to "nobody understands me like you do but I still don't like you" allies in first year, they eventually embark on a tentative friendship and actually start to get on pretty well. Shin catches a big dirty crush some time in second year, but it's in the midst of all the other awful stuff that's happening to him (his quirk is basically overexpressing itself and causing him all kinds of health problems and he's too scared to ask for help but he's also convinced he's going to go nuclear and either die or hurt a lot of people) and the last time he had a crush on a school friend and revealed his feelings, he got utterly rejected and it ended up destroying the only friendship he had at the time, and he doesn't want that happening again, so he keeps it all bottled up in a cocktail of denial, repression and self-deprecation. Kaito has absolutely no idea about any of this

Kaito doesn't even realise he likes boys (he's bisexual) until third year, and suddenly a lot of things he thinks about Shin make a lot more sense. But he also doesn't want to make a move, because he values Shin's friendship a lot (something he worked very hard to cultivate) and he knows that Shin is super focused on doing well at school and he doesn't want to be a distraction. He figures it's only a few more months until they graduate, and by then he'll know for sure if this is a proper crush or a fleeting thing, and if it is real then he'll tell Shin how he feels and see what happens

Of course it's never that simple, in the big finale showdown at the end of third year (the final season of the anime lol) Kaito almost dies of his injuries, and Shin almost dies using a fusion of his quirk and a healing quirk he got from a temporary injection to save his life. Once they've both recovered they get to finally talk about their feelings; it's clear they care about each other immensely but don't know if anything romantic would work. They agree to give it a try, and if it feels weird they're still friends. Five years later they get married lmao

Dating by the end of high school but not necessarily endgame for life because sometimes life just doesn't work out that way, I haven't decided:

This blog is kinda retired now, because I'm not really working on the Made Not Born story anymore - I still love all the characters I created but the story was just too big and unwieldy and I never found a way to tell it that I'd have been satisfied with. I might come back and do some short fics of certain events, or some mini comics, if I get the inspiration to do so. I'm also going to be putting everyone's profiles on Toyhouse (@/jamscandraw) where I'll be writing up a TON of lore that I don't think I've ever posted anywhere else

That being said that now means that because there's no story coming out, there's no such thing as spoilers anymore! You can ask me absolutely anything about the characters or the story I had planned, and I promise I won't say "you'll have to wait and see ;)" like I usually do. No limits, ask whatever you want!

Deciding to adopt a policy of “ask for forgiveness later rather than permission now”, he gently scoops the still-snoring Shin into his arms and carries him off down the corridor, trying very hard not to make eye contact with all the hospital staff and other patients that stare as he passes.

Im not sure if anyone actually asked this question yet, but how would you personally feel about people writing your mha characters x canon characters (platonically or romantic)? I know most would feel uncomfortable with it, but do you have some sort of rule book for it? like who would date who?, who would get along with who?, a personality analysis so your characters still feel like yours?, preferred gender of partner for the character?, would you even like to read it? All those sorts of questions.

I don’t think anyone has asked this specific question before, so I’m afraid I don’t have a rule book as such! I’ll put some rough guidelines but also please feel free to get in touch and ask about more specific things because this is all super vague

OC x Canon (platonic): absolutely fine! Because the vast majority of my kids are in the year above Midoriya and the main canon cast I haven’t done much in terms of making them interact but there’s still plenty of scope for some fun friendship/mentorship dynamics

OC x Canon (romantic): really depends on the character and feel free to ask about a specific pairing but I would say as a rule of thumb, unless it’s an established ship that I’ve mentioned, no thank you. I have plans for a lot of my characters in terms of relationships and most of them are canon x canon (which people are allowed to do!! as long as it doesn’t clash with anyone’s gender/orientation. My friend wrote some Shin/Jamie fanfic years ago that I still think about regularly). If they’re a background character I’m more open to people picking their own ships for them but the main cast are kinda off the table in that regard

Who likes who/character analysis: if you check the individual name tag for each character on my blog, chances are there’s some in depth writing about at least some aspects of their personality which should help. There’s more at @bnhamadenotborn and asks are always open if there’s something specific you want to know

Preferred gender of partner: feel free to check for specifics but I love a crackship so unless a character is listed as explicitly gay, go for it

Would I like to read it: absolutely! As long as there’s nothing explicit (gore, violence, sex, anything else that would require a trigger warning) I would love to read something written about my characters

He can be quite blunt and standoffish if he doesn't know you well or isn't comfortable around you. He's not trying to be rude, he's just not good at small talk with people he's not close to

He's very skilled and very powerful. He's got a highly logical brain and can usually be relied on as the problem solver, de-escalator or otherwise The Sensible One in most situations. Also he's just like, effortlessly cool looking

42. What’s the typical first impression after meeting this person?

Cool, calm, collected, the quiet brooding cool-jacket bad boy kinda stereotype

43. What do people notice first about them, as far as their appearance goes?

Probably the tri-colour split in his hair (and his eyes, if you're close enough)

He's not very good at outright lying and tries to avoid it, but he's not above lying by omission and just not telling you stuff at all if he thinks it's the right call

What would Murph's quirk be in a BNHA AU?

Quirk: Slime Wield

Hero Name: ???? (I haven't thought of a good one for them yet so any suggestions are welcome)

An emitter quirk in which the user secretes a purple oozy substance from their skin, which they can then manipulate and use as long as it's still connected to their body. The ooze is thick and viscous and can be used for strengthening limbs, making armour, making spikes as weapons, grappling people from a distance etc etc. It is an incredibly tough material that is hard to slice through and only destabilises at very high temperatures (or if the user loses focus), but it takes a lot of energy for the user to constantly produce it. It degrades in quality over time if the user has not had a chance to rest and eat.

Once it's detached from the body, the slime dries and hardens and acts a bit like glue. It can be used as a temporary binding agent to repair damage to buildings/vehicles, and in a pinch it can be used to seal up a wound as it's airtight.

Initially Murph just secretes the slime from their arms/back as and when they need it, but at some point during early adulthood both of their arms have to be amputated at the elbow following an extremely gruesome injury. After that, they have permanent slime-arms that they use like prosthetics and can manipulate both like normal hands and as weapons/shields/ropes like they could before.
