How to detect if the sample cylinder is leaking?

There are 4 ways to check gas leakage in sample cylinders:

3. Balloon expansion method: Use a soft rubber tube to put on the air outlet of the sampling gas cylinder, and connect the other end to the balloon. If the balloon swells, it is considered to be leaking. This method is most suitable for leak detection of highly toxic gas and flammable gas.

4. Chemical method: The principle of this method is to touch certain chemicals prepared in advance with the gas at the leak detection point. If a chemical reaction occurs and exhibits certain appearance characteristics, it is determined to be a leak. For example, check the leak detection point with cotton dipped in ammonia water to check the ethyl chloride cylinder. If the chlorine white mist is generated, it will prove the leak; check the liquid ammonia cylinder with the red litmus paper moistened with water, close to the gas cylinder leak point, if the test paper is red It turns blue to indicate a leak. This method is only used for leak detection of certain highly toxic gases.
