Emergency contact- Callum Hudson-Odoi
pairing: CEO!Callum x PA!reader
note: let’s give AU’s another try yeah?
“you have one call princess” the guard sneered “make it count”
with that the cellphone was tossed in your direction, you haphazardly attempting to catch it as cleanly as possible but the alcohol in your system impaired your limbs ability to move coherently. Focusing your vision, with cold and shaky hands you dialled a number you shouldn’t be, getting half way through before erasing it
“he’s probably sleeping” you mumbled taking a look at the time on the corner of the phone
the night hadn’t meant to end like this, after a rough week at work, closing in on a deal that had kept you in your bosses office until forbidden hours, just you two, the proximity, the compliments, the conversation over the 2AM Chinese takeout had you falling before you realised. All you wanted was to clear your mind, reset your systems and come back to professionalism
but a fight had broken out, a girl accusing you of flirting with her boyfriend when it had been the complete opposite. Next thing you knew a fist connected with your jaw, you blinked and you were ontop of her and then blinked again and the red and blue lights had illuminated your vision
“you done princess?” the officers gruff voice pulled you out
you sniffed, wiping away at the tear of frustration that had fallen before shaking your head.
“one second” you choke out, fingers moving without thought anymore just pure survival
the phone rang once, twice and picked up on the third
“Hudson-Odoi” the deep, sleep laced voice answered
“Mr Hudson-Odoi, i-i need your help” you say quietly
there’s a noise on the other end, Callum sitting up you presume
“what happened?” his voice is sharper now
“i- i got into a fight— she started it i promise i—
“okay shhh shh” Callum hushes you softly “don’t say anymore, where do they have you?”
“Meryside Station” you squeak out, tears threatening to fall once more
“your boyfriend coming to fetch you?” the officer smirks
all of 8 minutes pass before Callum walks through the doors, his crisp suit traded in for some sweats and a shirt, a hoodie hanging off his forearm
“you can release her now” he says to the officer
“that’s not how procedure w-
“i said” Callum looks him in the eye “open that holding cell”
“and who are you to be making such a call?” the officer fights back
a dangerously calm smirk adorns Callum’s face
“i wonder how the station commander would feel if he heard you wrongly detained his God daughter” Callum smirks fishing his phone out
the colour almost drains from the officer, a fumble of keys is heard before the door slides open.
you almost run into Callum’s arms, the hoodie being pulled over you as he throws a goodbye at the shaking officer before walking out, his slick black Mercedes idling at the entrance.
“mine” Callum tells his driver before turning to you “you okay?”
“yeah” you breath out “i know you’re not my emergency contact but i had no one to call”
“you did right” Callum interrupts
“i’m still sorry for waking you” you say, looking at your hands
“when last did you eat?” Callum asks you, ignoring the apology altogether
“i told you to call me Callum” Callum snaps softly “i’ll admit you did wake me up, hearing you that scared did scare me but you’re safe now”
you nod, still playing with the sleeves of the hoodie. The car ride is silent up until you notice the large gates of Callum’s mansion open
“you’ll sleep here and go home tomorrow” Callum says simply “just to keep you safe”
“you will” Callum says in a voice of finality
he helps you out of the car, alcohol still running in your system makes you wobbly but you steady yourself against Callum’s hard chest. Guiding you up the stairs toward a guest room where a meal, still hot sits on the bedside table
“i don’t think i can eat” you squeak out
“that’s fine” Callum says, a glass of water in his hand “here”
you take the water, gulping it down greedily before laying down, the adrenaline from the night now coming to a halt and exhaustion taking you off to dreamland before you can comprihend. Callum’s hand comes up, inches from your face, your sleeping self swallowed comfortably by his hoodie.
“sleep tight” he whispers out before leaving the room, the door closed softly behind him
“when are you going to confess” a voice says scaring him stiff
“you need to stop appearing out of nowhere” Callum breathes out
“when” his housekeeper asks
“one day” Callum sighs “when she’s not drunk”
“goodnight Maria” Callum says rolling his eyes
“goodnight soon to be husband” she smirks
