One of Sonic the Hedgehog's key beliefs is the importance of freedom, which in turn fuels his hatred of oppression.

The IDW comics expand upon this by positing that this extends to him also being against the idea of taking someone's life. As he believes that part of freedom is the freedom to change. Therefore, he doesn't want to take the choice to change from anyone by killing them.

Things we learned from the Sonic Twitter Takeover:

- Tails is JACKED! He is absolutely ripped. 

- Sonic has adhd and can’t sit through a whole movie. His favourite is “Chao in Space” (though he didn’t catch the ending)

- All the food in Sweet Mountain was baked by Eggpawns and consists of 99.99%  Chemical Plant Zone preservatives.

- Shadow promised Maria that he would never lie.

- Tails has only told three (now four) lies in his entire life. 

- Shadow smells like lavender.

-Tails has a mint addiction.

- Shadow writes poetry.

-Planet Wisp has a version of “hide and seek” called “don’t be seen or perish”, where whoever is found gets tossed into a volcano. 

- Eggman gets pedicures. 

- Shadow enjoys tri-tip steak and Vanilla’s cooking. 

- Shadow’s favourite part of the “30th Anniversary Symphony” was the rendition of “I Am…All Of Me”, which moved him to tears.

- Eggman invented a bagel slicer as a kid named the “Bagel-O-Matic 3000™″ and made trillions off it. That’s where all his money comes from.

- There were no bagels on the Space Colony ARK, only loose bread and no toaster. 

- Doom’s Eye is still alive. He and Shadow have dinner regularly. 

- Both Doom’s Eye and Shadow think Ginge Ale is the superior soft drink.

- Yacker prefers Diet Ginger Ale, no ice. Because he’s a menace to society. 

- Shadow has drip.

- Shadow enjoys eating coffee beans with a spoon on the moning.

- Eggman had an ex who hated eggs. He also might be bisexual. 

- Shadow likes sushi.

- Sonic is a huge wimp.

- Sonic actually tried to save Shadow at the end of SA2, but not wanting Sonic to fall with him, Shadow waved him away.
