D Double E @ Sureskank Bristol
Next up!
Following our last vibes filled event at Thekla, which saw Pay As U Go Cartel reunite to smash Bristol for the first time in over 10 years, we are back with something a little more intimate and limited edition. Bodynod will be taking over Copper Jack’s (formerly Romeo Browns for the older heads) to present the first instalment of our ‘Summer Shoobz’ series of events. For those that don’t know, Shoobz = House Party, which means that to really get with the theme, we will be transforming the club into a living room for one night only, the only thing that will be missing is the plastic cups. Bodynod is proud to present….. STICKY (Legendary producer of hits ‘Boo’, ‘Things we do for love’, ‘Tales of the hood’ + More) Richard ‘Sticky’ Forbes built his reputation as one of the countries leading club music producers in the height of the UK Garage scene. His distinctive sound not only made his music unavoidable in the clubs during this era, but also launched the careers of a number of the UK’s leading talents including the Mercury Award winning Ms. Dynamite. Sticky is coming to Bristol to rock the dance with a set full of the classic vocals that get the crowd singing along, but not forgetting them instrumentals that get the crowd shouting Boooooooo. Sticky Feat Ms Dynamite - Boo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnauS1rnDiI Sticky Feat Kele Le Roc - Things we do for love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8u-ey-sU9QI Sticky Feat Tubby T - Tales of the hood http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiowJ66mcRg Sticky Feat Stush - Dollar Sign http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vtLdW5Fezo RS4 (Audiorehab / Paper Plates / AKA Oris Jay / AKA Darqwan) Hailing from Sheffield, RS4 is making noise within the UK House scene, with his take on the genre which includes tracks full of dark heavy garage influenced bass that make you wanna screw yer face. RS4 is being supported by the scenes big players and is also part of Rinse FM Dj Mark Radford’s Audio Rehab label. If anyone is thinking that RS4’s signature bass sounds familiar, then its most likely because you have also heard his older Garage tracks produced under his Oris Jay / Darqwan guise that used to get hammered on Sidewinder sets back in the early 2000s. Bodynod welcome RS4 to continue what Lance Morgan did at our last event - educate Bristol on the UK’s fresh take on House. RS4 - Little Man Remix https://soundcloud.com/rs4house/sia-little-man-rs4-mix RS4 - The Massive https://soundcloud.com/rs4house/biggn-up-the-massive-rs4-house RS4 - In the Dark Conducta (Bullet Train / DPM Records) Whilst it’s cool to take a trip down memory lane with UK Garage, Bodynod would also like to push things forward in this department, so what better way then to present you with Conducta. Representing Bristol, 20 year old Conducta’s influences are drawn from listening to old Garage tapes, which is apparent in his productions full of that classic Garage vibe BUT with a new twist. Check out the most recent set he done on 1xtra for a taste of what Conducta will be serving up at Bodynod! Conducta - 1xtra Radioraving Mix https://soundcloud.com/conducta/radioraving-interview-guestmix/s-qiYcC Conducta - Let Go E.P (Out now) https://soundcloud.com/conducta/sets/let-go-ep-out-now-dpm-records K-Stylz (Black Dynamite / UKHD) Kamar Stylz is no stranger to the Bristol club scene, which he has been a part of since the age of 15. Before playing House, K Stylz was Bristol’s Number 1 for UK Funky, representing and pushing the sound all over the city’s nightclubs. We’ve asked for him to come and bless us with a set JAMMED with UK Funky favourites for the ladies in the house - which he agreed to with no qualms. Whytea (it-hz.co.uk) Bodynod have been recently checking a blog called It-Hz.co.uk that covers the emerging UK House scene (no, it’s not just Deep Tech lol). Whytea runs that blog and also DJs - so we invited him to come down and start what will be a massive party. ——— Doors: 10:00PM until 04:00AM Dress code: Dress to dance This event does have a limited capacity - so may be best to grab tickets priced at £5 in advance, which are available from the link below, or in physical format from Bristol Ticketshop.
