I've been a very fortunate person in my life. Most of "the bottoms" I've hit, I've jumped into myself. That being said, rock bottom is rock bottom, no matter how you got there. Sometimes I had help to get out and others I had to figure out on my own BUT, I never gave up/quit.

So simple and such a mind f*ck. I actually practiced this and didn't put a label on it. I quite literally practiced getting up early, to go to the gym. For almost two months, I made attempts to just get up early, make my coffee, and sit on couch because that was extremely (mentally and physically) difficult for me. Did it ever become easier? Honestly, not really however it became doable. Once it became doable, that was a mental win. At this point, I started another "James Clearism", habit stacking. So I developed the habit of getting up early, which I didn't like but found the ability to do it. I then added getting dressed for the gym. Yep, I LITERALLY would get up early and get dressed for the gym, and not go! I mentally, just wasn't there. Now granted this habit didn't take but, maybe a week or ten days for me to add to. Finally, after about two months, I started hitting the gym. I will spare you the longer story but, the progress slowly continued in the same way. Get to gym, maybe be there 20 minutes and done for once or twice a week. A few more times the next week and so on. It was and has never been a quick progress. I STILL STRUGGLE EVERY SINGLE DAY but, you keep trying. Some days, it's like this. I do all the things I'm supposed to do but, not seeing the progress I think I should see. Sometimes it's impatience and sometimes it's my perception that I've put in the work but, the fact is, it's not enough. What do I do? I keep trying and keep pushing. Wow...been a little over a year since I started this most recent fitness journey. Fortunately I had gotten in a groove when the world changed and wasn't going to let a pandemic stop me. Not to mention I knew I would thrive on my motto of "I will do what they won't today so I can do what they can't tomorrow." It's never too late to start and no better time than right now!
