OK, so I finally got to watch this movie on @netflix last night, and I have to say that i absolutely loved it. I had heard there was plenty of criticism out there, which Iwill assume will be the standard "the book was better" whinge. And hey! I understand, but the book will always be better than the movie.

However, sometimes you will come across a movie that will make you want to seek out the books and learn more about the world in which it is based. And that's exactly what Mortal Engines did for me.

A great blend of Australian, English and New Zealand talent was thrown in to the mix. And while I love to see Hugo Weaving in all his glory as the bad guy...

The real suprise for me was seeing 'Gunney' from The Expanse...

...she is such a badass!

While all the actors and characters were good, the story I really want to see more of is the origins of Shrike, the reanimated cyborg known as a 'Stalker'. However, I am sure that I will need to get the books in order to find all of that out.

So, while the critics may have panned this movie, and we'll likely never get to see a sequel, I do recommend adding it to your watch list.
