I just finished watching Sweet Magnolias and far out i hate whoever wrote the ending, I HAVE NO CLOSURE! I swear if they don’t make a season 2 I will cancel my Netflix account! Legit if you haven’t already, go watch it! Just know the ending to the season will mean you won’t stop thinking about it for weeks!!

Can I just say how f@#king awesome The October Faction is? It's been a while since I've really found a show I wanted to binge, let alone one I had no choice BUT to binge. You know what I mean, when you get sucked in to a show (The Expanse, I'm looking at you) and all you can do is keep hitting the 'Next Episode' button until your eyes bleed from the sunlight peaking through the blinds? This is one of those shows.

Meet the Allens, a family with an unusual history where the parents are monster hunters and their twin kids have no idea. Being called home from Japan due to Fred's (the father) dad dying, they return to the home town of the parents, which is when everything starts to go wrong.

I've heard it compared to Supernatural (which I have never seen, so don't hate me for it), but that's only after a cursory glance.

In the interest of NEVER giving spoilers, I suggest you give it the 3Ep test and download the first 3 episodes and see how you go.

Well, I'm just catching up on this series, which I believe has been out for a few days (weeks?) - still in a festive season purgatory and don't know which way is up - and have to say that I'm loving Cavill as Geralt. Firstly **full disclosure** I know nothing of this character and the world the story resides in. Like most, I have only ever known about the game - and even my knowledge is limited in that regards. So, for the hardcore fans out there, please forgive my ignorance. If that's not enough, well you can fuck right off (joking) :) . Ok, so straight out I'm three episodes deep (not far) and it has held my attention (with a little side trip to Another Life (Netflix)), which means it has passed the '3 eps test', so we're off to a flying start.

Like all good stories, kicking off with a battle is always a good way to get people interested, especially when that battle is with a giant spider-like creature. And that will be it for any *spoilers* in this post. So, apart from his role as Superman...

...the best role I have seen him in that shows his 'bad' side is when he starred in Mission Impossible...

...(that is by far my favourite gif of his) and played the double agent opposite Tom Cruise. This gives you an indication of how well he can play someone who is cold. I'm not sure how close this is to the game and books, but Cavill does a great job at projecting a callus Witcher, who under the surface gives at least a bit of a shit about others...but not much. By the third episode you are introduced to a slew of characters (The Bard is awesome), and several stories that are running parallel, and slightly interwined with that of Geralt. I have to say that I am looking forward to watching further episodes and now have to go and download them as my internet connection sucks. From the few posts I've made, you'll probably guess that I'm a fan of superhero, sci-fi, fantasy and Vampire flicks and shows. What is not known is my love of Anne of Green Gables. This show is the equivalent of foodporn for writers and lovers of the written word, not to mention having a spirited woman as the showrunner.

Thanks to Netflix, there is an updated version of this amazing show called 'Anne with an E'.

It follows a similar format to the original series, but is also quite different. While the original dealt with a young woman making her way in a man's world and perusing her dreams, not what is expected, 'Anne with An E' deals with far more intense topics that would have been present in Canada at the time. Topics such as:

Religion

Women's rights

Racism and bigotry

Classism

Mental health

The list goes on.

So far I think I'm 2-3 seasons deep (I just keep clicking 'Play Next Episode' and have lost count).

If you just love a good tale that pulls on your emotions, then definitely watch this show. Also, have a dictionary handy.

Finally watched the first episode of Netflix's Dracula...

And it's fucking brilliant.

No spoilers in this post - yet- but I will write it up later. If you're a lover of Vampire stories and movies, then this is a must-see.

So, I finished the 3rd ep of Dracula...

While I get the direction it took, I feel a lot of what made the first two episodes brilliant was lost.

The new reiteration of Renfield as Dracula's lawyer and lackie in the modern age is quite interesting. I especially loved the scene when he freed Dracula.

Still not sure what I make of the ending. All the revelations on the legends of Dracula, and what they really are.
