Just walk in the misty morning of a forest.
trinity is not used to aftercare. with yolanda, it might be a glass of water and the opportunity to use the shower but after that, it’s backs turned and the expectation that she leaves quietly and discreetly.
she assumes that’s what baran would want too. after all, she’s an attending. she can’t be seen with a resident.
so, when trinity spends the night at baran’s and quietly sneaks out once she falls asleep, she assumes this is how they’re going to go. out of the frying pan, into the fire, or however the stupid saying goes.
she’s not massively mad about it.
baran doesn’t have neighbours that watch her through a crack in the door or a doorman to do the walk of shame past nor do her floorboards creak when she’s tiptoeing down the hallway. no, her place is much easier to sneak out of.
that being said, she lives a lot further away from trinity’s apartment than yolanda does and it’s too late for ubers to be a reasonable price so she toughs it out and walks it, crashing the minute she gets through the door.
it’s fine. it was worth the evening.
the real trouble is when she gets to work.
trinity assumes it’ll just be another standard we-pretend-we-are-colleagues-and-nothing-else act that she’s used to. a lingering glance here and there perhaps, maybe a nod layered with something behind their eyes, but nothing more. baran’s a private, professional person, even more so than yolanda.
which is why she’s surprised when baran walks into the er with red-rimmed eyes, frazzled hair and a worried look on her face that says she hasn’t slept all night.
“where the hell did you go?”
gameoverse seems fun enough. but the cynical feminist in me can't help herself. all the male characters are like, cartoon blobs, which is contrasted strongly by the two major female characters in this pilot, both of whom are hour-glass shaped humanoid women who spend most of their screentime in swimsuits. and like that's not an outright dealbreaker but i *am* staring into the camera with my eyebrows raised.
idk i'm getting really tired of this "connecticut clark and malfina" type shit where male characters get to be Silly Abstract Little Guys but women have to be women shaped. it's this male-as-default thing that i hate where you don't need to add anything to a character design to imply male-ness but the woman better have wide hips and booba or else yknow like idk it's not outright Offensive but it is tiring
how it feels seeing a woman depicted in any media
I've just been prescribed Lexapro and I'm really scared to start it😭😭 I don't really want to be on medication but I've been having panic attacks every day for 2 weeks and there seems to be nothing I can do to calm my anxiety. I've already missed so much work, I'm afraid I'll get bad symptoms and have to miss more. and I haven't felt like myself in a little while but I'm afriad I'll feel even less like myself on medication. Do I just need to take the plunge and try?
In the spirit of encouraging people to comment on fanfics while also making it easier to do so, I feel obliged to share a browser extension for ao3 that has quite literally revolutionized the comment game for me.
I present to you: the floating ao3 comment box!
From what I've seen, a big problem for many people is that once you reach the comments at the bottom of a fic, your memory of it miraculously disappears. Anything you wanted to say is stuck ten paragraphs ago, and you barely remember what you thought while reading. This fixes that!
I'll give a little explanation on the features and how it works, but if you want to skip all that, here's the link.
Edit: Yes, this also works on mobile!
The extension is visible as a small blue box in the upper left corner.
(Side note: The green colouring is not from the extension, that's me.)
If you click on it, you open a comment box window at the bottom of your screen but not at the bottom of the fic. I opened my own fic for demonstrative purposes.
The website also gives explanations on how exactly it functions, but I'll summarize regardless.
insert selection -> if you highlight a sentence in the fic it will be added in italics to the comment box
add to comment box -> once you're done writing your comment, you click this button and the entire thing will automatically copied to the ao3 comment box
delete -> self explanatory
on mulitchapter fics, you will be given the option to either add the comment to just the current chapter or the entire fic
The best part? You can simply close the window the same way you opened it and your progress will automatically be saved. So you can open it, comment on a paragraph, and then close it and keep reading without having the box in your face.
Comments are what keep writers going, and as both a writer and a reader, I think it's such an easy way of showing support and enthusiasm.
Finding out that the general public hated lotr and thought tolkien was a terrible writer when the books first came out is wild because like. he literally pioneered this genre. people hated it at the time because they were confused by it. it was so new and visionary it took a generation to catch on and then became the blueprint for all future fantasy. just wild
sometimes the posts about how langdon and trinity are gonna be siblings and giggle haha friends in s3 are funny but also it's like i think u guys are missing a crucial factor into why she dislikes him so strongly and it's because she's watching a man in a position of power get away with abusing said power with minimal consequences after experiencing a childhood where a man leveraged his power to assault her and drive her friend to suicide. like if the show wanted to be true to her character i don't think she would ever forgive langdon but we'll see what happens i suppose
just witnessed ao3 going down in real time...maybe a sign i should sleep since i work early tomorrow...thank you universe

A bit of writing for a story that has been brewing in my head.
I feel like not enough people acknowledge how absolutely incredible honey is. It's completely natural, created by insects, and it's one of the most delicious, sweetest, prettiest compounds on Earth. It's really astounding when I think about it. I am a big, big honey lover. I almost never use sugar for anything. Honey in my tea, in my coffee, with sparkling water, with milk, on toast, on veggies, etc. I even think honey-based soda is better than any sugar-based soda. Honey contains sugar, but in a much more delicious and acceptable form. While sugar must be farmed and processed, honey is naturally supposed to contain it, and it comes from enzymes within flowers that bees collect and break down.
I treated myself to some UMF 10+ (very high antibacterial strength) Manuka honey and it's honestly the best thing I've ever tasted. And the fact that it's a super food that improves your immune system, can help fight off bacteria and treat wounds, and is full of healthy vitamins is a big plus.
I go to the farmers market every week and will usually treat myself with a small jar or at least a stick of raw, flavored honey. I personally love clover.
Anyways I hope this reaches other honey lovers. I just wanted to drabble on for a bit lol
all i do is win
what if you were having a BAD DAY at WORK and then your LESBIAN SITUATIONSHIP said NO FIREWORKS DATE let’s keep it CASUAL and then you got invited to a FURRY CONVENTION
trinity santos is a study in fandom misogyny because they gave her all the characteristics fandoms usually salivate for in men, being gruff, quippy and misunderstood with a tragic backstory but a heart of gold beneath it all. they put all this into her AND let her be a lesbian. she's everything you could ever want in a character but she's not a man so half the fandom either hates her or constantly mischaracterizes her as petty, callous and aggressive while doing mental gymnastics to baby the male characters around her
