He became her protector, when their mother passed and they were send to separate orphanages, he made sure to escape and rescue her. When they lived on the streets, he made sure they got a place to stay. When they felt alone, he made sure to find people to surround themselves with. He did several musical projects - rapper, singer, musician, with a natural talent to pick up any instrument - and fabricated and dealt drugs on the side. He knew EVERYONE who was anyone in the crime world of Chicago. When Nikki got attacked and got addicted to drugs because of it, he vowed revenge. Only the person he was trying to destroy was always one step ahead. A few years ago said person tried to kill Nikki and Veer jumped in front of the gun, being shot six times. Realising his decisions had let them to this, he decided to disappear. Why is he back? That’s something we can discuss!

It wasn't because they fell out of love. No. It was due to both becoming very busy with work and really life in general. It was like they lived in the same house, but hardly saw each other. Constantine is busy being an ER doctor and a seasoned vampire slayer at the same time. When they got married, each of them had kids of their own from previous marriages. Together they formed a blended family and all of them get along and are welcoming of each other. The only thing is that Constantine hasn't yet to tell his ex-husband that he's a vampire slayer.
