Crowley and Aziraphale: Crossing that divide
Reblogging today in honor of the 30th Anniversary of the original publication of Good Omens, by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
We’re on our side.
(Happy One-Year Anniversary for the GO TV show!)
Mr Gaiman, I have a Good Omens question. In the book, Crowley is depicted as deeply caring for humanity; he understands how material conditions affect the ability to do "good", he doesn't give up saving the world that easily. His attitude is highlighted by the way he's not remorseful about falling; he knows that Heaven's view of humanity is flawed. In the show, he displays regret for falling. Is it a deliberate choice? I love both versions, but I feel like book Crowley's empathy is more evident.
I’m not sure that book Crowley and tv Crowley are as far apart as you believe. The main thing that book Crowley has that tv Crowley doesn’t is long authorial descriptions of his state of mind and opinions about people.
…. I am now imagining long authorial voiceover narrations of Crowley’s state of mind happening in the TV version. After about five seconds, Crowley starts glaring and yelling at the narrator.
Narrator: Crowley very coincidentally - but not at all randomly - happened to find Aziraphale in France…
Crowley: it was random!
Narrator: and this chance encounter managed to occur directly after Crowley got his new coat with its superior tailoring and shiny buttons, which he hoped Aziraphale would notice
Crowley: I do not!
Narrator: which Aziraphale most certainly did
Crowley: I don’t care what he - wait, he does?
‘I was just in the neighborhood’
Happy Valentine’s Day
Commission for the loveliest @emsiecat who wanted a warm and cozy edit of Aziraphale and Crowley happily cuddled up together in the South Downs cottage.
Thank you for trusting me with your ideas, Emma! It was a joyful journey ❤️
[full size]
❤️ Oh my goodness, i am just so SO happy with this, you have no idea!!! ❤️
Such a gorgeous piece of art and it’s absolutely everything I wanted and envisioned from a commission. Guys, if you can I would urge you strongly to commission @thekaskproject-art because their work is just some of the best!
They’re just absolutely lovely and gave me a step-by-step of their process, keeping me in the loop at all times, and asking my opinion on every important detail of the picture. It’s wonderful to commission someone as conscientious as that.
I’m going to reblog the heck out of this over the coming weeks so be warned! 😆
Thank you again! ❤️
Oh heck! They’re married!!!
Neil Gaiman: Do you think he cheats on the toss? Douglas Mackinnon: A hundred percent. Neil Gaiman: Yeah, me too. I think it doesn’t even occur to Aziraphale.
Finished _(:3 」∠)_
Hi, so this is my story of how Crowley gives Aziraphale a new ring (and how i used up my drawing-good-hand-juice for the year). It’s a silver serpent with a yellow gem, like his eyes. Maybe it’s yellow topaz or something? I did some Google but I really know nothing about gem/jewelry, so…
I rewatch Good Omens (again) for reference and I think I get MS and DT features a little bit better now. Though, I still draw them differently in every page 😂
Oh and of course the aftermath,…
Crowley did a snap when they kiss to cue the lights and music and also stop time so no one can see him doing all these love dovey things with Aziraphale (oh you mushy serpent), but the staff and chefs are so used to all these proposals things, they sent them a congratulatory dessert and Aziraphale is stoked about it (they order one each but we all know where all the desserts end up anyway).
This post is long cuz I like how it flows like so but plz let me know if scrolling is tiring, I will change the format. Btw, I’m very late on fic, so please let me know if is there any out there similar to this, I’d love to read them.
And, hello @ineffable-bastard-crowley 👋
Previously, on how Crowley acquired Aziraphale’s pinky ring!
Hey! I finally started selling prints of this sketch =) Welcome to my Etsy shop.
Beautiful!!!
he just wanted to be warm, and he got warm ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Hello Neil, was wondering about something I've seen discussed. In the Bentley, Anathema sees A&C's auras, since it she didnt like with Adam, she have noted it. But she doesn't react differently to them, even later at the airbase. Does this mean angel and demons have human-esque auras or just Aziraphale and Crowley?
They have been here for 6000 years and are very good at not being noticed.
Crowley: You can’t make everyone like you. You’re not Aziraphale.
Warlock: Not everyone likes Aziraphale, Nanny.
Crowley: I need names.
