If not (or you’ve simply moved on) feel free to go on ahead and pretend you never saw this.
But, to the rest of you – and in “you” I’m addressing every single one of the wonderful, kind people who’ve reached out to me in private messages and/or have read and reviewed my fics on AO3…
I’m starting over.
As in, almost every single one of my fics across all fandoms will be permanently deleted in one week’s time.
The only fics I’m keeping up on my profile are Wayward Souls (Hunter x Hunter | KilluGon), a drop of rosewater (Hunter x Hunter | KilluGon) Before Midnight (My Hero Academia | BakuDeku), Shadow of the Day (My Hero Academia | BakuDeku), When the Sun Falls (Hunter x Hunter | KilluGon), and the most recently published work Fragile (My Hero Academia | BakuDeku).
This has been a huge burden on my shoulders and this decision in particular has been painful to think about.
The last thing I want to do is cause disappointment, pain, annoyance, hurt, etc. over deleting these stories. If this is the case for you, I’m so, so sorry.
Even then… this is what I need to do. Selfishly.
I’m simply not the same writer anymore.
I can’t write when I’m perpetually unhappy and loathing what I created years ago, in a different space, different mind, and different time.
I’m not happy with the works I’m about to delete. Years have passed, and I have been utterly silent without an update in sight for these fics. I would rather get rid of them than leave false hope in the air.
All that being said…
I want to make it clear that if any of you want to keep these fics around in your lives, I’m giving you until next Sunday (July 25th) to download each fic as a PDF. That way, you’ll have it in your possession for as long as you want after I delete it from my AO3.
I also may be changing my author name soon.
I’m giving this another go, with an open mind, new ideas, and at a point in my personal life that allows breathing room for this space.
If you’re angry, upset, or simply don’t care, I more than understand.
Your feelings are valid just as they always have been. Please understand that every single one of you are appreciated, adored, and treasured beyond measure. It doesn’t matter to me if you’ll swear to never read anything from me again; I’m so grateful that you’ve been around at all.
A firmer reminder: on next Sunday, July 25th, all of my fics except for the ones selected above will be deleted permanently.
