Tales of the Eventide Pride “Blinky red light”
On a "Detour" mission, the Eventide Pride hums through the night sky at a very high altitude. Captain Boones Leone is sitting in his command chair trying to look regal and not be annoyed by the blinking red light that is coming from the pilot's station. After a moment, he can no longer take it.
A large, toothy, FAKE smile grows on the Captain's face
Captain Boones
........ Pilot, what is that blinky red light there.
Captain Boones
THE...... ?... What? ... Why are you pausing?
Pilot
The altitude warning light captain.
Captain Boones
The altitude warning light?
Pilot
Yes Captain. That is the ... altitude.... warning light.
Captain Boones
(now right next to the pilot's face)
huh.... that seems so...weird. .... because, I assumed that thees one was the altitude warning light.
He points at the light next to it that is labeled "Altitude Warning Light" and then proceeds to poke at it as he looks at the pilot.
Captain Boones
So tell me Pilot... What is that blinky red light there?
He now pokes at the blinking red light.
Pilot
I.... ahhhhh...
The backup altitude warning light?
Pilot is heard flying off the side of the ship into the night shy. The CRS (Crew Retrieval System ) springs into action and a loud roar of frustration is heard. Followed by thrashing. New PILOT is now sitting in the pilot seat.
Captain Boones
NEW Pilot!
Captain Boones
Ah! Well done! I like yew!
The Captain pats the New Pilot on the shoulder.
New Pilot
THANK YOU CAPTAIN!
Captain Boones
...... Nice! Ok ....ahem... NEW Pilot. What does this blinky red light mean?
