Chinese tech vocabulary: chargers, cables and ports
Needing to buy headphones and being unable to specify that you need wired headphones and NOT wireless ones can happen to anyone, so here is some technical related vocab in Chinese to help.
yankees will see 16 million canadians harmed by ongoing wildfires and act like we set them on purpose. meanwhile six first nations communities are under emergency evacuation protocol, one has been completely destroyed, and the entire province (1.5x the size of texas in freedom units) has the netflix mexico piss filter over it. but sure, it sucks that you can't sit by the pool!
if you'd like to donate to namaygoosisagagun first nation, who only had minutes to evacuate via boat before their community was burnt to the ground, you can do so HERE
wtf are you talking about, they didn't "deplete" the nature of their country, they cultivated their wilderness over centuries into some of the most idyllic pastoral landscapes in the entire world. And they did such a good job of it that the phrase "English countryside" is now synonymous with beauty and serenity and peacefulness. They didn't destroy their country's nature, they became its caretaker, they're right to be proud of it. All you're doing is pretending that the only kind of nature that should count is whatever is completely untouched by human hands.
The UK is literally ranked in the bottom 10% of most nature-depleted countries in the world. The 2023 State of Nature report shows just how dire the situation is. A third of UK bird species have declined since the 1990s, 97% of the UK's wildflower meadows have been lost since the 1930s, raw sewage is constantly being pumped into our rivers and seas with agricultural slurry also causing massive damage to rivers, three quarters of Britain's hedgehogs have been lost in the past 20 years and UK butterfly numbers are at their lowest ever, a sign of impending ecosystem collapse. Plus people in Britain are the most disconnected from nature in Europe.
Not to mention over populated deer destroying what little is left due to a lack of predators, 60 million non-native birds released for sport shooting every year, plus huge amounts of wildlife crime, including large numbers of birds of prey being shot/poisoned.
There is nothing beautiful about a sterile, ecologically damaged landscape that contains nothing but sheep and deer. Don't comment on something you clearly know nothing about. I live in England. I can see first hand just how dire the situation is.
makes sense that this "the-perfect-wagnerite-again" mfer spewed some braindead shit because just one quick look at their blog shows that they're scum with nothing valuable to say. just look at these racist-as-hell tags they put on a post:
i'll never understand how someone can think this kind of bs and continue living with themselves.
I don't think Odin collapsing in the vault scene was within his control but I nonetheless think out of context it hits the kind of abusive parent move others can only dream of lol. like they WISH they could faint and nearly die when confronted in an argument, instantly summoning compassion and worry from their child
i am very weak for the “ruthless person who develops one (1) ounce of ethics because the person they are obsessed with wouldn’t approve of murder” thing.
Guys should I buy a complete collection of Agent of Asgard for $39.99? I've never bought comics before so idk if that's a good price, also is a small family owned business so I'm okay if it costs a bit more because of that. Also what do I need to know before reading that?
Tagging @therese-lokidottir and @worstloki because I know you've read those comics and could tell me what to know before I read them.
It's on the official marvel site for $39.99USD as the complete collection, so it's the same price as what you've said. It's on amazon for <$25USD .
It's cheaper on Etsy too, low as $15USD + shipping which is probably the best if you prefer a resell.
It's in the comments already but if you wanted to compare the complete collection to buying each issue, it's usually about 3.99 USD each, and would be more expensive for all 17 issues. Complete collection cheaper.
If you don't want a physical copy digital is usually cheaper.
If you don't want a copy and want to read the comics for free try borrowing from a library or reading them on online sites <( ̄︶ ̄)↗💚
You don't need to know the lore before reading the comic but if you want to know what happened before...
For lore (spoilers for comics taking place before Agent of Asgard): Loki was old before and died (sacrificed himself to stop a partially-his-own evil world-ending plan). Loki then reincarnated as a kid. Kid Loki was very pure of heart and trying to fix his (Loki's) reputation as an evil entity. Because he was 'still Loki', there was a lot of skepticism about this but Thor was generally supportive. Kid Loki proved that a Loki could be good, before promptly being spiritually killed and replaced by a fragment of the older Loki. This is the Loki we meet in the Agent of Asgard comic.
He is no longer the evil old Loki but also isn't the same as the innocent kid Loki. He also feels bad about this, because he didn't have a choice about killing/replacing the kid Loki. Basically no one knows that kid Loki died and got replaced. But since the kid was doing it Loki is still trying to follow that path to have a fixed reputation and be liked.
got a crick in my neck and a frog in my throat and a chip on my shoulder and a stick up my ass and now you're gonna stand there puttin words in my mouth? haven't I been through enough?
basically the best thing any character can do is decide they don't want to be afraid anymore - in fact they never want to be afraid of anything ever again - and take action so drastic they fail to realise that this too is a decision motivated by fear. or to account for the Consequences of that.
[with obvious perverted intent] hey. don't you want to release the safety catches on that character. don't you want to flip off all the switches holding them back and let the control rods go.
