ok i think i focused too hard on making them cousins more than johns but Here is my attempt at. katamari johnacy. design notes below tha cut (warning: long)
personally i am a big fan of some of the cousins being objects or not having a standard cousin body shape (e.g. cosmi, drooby, kyun) so i kinda wanted to lean into that. also i forgot to give them Hair. So tjat’s probably one of the reasons why they do Not look like johns. whoops.
mojo is, obviously, based off of flans’s gorgeous mojo chessmaster. the six antennae representing the tuners was more just something that made me laugh rather than a clever design choice. it looks ugly, i know, but it made me giggle so it’s staying on him. anelo is based off of the marinucci recanati accordion that linnell had. he’s holding it in that one image from 2000 thats like. really jaundiced?? idk it’s on tmbw go find it yourself!!!!!! also the rim around his face is metal i just Barely knew how to show it
mojo’s name is from the mojo chessmaster, obviously. japanese name is also mojo because i am Not coming up with another one. anelo’s name is me shoving “accordion” and “nelo” (liverpool-ification of linnell’s name) together. i tried to come up with a more creative name, but i hope you can forgive me for giving up. japanese name is mugyu, an onomatopoeia for “squeeze” or “hug”. y’know, cuz like. you squeeze an accordion.
