A post to mirror one I made a while ago - shots from my commute Fall 2019 edition. Interning in a litigation firm downtown!
Cambridge appreciation post
Recently reactivated my library card and I’m so happy I did! I’m done with paying for books and movies tbh!
The fall spirit is alive and well in New England
We love a good Charles River Kayak session
Tom’s Bao Bao in Harvard Square is my food recommendations of the day/week/month/lifetime
Shots from my daily commute 📷
So this winter sucks. I’ve gotten the flu twice, it’s cold as hell but it’s only snowed about twice, and both times on days when I didn’t have class. What’s the point of a good snowstorm if it’s not going to get me out of class.
0/10 would not recommend Winter 2019.
Nothing quite like fall in New England
No better way to close out summer than watching a Sox game from the Green Monster 🙌🏻
Can you feel it, Mr. Krabs
What Did One Lawyer Say To The Other Lawyer?
We're both lawyers. I'm now accepting bets on how many times I will tell that joke during law school orientation. Probably three. I am both incredibly repetitive and unnecessarily proud of my bad jokes.
I spent last week in good ole Carmel, home of delis, churches, the occasional cow, and Sybil Ludington, war heroine of my heart. I adhered to a very strict schedule of waking up, doing nothing, taking a nap and repeating. Occasionally I stopped to panic about law school, which I strongly believe was good emotional groundwork for the panicking I will do for the next three years. I'm anticipating an ulcer. I've already named him.
Northeastern has spent the last two months sending us emails essentially telling us to relax before law school starts. Imagine me, someone, who has never relaxed a day in her life, visibly twitching in response to the idea of "taking a break". Yesterday I took a bath, which seems to be in line with that they want us to do, however, I stayed in said bath so long that my fingertips actually went numb so perhaps not the idea. I even moisturized afterward. While doing so, I literally thought to myself "can you believe some people do this every day?". My body is not so much a temple as a trash can.
In an attempt to "set my affairs in order" before school (their phrase, not mine, although I do appreciate the insinuation that I am marching towards my grave), I went to IKEA to buy one or two household items and uh ended up spending 5 hours there. This is a fine and good example of my time management skills that will no doubt come in handy in law school. Relatedly, I stared directly at the sun during the eclipse despite the vehement warnings not to. Good proof that I am great at following directions, a skill that will no doubt come in handy in law school.
In more important news, I finally finished watching the West Wing. This is a capital letters Big Deal because I essentially started this show eight years ago. My previously discussed time management skills likely played a role here. I'm not a proud woman. And anyway, I think I was born the minute Josh Lyman kissed Donna Moss. God, what a good show. Someone, please get me a Bartlett for president pin/shirt/ten-foot banner/custom printed park bench. Orientation is on Monday and I have mad reading to do so maybe I should stop dicking around on the internet and get to that...
