What was Hogwarts students’s reaction to the fight that occurred and Maddy cursing Sirius and James ?

Great question! The chapter didn't really show it because Madeline was locked into them in her rage, but the crowd was definitely still there.

In Snape's Worst Memory, the crowd all laughed at Snape. Some might not find the Marauder's funny, but they all laughed, because it's the Marauders. And the Marauders are like the jock of Hogwarts. You got Sirius Black - considered to be the most handsome, richest, smartest, funniest guy (a whole dream boyfriend package), James Potter (Quidditch star, handsome, funny guy, son of the Sleekeazy's Hair Potion inventor which is still a really huge thing in the 70s), Remus Lupin (who is mysterious, quiet, but really nice - if you receive one help from him, you will probably have a minor crush on him for some time because he's that charming), and then Peter Pettigrew (who is really good at hyping them up). They're the popular guys. The it guys. Getting pranked by them can literally boast your popularity. The stories of their pranks on you can become lore-worthy. Do people hate and feel annoyed by them because of their hexes and mean pranks? Oh yes. But they adore them? Also yes.

To put it simply, they are like the Regina George and the plastics of Hogwarts.

When Madeline told Sirius and James to their faces that they are torturing Snape constantly because they thought halfblood-Slytherin-Snape as lesser than them and the other purebloods, people were too stunned to respond. When she called them a bully, they started to think : well yeah, what she said was basically true, but they weren't aware that they could put it into words like that. They thought it would just something people have to silently accept. Because that's just how things usually go. And they never really thought deeply about why the Marauders singled out Snape all the time because they had normalized the situation in their head, and Snape is just a grumpy, quiet, loner boy for everyone anyway, so why must people care about Snape when they can all laugh at him?

When Madeline put the pustules on their forehead though, some people gasped (those poor handsome faces!), and some laughed (it's like pimples - who wouldn't laugh when the handsome jocks got pimples?)

They are not aware that the curse is semi-permanent, nor are they aware that the curse is dark. They just see what they see and judge and behave from it. In their eyes, it's like Regina George getting fatter and humiliated in public - the resentment in them basically blooms into joy. They feel satisfied.

And that, my friend, is how the general populace of Hogwarts perceive the Lake Incident.

(Oh, and when Mcgonagall came, they all quickly dispersed because Merlin forbid they got detention during OWL week - or their free week, if they're not from the fifth year..)

Walburga Black, chapter 52

Some of you are probably wondering why Walburga isn't mad at Maddy for possibly permanently disfiguring her son. No, the cause is not mere plot armor of 'everyone should love maddy'. To understand the reason, you have to know how her mind works :

Walburga understand dark curses. Some dark curses are fed by something internal, some are fed by bad actions. Vanity, greed, lust, pride, the act of betraying your own words, self deception - the point is, she knew damn well how the curse Madeline used on her son works.

And it is a damn good curse to put on Sirius for her and her family in her opinion.

As you know, Sirius has been very vocal about not acknowledging his own family and their blood purity belief. He claims to be better, to be one of the muggle-loving good guys.

Madeline's curse? It proves that somewhere inside his head, Sirius is still one of the Blacks. And Sirius has to acknowledge it if he ever wants the pustules to be gone.

I know that Sirius's fans think of him as muggle lover, muggleborn defender. I agree. He is all of those things.

But I think we should all agree how easy racism can be internalized. Especially when you are raised purely in that environment. Mind you, Sirius doesn't grow with internet access. He doesn't grow among people of diversity in some public school. He lives, for 12 years, purely among his family. And he may hate his family, and disagree with them after seeing their cruelty, but the fact is that he only has them for twelve years.

Muggles can't do what they can do. Muggles can't weild magic - they can't influence the world like magical folks can. Their way of life is similar to savages, and that makes muggleborns half a savage because they live among them. And muggleborns are poluting our civilization with their savagery.

He may not think that muggles and muggleborns deserve to die and be persecuted for poluting their society, but deep inside his mind, this internalized racism where he thinks muggles and muggleborns as lesser? It exist.

And this curse? It pushes him to acknowledge that in this matter, he is his family's son.

And Walburga couldn't see anything more satisfactory than this potential result.

(in addition, James Potter also have some internalized racism because he also lives purely among magical folks and grow pampered as an only heir of an ancient house. Even though his family doesn't raise him to hate muggles.. thinking muggles as lesser is pretty common among magical folks. Which is why the Weasleys are so special, i guess. I don't think the Weasleys ever see muggles as something lesser at all. They just think muggles as people with different culture.)

Hi!! I love your fic and just wanted to tell you that whenever i hear the song Run Rabbit i picture Maddy!! i feel like she is the same amount of whimsical with a hint of creepy ( from everyone’s perspective but hers ofc, she would probably say she is not whimsical at all or creepy).

Hear me out, with the pictures you have posted she looks like a fairytale princess, she has that ethereal beauty which seems kind of defenseless, she is elusive and kind of reserved, yet she knows things nobody her age should know, both about magic and about people around her, she has proved herself to be completely ruthless and able of harm if provoked. And i feel like those intense blue eyes of hers, if completely focused on you, feel like she is staring into your soul and know your fate ( kind like Dumbledore’s eyes)

I feel like if you don’t know her personally but have witnessed either her magical prowess or her ruthlessness/ cunning you would think she was a little mad or kind of touched in the head ( in the best possible and creepy way ofc, not like bellatrix but more like luna but more powerful, and insanely protective of her loved ones). Which might also be a reason ( of many) why Regulus loves her, he might see a little of that drive to do absolutely anything necessary to protect those you love and achieve your goals, whatever they might be.

I don’t know if you agree with this or not, but i would love to hear your thoughts on the matter and i would also love to know if you listened to any songs for inspiration or what songs and fictional characters you think represent her best. Anyhow sorry for the rant i just needed to talk to somebody about it!!! :)) Thank you for creating this story!!

And yes! I agree that those who sees her magic in work will see it as magical madness (kind of like how people see the Weasley twins's brilliance).

I don't listen to any songs when writing mad Adventure. Well, sometimes some songs reminds me of a character, but i don't listen to songs much.. i got too distracted when i listen to songs :(

It's your story and quidditch isn't the most important, but is it possible for Slytherin to win the House Cup because Sirius and James will be over confident, arrogant and insufferable, and they need to be brought down a peg.

Did I read correctly that Reggie was jealous of Warrington because he got complimented by His Maddie🤣?

Rest assured, he curses those people regularly in their club meetings. I just hadn't shown it explicitly because the plot hadn't needed it yet. Just like when Regulus cursed Macnair when he dated madeline - if it's relevant, i show it. If not, i will only mention it if needed.

You have to understand that scoring 660 points in one Quidditch game is insanely high. The reason why our Slytherin boys snickered at the thought of Gryffindor winning the cup is because their score is already ridiculously high. It is certain that Slytherin will win this year's Quidditch cup. And yes, the Marauders will be humbled because they are kids with many life lessons to learn. But not through Quidditch, i should think.

Yes Regulus was jealous 😭 when did he not feel jealous? He felt jealous to all breathing things that Madeline gave any attention to 😭

Bits on Chapter 50✨

Regulus compared Madeline's lashes to this beautiful white spider lily, or sometimes called equinox flower

The strategy the slytherin team came up with isn't anything new (disrupt the other seeker, ruin their defense & formation), but Regulus and Jugson perfected it by not leaving anything to chance, with Regulus guiding the beaters and their target distracted by the chasers. As you can see in Harry's games, Oliver Wood was struck down by a bludger in Harry's first game and Harry was tailed by other seekers often (Malfoy, the seeker before Malfoy, Cho Chang, etc). This kind of game isn't new, nor is it dirty. But Regulus's team high efficiency and clean execution of their plan made their win look awesome.

You will notice how Regulus is acting fine around the other Slytherins that had played a part in Madeline's torture. He still hates and abhors them, with all his heart and soul, but to function in his house, he keeps this truth hidden with occlumency, and even named Jugson as only 'Captain' in his mind once he enters the Quidditch pitch. He will unleash his hatred on the duelling ring and occasionally on other times when the situation pushes him.

Mama Crouch absolutely had no idea that the solution Madeline was talking about involved any kissing. If she had, she will absolutely say "Madeline No" 😭

1. Remus got this from their convo : Madeline is dumping Macnair, Macnair made some mistake against Madeline, so did Regulus, Rab, and evan, and lastly, something fishy is going on in Slytherin house

2. We're not going to expand on the wizard-goblin relation. It's just mentioned to give the clue that Hadrian Proudmore is missing because of his connection with the goblin community, especially the sword-maker family. Which means Voldie was searching for his next horcrux container. Maddy Will not get a sword. (She's dangerous enough with a wand, you want to add a sword??)

3. Arcturus and Charis are cousins, but Arcturus is 18 years older than Charis so she's like a baby for him. He is fond of Charis because Charis kind of idolized him (Arcturus was the heir at their time, academic oriented and got the order of Merlin when she's like 8, so..) she used to ask him around about stuff. Then Charis took research into another level (haha)

4. Nope. Barty sr's sisters will not make any significance in the story, as they are estranged.

5. Dorea and Charlus's bit was just gossip but they will appear again, so.. it's a little background info, i guess.

6. Barty Sr's hate for the Black Family will appear again 😈

7. Regarding barty Sr's different treatment towards his children, someone actually guessed it correctly in the comments! See, Barty Sr saw his mother, Charis, in Madeline and saw himself in his son. Which is why he is trying to control Maddy and is not very comfortable in being around Barty though he lets Barty does as he likes (wish fulfilment?). He love and hate that Madeline and Barty jr is so close, and the way Barty practically worships Madeline just reminds him too much of his past. It was never about gender roles, it was always about the shadows of his past.

8. Wilkes is a non entity, correct. His character is like Romilda Vane, which is just a representation of the fact that Madeline is quite popular and definitely a catch with a number of people having a crush on her. Then again, Romilda Vane gave something to the plot on the sixth book, so maybe he will have his role 😈

9. Yes, i will elaborate on Orion & Arcturus's relationship because Arcturus is going to be quite an important character in the future.

10. I haven't read the new blood Hermione series. Is it good? Someone please give me a link i'm in desperate need of a good Hermione stories (for inspiration & mood 😁 )
