backstory:

growing up in los angeles basically meant emmett was exposed to a lot of upper-class shit, which gave his parents an idea. they wanted their child to be an actor, so they could use his acting money to pay for their own things. thus, from an early age, he was forced into acting lessons. because he was so young, he didn’t have any say in the matter and kind of just went along with whatever his parents told him.

when it came down to his schooling, he had noticed that the lessons distracted him from getting good grades and doing well overall. he was never much of a studious student, but he at least wanted to make it seem like he tried to pay attention and that he wasn’t so focused on acting 24/7. thus, whenever it came down to attending his lessons, he would offer to walk there himself rather than go by vehicle, but he would instead head to the local library to study. his parents never caught onto that scheme, which made him feel weirdly confident in himself.

when he finally turned 18, he cut off contact with his parents completely (but not with his sister, who he still had some reliance on) and moved to nyc. after a messy break-up, he got an apartment with a childhood friend, and decided to try out youtube for a while in terms of occupation. he started out simple, with vlogs and whatnot. those failed and left him disheartened, until his friend suggested trying out music as an occupation.

they lent him an acoustic guitar they had purchased from a secondhand store and soon enough, emmett began to upload videos of him singing. it took a while, but he eventually gained popularity, so much so that he got signed to atlantic records. as a newfound musician, emmett released two singles, “sign of the times” and “kiwi” which both charted quite high. after writing and recording several more songs, he had enough material to release his self-titled debut album “emmett bowen” which was a success.

after briefly touring around the united states, he decided to take a small hiatus, especially since he couldn’t process how well-known he got in such a short amount of time. he’s currently working on his second album, which he’s actually enjoying the production of it more than he did with his first. still, though, he’s really anticipating what the future holds for him in terms of his career.
