my tumblr was technically out while i was discoursing so i didn’t get very deep into it and couldn’t if i tried, but, i think we were pretty comprehensive in pointing out the vitriol in that post, and we covered what was important. almost. there’s something i felt was unsaid on my part.

whats important in the discourse isn’t trying to prove your own point, or tear someone else down, its to show solidarity with and speak up for people you feel are being marginalized or hurt. while my response to the racist post was concise and to the point, i want to make another point that i didn’t in the initial discourse, one that is arguably more important.

we should be better than that post. we should be setting a good example for the many, many young, impressionable fans that we might interact with. we should be supporting latine riders. we should be supporting nonbinary riders. we should be supporting riders of all body types. we should be celebrating the hard-earned representation that’s been given to them.

there was an ask sent in by a lovely member of the community that i couldn’t track down and who may be gone from the fandom for good because of racist exclusion. to that person, i am so sorry. to all latine members of the community, you are welcome on the frog blog with open arms, and i have faith that many others will happily accept you as well.

anyone can be a soul rider. riders of color matter. people of color matter. you deserve to see yourself in the world of jorvik because you belong in the world of jorvik, no matter where you originally come from.

bring parts of that place with you. everyone’s input, from all around the world, is what makes jorvik unique, lively and beautiful. your story deserves to be heard and deserves to be a part of jorvik.

if any fans want to share characters that they’ve made that come from, participate in or relate to their home culture, i would love to see them.

im lvl 20 and not in a club - what makes ppl think their dressage club is gonna finally make me join? what do they have that the other people i’ve turned down in my 20-level-career don’t? nothing. they have nothing. there are never any cool clubs with names like “giga slug” or “sad fathers” or “turbo gamers society” or “omni frogs collective”. its always an “elite dressage club”. if i had a penny for every “elite dressage club” i’ve seen come ghosting in and out of servers i’d be able to buy an andalusian. but nobody has ever come asking me to join “moorland workers union”. i’ve never been invited to be part of “bad town inc.”. no “fish water”. what’s even the point anymore? what is a man? an elite dressage club?
