Oh lalalalala. Ca fait long temps.
*smiles awkwardly* Sorry I'm late, mate, but happy birthday! *she hands him a bag* These are for you.
Oh! No need to be sorry! -he beams-
Mille merci, Ms. Roberta. -he accepts the bag gratefully- Mais qu’est-ce que c’est?
*She looks at him quizzically, not sure what he’s saying* There’s home-made cookies in there. A few different kinds, in fact. I hope you enjoyed your day?
Oh! Thank you~
-Berger beams even wider and leans in to give the woman a gentle hug in thanks. As he leans back, his expression becomes slightly concerned.-
How are things going along, Roberta? Everything is well, I trust?
*smiles awkwardly* Sorry I'm late, mate, but happy birthday! *she hands him a bag* These are for you.
Oh! No need to be sorry! -he beams-
Mille merci, Ms. Roberta. -he accepts the bag gratefully- Mais qu'est-ce que c'est?
((Happy birthday Bergy! I made you some chocolate peanut butter cups, I hope you like them and have a fabulous birthday!))
Ohh mon dieu–
-The man smiles and wrings your hand.-
Merci Mlle Acrobat–– Mille merci. You are too kind.
G'day, Berger. Got business at Hydro?
Hn?
Hydro? Not that I know of… How are you, Miss Roberta? Keeping… well..?
"It’s worth a shot if you can get in there. The only one I know for sure she gets along with is one of the younger Soldiers, the one not wearing glasses, but he’s away for the arena match as well."
Hmm… Thank you for the information, anyway...
-he gives her a fleeting smile- I can get in there. I've been getting in and out of places for most of my life.
I'll pay her base another visit, soon...
-he nods and plays with his cufflinks, frowning-
G'day, Berger. Got business at Hydro?
Hn?
Hydro? Not that I know of… How are you, Miss Roberta? Keeping… well..?
"I don’t know. Telling Hydro’s Administrator is out of the question, since that would get us in trouble for trespassing. Sneak over and tell her friends to keep an eye out, maybe. The problem is finding out who her friends are.”
Hmm, you are right… I could go to her room and see if there are any clues to who they might be...
G'day, Berger. Got business at Hydro?
Hn?
Hydro? Not that I know of… How are you, Miss Roberta? Keeping… well..?
"It might just be me, but most of the uber-crazies I’ve come across are Snipers or other Medics, and they’ve always been REDs. There was this one bloke at my last base who was just as bad, if not worse…"
Roberta shook her head and got back on topic.
"I hope not as well. If I wasn’t pregnant, I’d go right over there and give him a taste of his own medicine."
-he scowls and folds his arms-
I'd like to as well… but I doubt we're facing him any time soon, and fights outside of battle aren't condoned… -he sighs-
Is there any way we can support the young scout, instead?
G'day, Berger. Got business at Hydro?
Hn?
Hydro? Not that I know of… How are you, Miss Roberta? Keeping… well..?
She frowned.
"That’d be the Scout. She’s a strange one. That aside, it sounds bad, and I don’t bloody blame her. Good thing there’s an arena match taking place elsewhere. McLeach signed up, so he’s away for the week."
Ah. That is good.
-Berger looks down, frowning-
I never expected mercenaries to be particularly nice people… but it's always disheartening to know unsavoury types like that are hanging around… pauvre petite scout… I hope that whatever he did to her was not… scarring...
-he clenches his fists reflexively and scowls-
G'day, Berger. Got business at Hydro?
Hn?
Hydro? Not that I know of… How are you, Miss Roberta? Keeping… well..?
Roberta concentrated for a moment. It sounded like he was describing the RED Scout, but on the other hand, she didn’t know their female Pyro’s exact age.
"Did the voice have a British accent? And did she tell you what he did?"
Yes… I believe she was English. All she said was 'He hurt me'.
She wanted him to be kept away from her… -he sighs again- Méprisable...
G'day, Berger. Got business at Hydro?
Hn?
Hydro? Not that I know of… How are you, Miss Roberta? Keeping… well..?
Roberta’s smile instantly disappeared and was replaced with what could only be described as a look of hatred.
"Yes, and no Australian aware of who he is and has any sense or worth considers him more than scum. Sit, I’ll tell you everything I know…"
Berger was in for quite a tale. Roberta told him of the poaching and other criminal behaviour. She also made sure to mention his sleazeball attitude and harassment of her, the torture he’d inflicted on her teammates-a certain Sniper in particular-and rumours that he was a teamkiller and attacked teammates out of battle.
-Berger takes a seat and crosses his legs, leaning forwards to listen to Roberta. He knits his brows as he does so, pondering carefully.-
He sounds like a particularly unsavoury fellow… As you guessed, I was recently hanging around Hydro. I was going in for a little reconnaissance trip when I heard someone crying through a door… she sounded quite young… she mentioned something about this McLeach character.
…Now, I do not know who it was behind that door. But she was a mercenary. And making mercenaries cry is a rather difficult thing to do. Even if she is not very skilled, it is a deplorable thing to do.
-he sighs deeply-
G'day, Berger. Got business at Hydro?
Hn?
Hydro? Not that I know of… How are you, Miss Roberta? Keeping… well..?
It’s a secret, then? I understand. And I’ve been quite well, considering.
That is good to hear… -he watches her, smiling a little. his smile slowly turns into a frown-
…Ms. Roberta… Do you know anything about a mercenary called 'McLeach'?
-There is a rather harsh knocking at the door. If Mr. McLeach is indeed presently behind a door.-
McLeach had been packing the last of his things when he heard the knock. Signalling for Joanna to stay quiet, he went to the door, a knife hidden behind his leg as he opened it. “Can I help you?”
He stared at the Spy a moment before bursting out laughing. “Oh, that’s rich. Listen, if she’s such a baby, she don’t belong here. An’ it’s none of your business anyway, is it?”
It's my business to look out for people who are… undesirable… -His face is expressionless. He watches the other man with lidded eyes, carefully looking him over, as if inspecting a combination lock.-
…I'll be keeping an eye out for you, M. McLeach.
Good day.
-he bows curtly, then turns to leave-

"Yeah, maybe. Why? Pissed because I fucked your mum?"
-he ignores this wonderful piece of repartee-
I am here because you have apparently caused distress to a young RED female.
Mercenaries are hard people. Whatever you did was sufficient to make her cry, and that is deplorable.

Excuse me.
-a rather tall, gangly looking spy with a large nose stands in the doorway, frowning.-
Are you one M. McLeach?
"I don’t know why he did it! Are you done yet?!"
Gwen just wanted to be left alone, but was too afraid to say it outright. This wasn’t the person she regularly shared company with, nor the kind motherly lady who made great food, and therefore not someone she was willing to confide fully in.
-Berger nods, scowling inwardly-
Uhm guhnna huhv a word wuth thuhs 'MucLeech'.
-he turns on his heals and leaves. he has somebody to talk to.-
"He hurt me!" comes the distressed answer, followed by some high-pitched whining. There were Berger’s first two clues-the offender was male, and some form of violence was likely involved.
Behind the door, Gwen was curled up and fighting off more tears.
Whut?!
-Mercenaries hurt each other everyday– thats what they were payed to do. If this girl has been reduced to tears by this 'McLeach's actions, he must have done something terrible. Berger seethes.-
Duh yuh wuhnt tuh talk abut uht? -he stands nervously in the doorway-
