Emily Dickinson
John Keats, from a letter to Fanny Brawne - August 1820
if you ever get the chance to live poetry instead of reading it, take it. i promise itās worth it. shout the verses at the quiet night, laugh hysterically reciting a sonnet, fall to your knees in the middle of a soliloquy. donāt leave the words on their pages, make them burn your throat and shatter the universe.
Mary Shelley, from a letter to Percy Bysshe ShelleyĀ (1814) / Joanna Newsom -Ā āOnly Skinā (2006)
all i do is sit and think about imaginary but extremely detailed romantic scenarios
so no one is going to talk about the time dostoyevsky said āand i seem to have such strength in me now, that i think i could stand anything, any suffering, only to be able to say and to repeat to myself every moment, āi exist.ā in thousands of agonies- i exist. iām tormented on the rack- but i exist! though i sit alone in a pillar- i exist! i see the sun, and if i donāt see the sun, i know itās there. and thereās a whole life in that, in knowing that the sun is there.ā because hOly fuckkkk
how long do I have to wait till one of y'all finally decide to take me out on a museum date :(

there is no more beautiful thing than reading a book and finding a great affinity between you and a character in it. every line will no longer seem the same to you and, word for word, you live every single moment of that story. you won't see things the same way again. you can close the book, take a break, but it will be difficult to completely detach yourself from it, because you will want to know how your life will go on in that world that now belongs to you.
tbh the real advice Iād give to anyone is, do shit alone. go to a museum & go at your own pace & leave the instant youāre done. go somewhere youāve never been and just wander around, duck into & out of places as it pleases you. linger as long as youād like.
What is the meaning of life? Is it something we choose or something that is given to us by a a greater force? How can we know if we are on the right path? What is the right path? What if there are more paths waiting to be discovered?
Who are we? What is our essence?
Iāve actually been thinking about this a lot.. and I still donāt know the answer
what if things go well? thatās a possibility.
