Me again, I'll share everything about John here. John Constantine is a british bisexual anti-hero who is morally ambiguous, political, vulnerable, and tragic. He first appeared in The Saga of Swamp Thing and got so popular that he got his own solo under DC Vertigo, "Hellblazer." Vertigo is for mature readers and pushes boundaries beyond superheroes. He has inspired characters like Rupert Giles from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and Castiel from "Supernatural." He grew up in Liverpool in the working class and was a hated child (his father was abusive and blamed him for the death of his mother). His origins influenced his political beliefs (Anti-Thatcherism, pro-union, pro-LGBTQ, anti-establishment, socialist views, etc). He rebelled against his family life and ran away to London as a teen and even started a rock band! His life changed when he was trying to save a young girl, Astra Logue, who was being sacrificed to a cult, but he accidentally summoned a demon who damned her to Hell. He checked himself into Ravenscar Asylum where he experienced more horrors and abuse, but he got closer to magic. John often acts in a manipulative + self-serving way but he has saved lives and is very compassionate and loyal to those who are close to him, especially his sister and his niece. He is his own worst enemy and doesn't believe he can be loved or redeemed for his sins + past mistakes, so when things are going well for him, he pushes everyone away out of fear and brings more destruction. To clear some things up, the DCAMU where King Shark x Constantine is from is not canon and is a disliked ship by John and King Shark fans alike because it has reduced their characters to the ship and people get really biphobic when speaking about John (It pushes this narrative that he'll fuck anything when he's actually very firm about boundaries and has been assaulted). The panels of King Shark x Lucifer supposedly having sex are actually illusions, they never got together in that way.

It's kinda sad that he didn't actually had a fling with Satan, it would be kinda slay a bit (but maybe it would be too much for the character's moral dilemma)?
