HOW TO MOVE ON.
001. take pride in what you have endured. wear it on your sleeve with a beaming smile that displays all of your teeth. make sure the whole world knows that it was the biggest thing to ever happen to you & that you have arisen.
002. transform what you cannot deal with into the workings of a puzzle. the pieces lay scattered around you, some out of reach & others close enough to touch. the difficult part is assembling them. let the pallid flesh underneath your eyes be bruised with darkened determination. let your obsession & searching flood your veins. let them all know.
003. fall. the whole world can crumble under your feet with any notice. you had always had the delusion that you were safe. but boys who go begging for the truth always see too much in the end. let yourself fall to the bottom. let yourself rise. perhaps you can reassemble the pieces of yourself if you try.
004. survivor guilt ( or survivor’s guilt; also called survivor syndrome or survivor’s syndrome ) is a mental condition that occurs when a person perceives themselves to have done wrong by surviving a traumatic event when others did not. ( you blame yourself because you’re profiting off of your dead friends’ stories, because they’re dead & you’re alive. )
005. acceptance. there is a cure for grief. it cannot be obtained by medicine or therapy or means of distraction but instead has to be found within yourself. the responsibility of making sure those dead are never forgotten is yours. your body is not a burial ground. you are not a resting place. and it is okay to be THANKFUL.
