As a guy with BPD, I’d really love if there were more narratives that focused on male characters who are legitimately douches (be it emotionally manipulative, violent, or even outright abusive) who go through the steps to improve themselves and heal without being demonized.

Like, most characters like this aren’t handled well. They’re either used as set pieces for the story of another character and remain static throughout the narrative, or they do get their redemption, at the cost of being literally demonized and hated despite their progress. The fact that people change is a universal truth, and it would be an important narrative for people like me to see.

Growing up, I think a narrative like that would have helped me immensely. Being able to see people like me (emotionally volatile, sometimes manipulative, people who are legitimately broken and fucked up by circumstance) being allowed to heal (even if the process isn’t pretty) would have spared me so much fucking turmoil. Being able to see myself as something other than the beginning of someone else’s story and trauma, despite the fact that I’ve gone through some shit myself, might have helped me get help before I got to that point.

Happy Pride Month fuckers

Looks like I’m gonna be able to start HRT pretty soon. I didn’t know there was an Informed Consent clinic less than 2 hours from my house, and I already have my diagnosis of gender dysphoria prepared ahead of time, so it should be relatively quicker. 

Any advice would be appreciated. I have a general understanding of what to expect and what to prepare, but specifics are a little dodgy.

What is the difference between devils and demons?

They come from completely different planes. Demons live in the Abyss, while devils live in the Nine Hells. Things having to do with demons are abyssal, while things having to do with devils are infernal.

Demons are chaotic evil and exist only to destroy, and their hierarchy is based only on the power to destroy any resistance.

Devils are lawful evil and seek to conquer and dominate, and they have a strict hierarchy which is based on loyalty and obedience.

Plus they both work a bit different from each other and have kind of different distinctive features. Basically they’re two distinct races of fiends with different abilities and behaviors. For example, demons can possess people, while devils can’t. Devils are more about striking bargains in exchange for souls. And also they’re sworn enemies with each other. More info can be found in the Monster Manual.

Additionally, tieflings in the Player’s Handbook are infernal. They are devilish. Not demonic. Abyssal teiflings are a completely different subrace with completely different abilities found in Unearthed Arcana. So unless you’re homebrewing hard, a tiefling made with the player’s handbook is not demonic. They’re devilish.

Mordenkienen’s Book of Foes also brings in some really good options for Tieflings, including traits based on specific descent, rather than the assumption that they are all from Asmodeus or all Infernal.

The book was just released, but I know there are PDFs of it floating around already. If I can’t find one, I’ll try to get a scan of the tiefling options pages, and maybe some of the other information on the difference between devils and demons.

Recoil-operated’s $12 traditional mead:

So one of the most common things I see on my Mead posts is “I’d love to do that, but I don’t have the stuff”

We’ll sit down and buckle up. Because I’m about to show you how to make a $12.56 traditional mead.

Here’s the recipe:

1 gallon Deer Park/spring water. You don’t want distilled.

3 lb or 32 fluid ounces honey.

One package of yeast.

a party balloon.

The cost total is $13.49, but you only need one pack of yeast. So -$0.90.

Let’s begin:

Everything together on a clean work surface, you will need a clean glass. And while not entirely necessary, a measuring cup will be handy.

Pour a cup of water for yourself and drink it. Hydration is important. Also this will allow you headspace.

Remove about ehhhhh, a quart or so of water to drink later.

Trust me. You’re going to want it

Wash your drinking cup and mixing about a teaspoon of honey.

You have two options for yeast, that bread yeast we bought, or professional brewer’s yeast.

They’re both the same price. You can get brewers yeast off of Amazon.

I already have brewer’s yeast, so I’m using brewer’s yeast

Stick that in that honey water.

Stick your honey in some hot water.

Go outside. Breath the free air. Know what it is… To truely live.

Enough of that bitch. Honey’s hot. Put it in the water.

Put the water in the honey too.

Shake the sin out of it.

Put that stuff back in the big bitch.

Shake the sh*t outta it.

Hydrate yourself with the water you removed earlier.

Shank a balloon with a pin.

Add your yeasty honey water.

Balloon it.

Label it.

If your trad mead says anything racist, or anything positive about Hitler. Straighten that sh*t out.

And there you go. $12 (.56) traditional mead. Stick it somewhere dark and leave it alone for a while.

Shake the hell outta it once a day for the first four days. Then let it be until it’s clear.

Creepy or adorable? Researchers at Harvard University have demonstrated the first autonomous, untethered, entirely soft robot: the octobot.

Instead of being controlled by electronics, the robot’s logic board is powered by chemical reactions and fluid passing along tiny channels. Scientist have struggled to create completely soft robots because rigid components like circuit boards, power sources and electronic controls are difficult to replace.
