“Okay then, we’ll go back to being screwed then” Killian laughed “Yeah and that ‘somewhere’ will be further into the forest, man” he told the other male, almost slipping over for the millionth time tonight “Okay, I’m good. I’m totally chill…” he nodded.

“Looks like it” he laughed and shrugged “No it’s all good. One side of the forest? Theres the town, otherside is the homestead. So either way we’ll hit one sooner or later..” he chuckled “You alright? You’re really fucking clumsy, you know that dude?” he smiled “Makes it harder to believe you’re chill..” He joked

Laughing, Bennett simply shrugged his shoulders at Brad’s words and put his hands up slightly. “You know me, I have a thing for dramatics, getting your attention in a normal way just wouldn’t cut it.” He teased in return before giving a small pout as soon as the door was mentioned. “I didn’t mean to hurt the doors feelings though, I’ll have to write it an apology letter or something.” One thing that Bennett never expected to do again, was joke around with Brad and now that he could, Bennett couldn’t help but feel appreciative towards the other. “Nah, I couldn’t blame you and still sleep at night, I’d have to take the blame for it. People around here already know that I’m not the most coordinated anyway.” He replied with a chuckle. It felt nice to talk to someone who already knew so much about him and with everything that Brad had done for him, Bennett wanted to thank him in any way possible. “Yeah, I figured it was about time and…well..thank you…for all of you help with all of this, it really means the world to me.” He said honestly, looking up at the others eyes and chuckling as he felt a hand tilting his chin. A large smile crossed over his features at the touch and he stuck his tongue out in a teasing manner towards Brad. “You just like knowing that you embarrassed me.” He replied teasingly. The idea of hanging out with Brad again just like they used to had Bennett’s lips curving into a large smile. “I wouldn’t have said no anyway but now you have to let me take pictures of you, you have no say there.” He beamed.

Brad laughed and shrugged “Well, you need to tone it down. You’re hurting inanimate objects in the process and it’s just not fair on them” he laughed. “God only you would suggest writing a fucking door a letter in return for slamming it..” he laughed nudging his arm gently. It was good to finally see Bennett smiling, after all the pain Brad had seen him put through it was a relief to see him taking a turn to the better. “You’ve never been the most coordinated person..” he chuckled “If theres something to trip over, i can always count on you to find it before i do” He laughed, as soon as Bennett started thanking him? He shook his head “Don’t mention it honestly, of course i’m going to help you” he sighed “I’m not a heartless person Bennett, i can’t just stop caring about you.” he nodded “And i don’t really want to either, so what sort of a person would i be to leave you in a situation like that?” he shrugged, rubbing the back of his neck. He chuckled seeing the smile on Bennett’s face. “I do.. i won’t even begin to deny that” he smiled and shrugged “You’re going to regret wanting to, not only am i the most unphotogenic person in the world - but i am a pain in the ass” he laughed.

Killian smiled, nodding in agreement to being fucked. “Well, hey– maybe you could climb one of these trees, get a better look at where we are. Please tell me you can do that?” he asked with a raised brow “I mean, I’d do it, but with my lack in energy right now I’ll probably fall half way up..” he laughed and then pointed in one direction “Ah– that way…I think…” he spoke unsurely “Or maybe it was that way..” he added, motioning his hand in another direction.

Brad chuckled at the suggestion “There is no way i can climb that tree. Not in a million years” He nodded “Chill okay, we’ll be fine. Okay it’s jus process of elimination. Sooner or later we’ll come to somewhere.” he shrugged “But if you panic you’re gonna freak yourself out even more” he laughed

Lately, all of the things that Brad had been doing for him was enough to cause a warm feeling to spread over him every time the other visited. If someone would have hurt him as much as Bennett was sure that he hurt Brad, he wasn’t sure if he would have forgiven him the way that Brad was. This doesn’t mean that Bennett wasn’t grateful, however, he was more than thrilled to have the other around and the minute that he noticed that it was Brad chuckling at him, he couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief. “I’m so glad that it was you and not someone else, I thought I’d wake up the entire damn house.” He replied with a nervous chuckle, walked towards Brad’s approaching form with a large smile crossing over his features. Instead of replying to the others words about being about, he simply held up a camera. “I….I think it’s time that I realize that he didn’t care enough to stay…and that’s no ones fault.” Bennett whispered softly, eyes glancing down towards the ground before shooting back up to Brad’s face. However, this gaze instantly was directed back to the floor as he felt his cheeks heat up, giving a large burst of laughter. “Maybe if you’re lucky, I’ll get back in.” He teased, gently bumping his shoulder against the others.

Brad couldn’t help but chuckle and shake his head “If you wanted to get my attention, you could’ve done it a little less violently, now the doors feelings are hurt.. Fucking Hell Bennett” he joked, shaking his head. “Nah i think you’re right, no one’s peeking their heads from doors so you’re okay. Otherwise just blame me” he shrugged, smiling when he saw the camera “So you’re finally gonna get out and use that thing huh?” he chuckled “I’m glad you’re thinking that way though, because it’s not your fault Bennett” he smiled gently. he couldn’t help but chuckle, tilting Bennett’s chin upwards “Don’t blush and look away from me, i wanna see the embarrassment on your face..” he chuckled and shook his head. “Okay i’m tagging along.. for the photos i mean.. wow” he laughed “You have no say, lets go”

It had taken a while for Bennett to feel as though he was truly ready to leave his room again but as he glanced down at the camera that Becca had purchased him for their birthday, he knew that today was the day. Sure, things still hurt and Bennett wasn’t entirely back to himself but he was starting to see the positive and that was all he could ask for. Smiling softly, he picked up the object and shut his door with a little too much force, creating a loud boom that he was sure the others in the hallway would hear. “Shit.” He whispered softly, hoping he hadn’t disturbed anyone.

The worry Brad had felt for Bennett? Only sky rocketed as the days passed by. He wasn’t sure what to worry most about, it was all so troubling and all Brad wanted to do was to drag Bennett out of the mess he seemed to be entangled in. He had been checking up on him every now and again and today? it was no different. So when he saw Bennett leaving his room he couldn’t help but smile gently to himself, chuckling as he watched the door close a little too loudly. “Didn’t expect to see you up and about..” he admitted “i’m glad.” He headed over closer to him “It’s good to see you out of the sheets..” he chuckled trying to make a joke “Not that i should be complaining about that..” he tried to joke again.

Killian brushed a hand into his hair, looking up at a few tall trees. He would have climbed one ages ago, but he had no energy to do so. All he wanted right now was a shower and his bed. “You lost too?” though there was probably no hope with two lost people in the forest, it made Killian feel a little relieved. At least he wasn’t the only one that could get lost in these forests. “Well, I think we’re both screwed, mate. I have no idea where we are..”

Brad chuckled only softly as he spotted the exhaustion, evident in the others expression “Ah.. Kind of” he nodded, scratching the back of his neck “Yeah.. Yeah i’m lost” he admitted. “Great..” he chuckled “Well we’re fucked then..” he shrugged crossing his arms over his chest “Which way did you come from?”

Due to the stress that came along with moving into a new town, Killian had been unable to sleep. Instead, he’d chosen to stupidly wander off into the forest to try and kill some time. At first he was sure he’d been memorising his course of direction, but on his way back to the homestead he realized he was lost. “Fuck…” he mumbled under his breath, turning around and heading off further into the forest without knowing he was.

With everything that had been going on in Brad’s mind lately and with the whole Bennett situation, Brad had no idea how to comprehend what was going on. The last thing he had expected was to run into old demons when he settled here. He gave a small sigh as he wandered the forrest, trying to shake the thoughts from his brain. He had been so deep in thought he hadnt realised how far he’d strayed and when he came accross another, he would admit he was slightly relieved “Thank fuck. You don’t know where the hell we are do you?” he forced a chuckle

“Just because i know i’m hot, doesn’t mean i should be punished. You think you’re the first guy to tell me how great i look?” She asked, arching an eyebrow up at him. “Hmm.. They were quite good, if i recall correctly.” She grinned, watching him almost pull down his shirt, biting down on her lip. “God, yes, i know. Everybody’s constantly crying and whining about something or rather, it’s utterly intolerable.” Stella rolled her eyes, because she felt like she was in One Tree Hill or something. Nobody had any ability to have fun. “God, don’t tell me you’re getting all dramatic and lame too.” Stella groaned.

“I’m not being an asshole, we both know how awful they looked.” Stella said, giving him a pointed look to remind him, “I like this hair better. Only slightly though.” She shrugged, watching him capture her hand, stifling a small yawn, “Nothing. Parties, drugs, alcohol, boys- some girls. The usual. My life is non stop fun, whilst everybody else runs around feeling sorry for themselves.”

“I definitely know i’m not the first guy to tell you such a thing.. Come on, I know you like the back of my hand Stella” he laughed “Thank you, thank you very much. I’m here for eternity” he joked, grinning down at her “Fuck no. I’m not being dramatic or lame” he laughed “I was just taken by surprise, my ex is here” he shrugged “You know, the one that would just.. keep our damn relationship a secret and it was just a big old ‘lets hide everything’ show” he nodded “Bennett” he shrugged. “But trust me - I’m not going dramatic on you” he laughed “promise” he nudged her gently. 

“Okay yeah, i’ll give you that” He smiled “But this is what happens when i’m stuck without you” he laughed “Damn i miss us hanging out. We gotta liven this place up a little” he nodded “Make everybody wish they did the same..” he grinned

Just having someone there to comfort him meant the world to Bennett and the fact that it was Brad comforting him meant even more. If there was anything that he’d learned from their time together, it was that the only people that could calm Bennett down enough for him to logically think were his siblings and Brad. With this in mind, Bennett began taking deep breaths as he allowed the other to wipe the tears from his eyes. It seemed useless to try and wipe the tears seeing as they would not stop falling, despite the fact that Bennett wished that they would, but the touch was enough to have him calming slightly. “I’m just so tired of everything hurting, I don’t want to hurt anymore.” He whispered softly, squeezing his eyes shut tightly. “It feels like everyone pushes me away, or I push them away…and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong or if it’s even me but…everyone leaves…” He whispered. Bennett didn’t like admitting these types of things out loud but right now, he felt as though he was at one of the lowest points in his life and there was nothing to lose. “..Even Becca..even she left and I know she didn’t mean to and I know it was a long time ago it’s just…I thought he was one person who was going to stay and stay forever…and….it was finally my chance to be myself and not worry about home…or family…but now I have to worry about all those things and surviving this stupid place..and I….” He trailed off, shaking his head at the painful memory and taking another deep breath to steady himself. However, this didn’t last long as he heard the others next words and instantly Bennett’s eyes snapped up to meet his. The words warmed his heart and as soon as he saw the other smile, his eyes were cast downward as his tears began to slow. Bennett knew there were people out there who cared but in the moment, it was hard to realize that. An apology almost rolled off of Bennett’s tongue in response but instead, he bit onto his lip, nodding his head. “I….I won’t anymore, I promise..It’s just…I don’t want to be a burden and I don’t want you to feel like you have to be here because you don’t…I’m being stupid and upset and it’s going to pass soon…and I’m sure you have better things to do than to try and talk some sense into me….” He whispered softly.

Brad knew where he was coming from. Bennett had experienced way too much pain. He knew that already and he knew he couldn’t do anything more than be there, as much as he wished he could. He sighed gently “Bennett, Life is pain” he nodded “It’s fighting and it’s screaming and it’s feeling like everything is going to fall apart.. but it’s also getting through it” he nodded “This is the start of that.. this is the beginning of getting through it..” he sighed “Everyone pushes people away Bennett..” he shook his head “But it doesn’t give them an excuse to give up when you’re just starting out” he sighed, frowning when he said everyone left, it made him feel the slightest bit guilty, even though he knew he shouldn’t “I’m sorry..” he nodded “I’m sorry that you have been left.. You.. you really don’t deserve it” he spoke quietly, chewing the inside of his bottom lip. He dropped his gaze as Bennett spoke of the other male. He still wouldn’t deny, through hearing all this there was the slightest tweak of pain that struck in Brad’s chest. That someone so undeserving had been given that. When it was literally everything Brad had wanted. “He doesn’t deserve you” he spoke simply, shaking his head. He meant it too. Selfish prick didn’t. He waited a few moments before looking back up at him, keeping bennett’s face held between his hands. “I’m holding you to that..” he nodded “Stop it..” he smiled gently “You know me well enough, that you’d know if i didn’t want to be here.. I wouldn’t be” he nodded “I want to be here..”

Stella grinned even more wider, unbuttoning the first button on her blouse and winking at Brad, “Want a repeat show?” She said, half teasing. “Yep, all settled in again to this shit hole. What’s been going on since i left?” Stella asked, arching an eyebrow over to her friend.

She burst into loud laughter, jumping up and wrapping her legs around him gratefully, “Those skunk stripes were hideous.” She agreed. “Hey, i try to make you stop, but you just keep finding new ways to ruin your hair.” Stella let go of him, blowing a kiss, “I always look good, you ought to know that by now.”

Brad couldn’t help but laugh “Wow Stella, still so modest..” he teased “I don’t know, i think my shows are better” He joked, pulling down the neck of his shirt sarcastically. “Ahh. I mean i haven’t been here that long either” he admitted “And all i’ve seen of it is just.. fucked up shit going down” he nodded “Everything’s just so heavy you know..” he nodded “And it’s like.. this place is designed to shove your past straight into your fucking face” he gave a small shrug 

He chuckled, catching her as she jumped, holding her legs around his waist “They seemed like a good idea at the time.. And hey! There was one time i did it properly and it looks okay. Don’t be an asshole” he teased, releasing her smiling and trapping the hand she used to blow the kiss, tugging at it teasingly “Yeah yeah you’re the queen bee, fucking hot, blah blah blah” he joked “Whats new with you though? What have i missed?”

The last thing that Bennett was expecting was for Brad to grip his face between his hands and the minute that the other was, he couldn’t hide the tears that he felt streaming down his face. Right now, it felt like Bennett’s entire world was falling apart despite how hard he tried to hold it together so when he heard Brad’s stern words, he could only tense and allow his tears to fall freely. It felt like all Bennett had been doing lately was crying in front of people and it made it hard for him not to feel small when it felt like with every conversation he was breaking down.  “Why not? I live in the present and it doesn’t fucking work and I end up getting hurt, I live in the past and it hurts…I don’t know what to do anymore.” He whispered. Bennett was aware that he more than likely sounded pathetic but he couldn’t help it at this point, he was so overwhelmed with the return of Brad, watching the girl turn into a vampire in front of him and Kayley’s deal with him. The last thing that Bennett had been doing was thinking straight. “If I don’t deserve it, then why did it happen? You’ve heard about it, you know what he said and then he left like it meant nothing and fuck, clearly it didn’t. So if I don’t mean anything to him, then who the fuck do I mean something to?” It was easier to say these things around Brad because he knew the other understood and that Brad would never judge him. Casting his gaze down, Bennett bit onto his lower lip and allowed his leg to jiggle, he couldn’t look at Brad when he was saying such nice things to him simply because he didn’t believe him. “I’m sorry.” He whispered, he felt bad that the other had to talk sense into him like he was.

Brad watched as Bennett crumbled before him, keeping his face held gently between his hands, he only listened. Watching as the tears fell gently down his his cheeks. He couldn’t help but feel a soft ache in his chest. Even through everything, Brad wasn’t sure if he’d ever seen Bennett so upset. He tried to wipe away the tears from his cheeks but he knew that right now it was pointless. “You need to not give up is what you need to do Bennett, Why are you giving up?” He shook his head “You give up and everything all of this pain. It wins and it’ll fucking consume you and i don’t want to watch you self destruct” He sighed gently, Bennett had been through a lot, Brad had known this. He’d had a shitty home life and he’d ended up alone without family for a long time. So the fact that more shit had piled up on top of that and that he honestly believed he deserved it? It hurt Brad to hear him think that way. “Because..” he sighed, shaking his head “Because sometimes bad shit happens to good people Bennett. Sometimes these things happen and you just can’t do anything about it but fucking fight, fight through it all and hope it gets better.. Because” he chuckled and shook his head “It will Bennett. I know you don’t see it.. But you’re a good guy” he shrugged, the jealous anger that boiled within him that another guy had told Bennett that he loved him and Bennett had said it back, made his teeth grit slightly. That was all he’d ever wanted from Bennett and some underserving prick had gotten it first. His eyes snapped back up when he asked who he meant something too “Tell me you’re fucking kidding” he laughed humourlessly “Bennett.. Come on..” he shook his head “You mean so much to so many people. Your siblings, they fucking adore you..” He nodded “I’ve never seen someone as close to their brother and sister as you are.. I don’t think i’ve ever heard about you fighting..” he shook his head “I also know that you’ve definitely got friends here.. friends that love you and care about you” he sighed “And i do..” he nodded “I care about you.” he half smiled and shrugged. “If you apologise one more time. I fucking swear Bennett” he shook his head.

Stella had been too busy bitching at people and trying to avoid Levi whilst also trying to charm Zeke back into her life. She had been so busy she had almost forgotten about one of the most important, yet annoying, people in her life. Brad. As her door opened, she almost jumped in surprise but quickly covered it, “Jesus Christ, what if i had been naked, creeper?” She said dryly, a smile playing on her lips though.

She didn’t hesitate to jump up, pulling him in for a hug tightly, allowing herself to smile and relax fully now though. She had missed him, even though she wouldn’t ever admit it. “I should have fucking hidden from you and your maniacal hair, what the fuck’s going on there, Brad?” She snorted, teasingly, pulling away from him, her arms still around his waist though, as close to being happy as Stella got.

Brad chuckled rolling his eyes “Oh come on. If you had’ve been naked?” he shook his head “Not like it’s nothing i haven’t seen before” he laughed, kinking his eyebrow in amusement. “Looks like you’ve already settled yourself in” he nodded looking around 

When she reached out and hugged him, he wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug “Shut up. Just be thankful the skunk stripes fading” he rolled his eyes “Just don’t leave me alone with bleach again” he laughed “Cause fuck it’s a bad idea.” he smiled down at her “I’m trying to find things to pick on you about, but you actually look good so fuck you”

brad & stella II we meet again.

Brad had a limited number of friends he kept in contact with. Stella was one of them. They had grown up next door to each other and had always gotten along. They had an understanding of each other. They knew each other well enough not to get offended by the bullshit that left their mouths. 

When all of the shit in the outside world had started going down? It’d turned to Chaos. Their town looked like a bomb had hit it and though they had kept in contact? The two of them had gotten separated. They had decided to have a meeting spot. Thats where Ivory Tower came in. Finally? he was going to see his friend again. Once he reached her room? He didn’t bother knocking. Whether she had a roommate or not? He didn’t care.  “Stellaaaaa” he called out, heading inside. “It’s been too long so don’t fucking hide from me”
