Got a bunch of new painting stuff over on my twitter, go there! I shed yet another social media skin. Tumblr is a cesspit fam ❤️ ❤️🦂🍆
I made a twitter.

I intentionally try to keep this tumblr pretty sparse of clutter, only posting a rare piece of personal work or the occasional set of paid images I dont find absolutely repulsive. The unintended side effect of that is when I do actually post something it’s usually buried under a wall of japanese alleyways and pictures of womens lips. I intend to use this twitter more flippantly. I'll still be updating on my other various online outposts every half-millennia but if you want a bunch of unsolicited LOLRANDUM opinions and pictures of food hit me up. (Until I delete it anyway)

I actually still think this one is pretty cool. I wish i would have had more time to refine it, particularly the color work, but I had to knock this out in around a day so what are you gonna do? Originally this was going to have a TTLY KAWAII witchgirl as the focus but they ended up needing more demons so out goes the witchgirl and in comes the demons. The weird lovecraftian fleshtree in the backround was inspired from the cover of the album "Trouble In Paradise" by the band Child Abuse. Again i wish i had more time to really detail out the tree like it looks in my head but i still think it's fun for what it is.
(To anyone who wants to reblog this, feel free to delete the following text) Another new piece for Cosmic Balance knocked out in a day. I would have loved to do more to this (like make the spear less generic and add more detail/fungus) but I fear my computer of well over a decade is about to kick the can for good. Every couple minutes photoshop freezes up and beachballs for about 20 seconds, making it incredibly difficult to get into any sort of production rhythm. I'm hoping this is some sort of one time technical fluke but I'm not counting on it. The environment itself is vaguely inspired by the pre-rendered/ hand painted backgrounds from the Hydra Swamp levels from the PS1 game Chrono Cross. I ended up buying that game at a young age and the beautiful backgrounds and immersive environments was and still remains as one of my biggest motivations for wanting to learn how to paint.

More Cosmic Balance stuff, another one I like enough to post by itself. I love painting rotting, abandoned stuff near water and mossy things so this was fun. Really I love painting stuff with a lot of details in general, it's a very hypnotic and rewarding process. I didn't have it in mind when I did the sketch for this, but retroactively I remember going to the Salton sea when I was maybe 11 or 12 years old and seeing a partially collapsed dock out far out in the middle of the lake and thinking it was one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. I have no idea if it's still there. An aunt of mine also owned a piece of property in Nebraska that had a lake on it with many dead trees and abandoned cars that would break the surface of the water that birds would nest in and fish would swim through. I remember sitting on the roof of some rusty 50s car (whilst the rest was entirely submerged in water), and examining the fully preserved nymph skins that the dragonflies would leave behind when they shed and turned into full grown adults. This is all sort of a tangent but I guess what I'm trying to say is just that i think things being reclaimed by water are very beautiful. (tldr: water good)
There’s a lot more than this that I’m not posting, but here’s some screenshots of some of the new Cosmic Balance illustrations I thought were fun or had some sort of interesting component. Excuse the yellow border/trim, I was too lazy to remove it.
Paid work. Will probably post the pieces individually from now on.
Use your god powers to tip the scale and control the eternal fates of mortals in this Hellishly good game of angels and demons!
Hey guys, A project I've been doing work for since October last year just went live on Kickstarter. Plox check it out!
